Excellent teaching from an excellent TEACHER. I first bow down to you as you are my teacher here. I'm wondering that how you are giving this teaching to everyone free. May the DIVINITY give you all strength for your fantabulous service.
This is SO wonderful. Thank you so so much! As a westerner trying to understand and honor the tradition and true practice of yoga, this is immensely helpful in my self education.
Easterner and westerner are the labels man has created Jason. Any one sincere in the pursuit of the absolute knowledge is deserving for that (Adhikari in Sanskrit). We do not know our past. It is a black box. You have done enough effort in the past lifes, so you are able to pick it up and appreciate it. I am happy for you.
Excellent answer to the question that , "was Patanjali a single sage? " The incredible works in different fields that our enlightened beings did was difficult for the logical minds to understand. Good explanation
You have no idea what you are doing. This knowledge has the power to change the world and you have taken a big step in that direction, just like some other great rishis and gurus 🙏🏼🙏🏼
That was such a great point about Shankaracharya, and how in the future we may imagine he was not just one person, even though we know he was, just like people speculate about other older rishis.
This is just pure gold, thank you so much for this, I was searching for original one but was not getting it, you put it so well and so much hard work you have done.... thanks a lot once again
If you look from above downards in the sense of creation it'is Ahankar, chitta, Budhi and last is mind. If u c it from below upwards in view of sadhaka, it is mind, Budhi, chitta and ahankar
I learnt some Sanskrit in school decades ago. I started following this to learn a little bit about yoga sutras. But you have given me tremendous incentive to go back and learn Sanskrit again. Some of the words are familiar because of their coomon usage or from slokas. But kudos to you for making us want to learn more
This must be taught to all kids in school instead of stupid history and management or how to be successful kind of studies As I think we are taking this world to greed and survival of fittest instead of living a happy and gratitude life and being empathetic and coexistence with all . Learning to be one living in oneness
Sutra 2.20, the seer perception seing himself in a Third Party angle. Is just like a football match between Team A and Team B, originaly the Seer is the member of Team A, but he "Pratyaya" withdrawal himself from Team A, and making himself as an Audiance watching the match, without support any team and having no feeling for both Team lost or win the match. Purely at the position of Observer. This topic also appear in the Rigveda, Rishi Devata Chandass Samhita.
DHARMA parivartan swaiccha se becomes very much essential in order to break free from the shackles ( chains/ obstacles) that comes in the way of yoga. Here conversion is elevating the SOUL into the realms of higher dimensions that is ALWAYS KALYANAKARI i.e.BENEVOLENT Whereas the conversions (forced) based on ones religious identity is ALWAYS VIOLENT.
It is TRUE that our sages and saints were bestowed with various उपाधियां on acquiring the prescribed knowledge of that उपाधि. Hi , im from kerala ur doubt on vysa , i think i can clear it atleast i can share my knowledge from kerala vedic that my gurunathan taught me. Explanation is as follows: Consider circle as whole knowledge of veda and do u know diameter of a circle is known as व्यास i.e vyasa is one who knows the whole length/ depth of knowlede in vedas. There is no negative impact to the social interactions based on the Yoga Sutras.. There is a proper state of Mind for each such interaction and social/personal transaction.. and one is in one for the Four Ashrams.. These are preparatory steps towards the final goal. and how you perceive and relate each interaction with the people you come across !! and in the last 2 ashrams, these are put to practice and remember one has to leave his body, by himself and none else accompanies him, from here, apart from The Lord !! So Its more of what is the Ashram one is in, and how you prepare yourself towards that final Purushartha of Moksha and how we practice them in the last 2 ashrams.. so its more on the way we handle the situations by the proper use of the Mind.. and the study of the Yoga Sutras is in no manner, confined to a particular Ashram.. so there is no negative impact why because one is in a different ashram !! The study can be taken up in any stage.. and how one applies it in a particular situation, when it is demanded out of you !! Good Luck !!
And, btw, one can pass through life events and every single transaction and interaction with a Neutral Mind !! The Mind that doesnt get attached to the outcome or the results, but rather take it with a neutral state !! Such People, accept every outcome/results, (no matter what it is), with a neutral mind !!

Thank you so much for this treasure! But my I politely offer a slight correction based on other translations of Sutras that I have seen. Why not? Patanjali is a high evolved spiritual being and manifestation of Brahman like us all. Only in Indic faiths can you elevate a human to the status of a god. In Abrahamic faith that would be blasphemous.
