Despite the whitewashing of several of his bad qualities, including abandoning his dying first wife and their children, I like that he has sort of repaired his relationship with his daughter and tried to be a good human being. Most of my goodwill for the Dutts is because of his parents, Sunilji and Nargisji, both incredible actors and even greater human beings

Vicky Kaushal stole the movie. first time i saw Vicky Kaushal in this movie. And i was like bro who is he, his acting was so good in this. And Ranbir Kapoor is already well known actor i like him too, i watched his so many movies but this one is one of favourite. Waiting for the next part.

This movie, just like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is another attempt of Rajkumar Hirani to clean the image of Sanjay Dutt and showcase him as a victim of bad influence, misconceptions, media trial rather than a grown man making bad decisions. Back in 90s, when the big production houses weren't there yet, bollywood run heavily on mafia money. His affiliation with mafia wasn't hidden, and he was allegedly involved in hiding the arms of accused group 93 Mumbai bomb-blasts that killed over 257 innocent civilians. Kudos to Indian Judicial System who put him behind bars, despite his powerful lawyers trying best to create a false narrative. Indian Judiciary doesn't care how their sentence or in court proceedings are portrayed or depicted to the outside world, the job is done as soon the verdict is made. And That's where Sanjay Dutt family's bollywood connections played their part, from times and again, creating another made-up narrative to save his public image and career
Please see tone of storytelling, softer frames and comical music is used in the entire movie, to somehow tone-down the intensity of a deplorable act as per society - being involved in drugs, sleeping with his friends gf and so many others, been associated with a terrorist attack.

This film was made to wash the image of criminal Sanjay Dutt. I don't hate him but his past was questionable and this movie was meant to correct that image by false narrating his story with an emotional touch,
But Ranbir did a very good job as an actor in this film, He was amazing as a Sanju👍🏻
