There’s an art to keeping drawings very simple when it comes to comics. Mort Walker was one of the PRIME examples of that being done right. I’d say for any aspiring comic creators, start writing and drawing comic strips; it’s a lost art for sure.

Mort definitely doesn't look 87,and he's still going.
Apparently longevity runs in the family. His sister, born four years after him, died just last September, in 2021, at age 94.
