Been watching your videos for a while now... thanks for being so honest and informative. I have one question... in one of your videos you said that the right time to start your Ph.D. application is Oct-Nov (in the 3rd semester) which is before our master's thesis, and now you also said that our master's thesis will impact our application process. So, how can I start my application in Oct? Please share your views.
I am glad that you found my videos informative and useful. Coming to your question, firstly, it's a great question and very logical. So starting application does not mean that you directly start sending your documents. First step in starting the application process begins with preparation of your documents that are your motivation letter, research proposal, gathering information about which labs and professors are working in the field of your interest. All this takes time, at-least 2-3 months for most of the students. If your long term plan is to get a PhD from abroad you need to look at open position advertisements and see what kind of skills they have asked for and since you start the process from your 3rd semester, you have the time to choose a suitable topic for your Master thesis project, that would latter help in landing a PhD position. Otherwise, students end up doing a Master thesis which is not very related to what they really want to do in their PhD. Once the documents are prepared, then also you might be doing your master thesis, but you can apply for positions for which the start date is after you finish your Master degree. For those positions you can mention the research work that you have done so far during the Master program and also mention what would be the possible outcome of your Master thesis work. For 90% students first 9 to 10 applications are rejections, but that would help you to understand what you are doing wrong. This extra time simply provides you some room to make mistakes in your application and helps to get students in the rhythm. By this way there is very high possibility that you land a PhD position right after your Master's without a drop year. I hope this will help you. All the best for your applications.
I'm so happy to see such honest content creators like you.. Your videos are so informative and honest. Can you please make a video on list of Universities with tution fees and without tution fees for PhD in Germany

Dear Durdam i have a question I shall be thankful if you may please answer: If a person get a PhD scholarship from any PhD funding agency like Robert Bosch etc and start PhD in German university. The amount of funding many be around 1700€ -2000€ per month (not a TVL13) then will the three years phd duration will count for the time required to get blue card( because I heard that to get a blue card in germany one should have a taxable salary plus German level B1)?or one have to do a taxable salary job after PhD for 3 years to get blue card in Germany?
You must add the conferences in your CV. That is the whole benefit of attending conferences and workshops. You can show them as part of your CV. That is very beneficial

@APS2050 You are eligible. It's good that you also have a paper. Compare your profile with the advertised Phd. position requirements and see if you have sufficient experience or not. Then start your applications. If you think you need more experience, join a lab and work on some projects and in parallel keep applying to PhD positions.

Hello Brother I am complete my MSC Economic Now, I want to take admission in PHD Economics in Germany. So, kindly help me which things I went for Admission
You need to start looking of open funded PhD positions in Germany in your field i.e. Economics. Once you find a relevant advertisement, start preparing your application and documents. The application process will most likely ask you to upload your documents as scanned pdf on their portal or email them to some email ID. It's quite straight forward. The main challenge is to prepare good CV, motivation letter, cover letter. That's the tricky part. For this you need to have good experience in your field and good writing skills. Watch other videos on my channel, to save you some time I would recommend watching this one: ruclips.net/video/j5hE67whn4Q/видео.html I will release a new video next week explaining the process from scratch. So stay tuned and all the best for your applications.
Hello sir I am a Master's student In my institue various professors are working in different labs on numerous projects and i have approached few of them to involve me in the lab work. So officially i am not part of any project but i am working with phd scholars and learning to handle lab instruments and new techniques. So can i put this on my cover letter in the form of projects i have worked closely with?
I am studying Masters in International Business in public university in Warsaw, Poland. I start my 3rd semester this October'2022. I am planning to start my process of PHD from Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. I have selected these countries. I just wanna know do I need to give IELTS again as I gave IELTS when I joined Masters here in (Warsaw)Europe because I believe If I complete my Masters from an European union Public university I don't need IELTS for further higher education. Also, If I get admitted to any one of these countries do I need to apply for visa again as I already have Temporary residence card of Poland.
A very interesting question. Since you already are in Europe and your Masters is also from EU, you do not need to give IELTS exam again. For the visa situation, I think you would need to apply for it again. So recently, a colleague of mine who finished his PhD from Italy came to Germany for further PostDoc position and he had to apply for the Visa. It was a research Visa. So the process is, the HR dept. of the University/Institute where you got the PhD position contacts the embassy for your visa. There could be the case where you directly have to contact the embassy regarding your visa. But you should contact the HR dept. first to get some info. about this. Hope this helps. All the best for your applications.
In Europe and US no one writes email with Respected sir/Madam. We don't address our professor by Sir or Mam. We address them by their name. No matter how senior they are. When you are trying to get accepted for a position in these places, you are expected to know these things and use them according. It's not like, by not adding Respected we don't respect them. But to them it would be more natural if you use Dear Prof. X.
That's rare. These kinds of integrated programs are more common in the USA. However, some universities provide it. But I would not recommend it. You never know if you like to do a Phd. from that same lab where you did Masters. Basically, it's too big of a commitment. You need to be sure about the supervisor, lab environment, etc.... If you do your masters from Germany it's very easy to get a Phd. position after that. So why go for an integrated program. It's not like it will save your time.
Sir i am in the 3rd semester of my msc chemistry at IIT BHU . currently i am doing my research project but in my first year of masters I was not that much aware about this process and currently I am interested in pursuing my Phd from Germany. Is there any chances of getting me selected in 2025 for phd position in germany?
@SoniaSharma-n5r Sure. You have plenty of time for your applications. This process from scratch should not take more than 1 year at most if you do it the right way. You should start checking open positions on nature.careers or science.careers websites to check what sort of skills they are asking for. Read up on research articles and keep up what is current in your field. This will help you when you are preparing your cover letter and other documents for the PhD applications. Since you are aiming for 2025, you could also try to get a publication before that from your Master research work. This will help you in landing a position. All the best.
Yes, your master thesis is a very crucial part of your PhD application. That is your main research experience. In case you do not have any, then I would recommend to join some research lab and gain some experience before starting your application.
Can you please help me out to solve my query actually as I said earlier i have completed my Masters in geology with cgpa 8.7 and how can I enroll to PhD course. I have passed msc in 2021. After passing, right now, I am involved in multiple research projects, doing intern (as well as remote intern at an university abroad) for experience and learning the methodologies. Will that be considered a "gap"? Will that affect in my application (in Europe)?
As long as you can show that you are working in a project for the time duration, that won't be a gap. Because you are in touch with the field. These experiences would boost your application. You have more content to write in your motivation and cover letter.
Sir I don't have any publication but I had my masters project for 2 semesters. (Sub: Mathematics) I know publications will boost my cv but how much is the chances of getting phd enrollment without publications? Also I had done a 1day workshop under the sponsorship of Forest department of Assam for students of class 9-10 on mathematics .. Will this be beneficial mentioning this in my cv and motivational letter? Thank you
Well there are plenty of students who get a PhD position without any publication. So do not worry too much. If you have solid research background you would land a position. Question: Also I had done a 1day workshop under the sponsorship of Forest department of Assam for students of class 9-10 on mathematics. Will this be beneficial mentioning this in my cv and motivational letter? Answer: you can mention this on your CV as extra curricular activities but for a PhD position this would not help much. All the best for your applications.
