Hello. I discovered you on my search for help. I have a brand new nektar impact 61+ and I'm really tired of trying to get the pads to play a sample. I need to pull out a sample of an explosion on pad 1 and some tuned bells (also samples) on pads 2 3 4 e 5 while playing strings. I am not an expert in midi but I have read the manual about 15 times and I was not able to find out if it is possible and if so, how can I do it. Can you help me?
Hello Patricia, I don't think it is possible to do this. I could be wrong, but the thing about this keyboard is that it is only used and triggered based on the sample you have currently available in your DAW. I am not sure in a muli-keyboard setup because I've never done that and I am not a keyboardist. The LX88+ has the capability of splitting your keyboard, but only this model can do this. You can't physically store different samples on the pads while playing strings on the keyboard. The keyboard itself does not have a way to save sounds in its memory. This would be a very complex setup for this keyboard and you'd probably need to get a keyboard such as Nord or Roland for example that can handle all these splits you are trying to do. The keyboard will only respond to the sample library you have opened in the moment and manipulate parameters that can help you shape the sounds in real time. Again, if you are looking for a more complex setup, you would probably need a more advanced Keyboard. Anyone reading this and could possibly have an answer to this, feel free to drop your comments on this thread! I hope this helps!

Pots and faders are assignable the same way for MIDI CC. As far as using the pots as XY controllers you can MIDI assign them by right-clicking on the parameter you want to affect, such as cutoff, and then click Learn MIDI CC. Turn the pot you want assigned and there you have it. I know Kontakt instruments have this feature and some Logic Stock VSTs, but I’m not to sure if every library has this feature. I will make a video in the future explaining this concept if it’s too confusing in writing! Thanks! Hope this helps.
I’m not an Ableton user, but these mapping shown are universal. This mapping happens internally in the keyboard, so the DAW doesn’t really matter that much.
Sure, libraries like Kontakt lets you right click and “learn”. But, libraries like East West for example doesn’t let you, you need to map the faders or knobs before hand.
@@Johnmunstudios So, to sum it up: I assign the MIDI CCs to the knobs and faders and wheels on the keyboard itself. Pretty much, although once you map it on the keyboard specific parameters are standard in every library. Like 1 and 11 will always be dynamics and expression in any library. I had a question. so im using the lx 49+. when I press shift pad learn and do each sound in each pad and I finish assigning each sound to all 8 different pads, it sticks to the last one I did. what am I doing wrong? and how do I assign the drum sounds to my actual keyboard?
Johnmunstudios so when i switch each sound so let’s say i do a hi hat first and i try to assign that to pad 1. i do the patch learn and then i want to make pad 2 a snare, so i do patch learn and play the snare for pad 2. when i go back to play pad 1 it’s playing a snare on pad 1 & 2. so like all 8 drum pads are only playing what sound i’m currently on
That’s strange... it should work if you follow the vid exactly. Make sure that after you press a key, be careful not to press anything else until you press on another pad. If you don’t, then you’ll override what you’ve already done. Does this make sense?
Whenever I go into the set menu, and assign a fader to a certain CC, I press enter and exit the menu, but when I go back into the MIDI Assign mode, the CC numbers of all faders are back to factory preset. What am I missing?
Sure! That happens sometimes, try going back into the menu after you setup your CC and hit the save button which is F#1 I believe. See if this stops the issue.
Actually yes, I only know of one way of doing that at the moment so If anyone reading this knows of more ways feel free to comment! So you need to first map the sample out on a key, so let’s say C4. You can either do this on the EXS24 Sampler which comes stock in logic or if you have another VST that can handle drag and drop audio files like Ana 2 Synth or Omnisphere (which I personally use) you can drag and drop the audio file there. Then you can choose which pads to trigger the sample like I showed in this video and you should be able to perform using the samples! Hope this helps!
I've had this Keyboard for a year. Starting using the pads and knobs, etc recently as I have started trying to compose my own music. My question is dumb: how do I relaod the stuff I set to my pads? I see the save and load options, and tried them, but can't seem to relaod them once I switch to a different pad preset then switch back (eg: green preset, orange preset, etc.).

Hey!
Sorry not following? Are you trying to assign the sounds to the pads or your keyboard?
@@Johnmunstudios That did it!
Awesome!!! 🙌🏽
Bro can we put samples in to this pad?
Actually yes, I only know of one way of doing that at the moment so If anyone reading this knows of more ways feel free to comment!
So you need to first map the sample out on a key, so let’s say C4. You can either do this on the EXS24 Sampler which comes stock in logic or if you have another VST that can handle drag and drop audio files like Ana 2 Synth or Omnisphere (which I personally use) you can drag and drop the audio file there.
Then you can choose which pads to trigger the sample like I showed in this video and you should be able to perform using the samples!
Hope this helps!
How to end the Map ?
I've had this Keyboard for a year. Starting using the pads and knobs, etc recently as I have started trying to compose my own music.
My question is dumb: how do I relaod the stuff I set to my pads? I see the save and load options, and tried them, but can't seem to relaod them once I switch to a different pad preset then switch back (eg: green preset, orange preset, etc.).
Check out this video I made more in-depth on pad maps. This will explain how to map and save your pad maps.

Hope this helps!
@@Johnmunstudios Thanks! I'll give it a look.
@@Johnmunstudios Update, the other vid solved my issues! Thanks a bunch man. Turns out I simply was not hitting 'Enter' adter mapping them.
Also, subbed to you on my music channel. Thanks a bunch again, and stay awesome! ✌
Awesome! Glad to hear that! 🙏🏽 will do and thank you so much!
How to save voice at the bank?
Great. Thanks! ✌🏻
You’re welcome!
Just curious if you programmed the remaining sliders to channel volumes on your Nestor 88?
I personally did not. I only use faders and knobs to do specific parameter controls.
Tankq bro 🖒
lol my set does not change to cc
Weird, that’s the only way to get to that menu. Try powering off/on?
@@Johnmunstudios I did but it still doesn't work, ill try with my DAW closed and let you know if it works.
If it does not work, try doing a factory reset on the Keyboard!
Press and hold the Octave up + Octave down buttons. While still holding the Octave up + Octave down buttons, turn on the Impact. Release both Octave buttons after 2 seconds.
Let me know!
@@Johnmunstudios yes i already tried that yesterday, also it now works when i tried with my DAW closed haha
Awesome! I’m glad you got it to work! 🙌🏽
