Actually yes. In dutch they're called 'werven' and they are very unique for Utrecht. Basically ships could drop off goods on those and could then be placed immediately in the cellars :)
@@wanderingthomas Sorry but they aren't unique for Utrecht. In Leeuwarden you also have it, though at a much smaller scale. I even heard once a cityguide say that Utrecht copied it from Leeuwarden and built it on a larger scale, but I can't confirm if that is true.
