    What is the purpose of the power kit? Necessary, Works without it? Is that just a wireless dongle to ring the bell?

    • @yves9893
      @yves9893 11 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, pretty much. You could go without it if wanting to go, for example, with the plug in Ring Chime device. Your wired Ring doorbell and pluged in Ring chime will find each other so the ring chime goes off when you press the doorbell. So that thing is just to trigger the traditional doorbell.

    If you want to flush it in the wall so that nobody can yank it out, is there a video on that? I want to use some sort of box inside the wall and use mortar to hold it in and then install my Nest doorbell. Can anyone link me to a video that can help me to do that?

  • @stevebachman9076
    @stevebachman9076 6 месяцев назад

    Replacing a Nest Camera as it quit and Google no longer supports it. Also and sadly one of my low voltage wires broke off inside my stucco wall so I’m going to the battery option and going to buy a backup battery. My question is because it’s on the side wall not front facing outward would you recommend the wedge for mounting to face outward and get a little better view? With the battery pro version I don’t think it include the wedge so probably have to buy it separately. Thanks in advance for your reply!

    • @dycedarg19
      @dycedarg19 3 месяца назад

      I know this is 3 mos old and you probably figured this out by now, but hopefully you went with the wedge. Without it, you would have view of the door and the opposite side with maybe limited view of what’s in front of the door. With the wedge, I can see who is coming from the left and front of the door. I have another camera on the blind spot area. Hopefully everything worked out for you!

    • @jhodson
      @jhodson Год назад

      @@ApartmentMaintenancePro It’s manufactured by Nutone Covill and it has various markings regarding voltage. At the top is 24V 20VA. On the lower left: 8V. On the lower right: 16V. That is 3 prongs total and they are all connected to a wire. I tried all possible combinations with the Power Kit. None seemed to make any difference. And today I talked to a Ring specialist and the resolution they came up with was to send me a replacement Pro 2. So that’s where I am in the process.

      to have anything to do with the MFG, also let me look at the camera on my home laptop. All my house cameras work that way letting me use a computer to see the video or my cell phone with a app that lets me look at all my cameras regardless of the MFG. Ring can change their policy at a moments notice and you have no choice but to get a new doorbell should they force you into a subscription just to get notifications and see who is at your door.
