Been running one of these on my Mugello 200 Piston Port with 28mm Dellorto, tried every combination (almost!) of jet/atomiser/needle/screw and could never get it 100%, generally just too rich somewhere in the rev range no matter what I did. Finally when it seemed very close but still a bit rich and smoky particularly at tickover I gave it a try with this thing removed and it's now running spot on. You imagine that it won't impede air flow at all looking at it but it definitely does
Hi Rob thanks for your reply never thought of that on a long ride out to a rally what if you took the very fine filter out and just have the larger mesh left to stop any large objects getting through 🤔🤔🤔🤔👍
People do that mod but I would be more inclined to ride filter less. I've bought the chiselspeed panel filter, apparently works well but won't know until the spring.
Hi its me :) yea no probs using my Pics, bloddy stone god knows how it got between the rear runners and the panel cost me 500 quid ,ive got this tea strainer now and am still running in so not sure ref jetting .
Hi I’ve also got a S3 Rt 195 kit using a25phbl carb I removed the air box still using the bellows and connected a BGM highflow air filter it sits in the air box recess lovely I jetted up a bit for the extra air intake made amazing difference what’s your opinion love your videos
Thanks Erik, I actually haven't got an opinion yet. My other bikes are run without a filter. I will talk about the jetting as soon as I get the TV out on the road.
Exciting. I'll follow this up when spring turns up. Also got some tips on taking away the fine mesh. If it doesn't work I'll certainly be making a test video.
Hi rob I know this is a old video but I’ve just got the mb carb kit 28 mm delo what manifold r u using because mine when fitted carb is at a very steep angle towards the back in fact the cable insert points heat the tool box how can I solve this the manifold I’ve got came with the kit with rubber mounting sleeve regards tony
Hi Rob I’m thinking of getting a tea strainer filter for my 30 Dellorto carb what’s your honest opinion now you’ve been using yours for quite a while some people give bad reviews saying they restrict the air flow or is that just bullshit 👍
It's bullshit to a certain degree. They get clogged up too quick. We rode a 250km weekend, me and Shrek and had to wash it out a couple of times, so I am trying something alternative next season. I haven't used filters for years with no problems but I an going to give a couple of alternatives a go.
I am having so many problems with my original serveta filter with my rt225 i was thinking of using one of those but not sure which one is more restrictive, Marschald foam filters or Tee Strain? Did you get to try it? Great videos btw!
Thank you and yes, we have had good luck with the tea strainer. You have to clean it quite often though. You can also try the bgm high flow filter through the box. This has worked well on the TV I've just built.
Hi Marcus I took the air box out then l still used the air bellows and the Ali filter connector but I’ve used the BGM fast flow filter it sits lovely where the air box was just made a buffer round the back of the filter you have more air flow from the scoop take the baffle out first blowing down on top and more flow from inside the panels works lovely and much safer👍
It's a first look vid. I will certainly be making another video when I try it out on the road. I've heard some have problems with jetting and others don't. So should be intreasting. First impressions are that it's a good Idea and fits well. Thanks for the feedback. If it's poo in use, I will certainly tell it how it is!

My problem was that it clogs pretty quick. It went in the bin 🙈

Have one on my S2 Rt195 breathes through a 28delly, didn’t need too down-jet at all and it kept its same power all through the range, good bit of kit
Ok, a lot of conflicting info on this, should be intreasting to try.
Kickback Garage agree no 2 engines are a like so there’s gonna be difference in set ups

Stuff of nightmares!

Horrible things cuts the airflow by up to 40 % at wot 😞

I have fit the mb carb manifold. We will have a look ans see how it fits in the next TV video. Just waiting for a couple of parts.
The MB 'tea strainer' is no good for a panelled GP running a Quattrini 210 (rubs on inside of panel) and is also quite restrictive on air flow.
They are OK on series 1 and 2 BUT they clog up after a short while 😢

get ready to down jet bro
Yup. Have talked to a few guys that have one and they have moved the needle and main.
@@kickbackgarage guessed as much
filters are a problem on lammys especially TS1
9/10 And it looks like you have done 0 testing? Let yourself down on this one.
