This discussion brought back memories I rarely want to remember. The first thing I can remember as a toddler was seeing my Father lying on a couch with his arm over his head. He had come back from World War 2 in an iron lung because he had contracted polio in his lungs. He decided he didn't want to live like that any more and was removed from the iron lung.I toddled up to him and when he saw me get close he pushed me away so hard I fell backward and started crying. It was many years later that I realized I had seen him die right after that and understood that he was trying to protect me. I am 72 now, but when I was in my twenties I applied for a job as a dishwasher and a lung scan was required. It showed that I also had polio in my lungs but my immune system kicked in and I was okay. My mom remarried and when she went on her honeymoon, she left me and my younger sister with her mother. One day I saw my sister try to play with a snake in my grandmother's back yard. I wanted to run out of the house and help her. My grandmother prevented me from doing that. I told her I would tell mom what she did.....big mistake. My grandmother at night picked me up and threw me against the walls and ceiling of the bedroom, laughing at me the whole time. I had a nightmare of that nearly every night all the way into my forties when one night I recognized who it was that was laughing and throwing me against the walls in the dark. I never had that nightmare again. I am now 72 years old. Ironically, when my grandmother was very old and my mom was taking care of her, my grandmother, terrified, didn't remember her own daughter, my mom, but remembered me when I visited my mom. My grandmother would every couple of minutes, scared to death, call for me and say "Randy, Randy who am I, who am I". I would tell her she was my grandmother and she would be O.K. for a few minutes and then we would just keep repeating this scenario. I cannot really tell you what that was like for me. I was comforting the woman who had caused me so much terror for many years. Probably the worst case of Alzheimer's I have ever seen. There are no words to explain what that was like for me. Later I married a woman who was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist. But i didn't know that when we married. Our marriage was going sour, and she told me that she would be going back to Church and if I didn't go with her, she would divorce me. So, I did.....and an 80 year old ex SDA evangelist, John Ford, showed an interest in me, and took me under his wing. His love for Jesus was his strong point, and because of him I share that also. For much of my early life I had no control over what happened to me. John Ford's interest in me and his love for Jesus is the most significant reason for me becoming a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. I'm sharing this, because there may be someone reading this that is just as scarred as me, maybe worse. Please remember that this life is temporary, that Jesus can heal your scars, and even if your nightmare is still present, remember this life is short. Jesus in his second coming will erase those scars, that suffering forever. They will be erased and forgotten forever, with the promise of living in a perfect Universe, restored. The negative effects of Satan's rebellion will be gone and forgotten forever. God bless this ministry, and God bless you all.
Randall, I can feel your broken heart and how you were healed. I am so impressed by it, and have also learned from it. Thank you so much for sharing it. My mother had alzheimers and when I told her I loved her so much, she pushed me away and said "I am not your mother". My heart has ached over that all my life. But through your testimony I realize it wasn't my mom, it was the influence of Satan. He will use anything to hurt and discourage us. Big hugs to you, my friend! Jesus is coming soon!
I found myself teary eyed while watching this, oh how i wish everyone grew up from a Godfearing families... I feel so sorry to some brothers i know who've gone through such mistreatment that lead him to what he has become... I lift them up to you Father, i know ur the only one who can fix them
God I will let you fight my battles for me. No matter our struggle, we can turn to God. He can give us strength to overcome anything. I want to give up and quit but my faith is too strong even though it’s hard I keep faith because I trust in God. I keep faith even as I struggle to take care of my children. The past two years have been hard on me. I’m a single mom. I suffered an heart attack and I’m battling lupus. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m constantly struggling to buy groceries and struggling to pay my rent and now that I’m home schooling my sons I’m struggling to buy the things I need to teach them. I don’t know how I’m going to get through but It’s important to keep faith especially in hard times. I Trust in YOU LORD. I know you will provide. Faith over fear!
Lamentation 3: 22-25 is the promise I am meditating on. I am also praying for wisdom and a breakthrough. Let us keep trusting, He is faithful and He promised He will never leave us or forsake us until the end. ❤
God healed me from trauma of what I experienced from my adopted father.. God helped me to forgive him.. when we come to God with sincere heart to heart talk and maintain closer relationship with Him.. God will.comfort us and make us shine and be a blessing to others
Get therapy also, so that you can move positively in your life, hope one day you get to confront that person and let others know what happened to you..DO NOT KEEP THIS TO YOURSELF, SATAN WILL ALWAYS SHAME YOU. EXPOSE THAT PERSON.IT'S A HEAVY LOAD TO CARRY..FREE YOURSELF
I'm writing fr Jamaica. I read but I don't always remember what I read to relate it to others. Plz pray for me so that I can see and know my purpose in the church. I am a member of the Negril Seventh Day Adventist Church. My God continue to bless u all.
😊 I am in Kingston. I would read and have difficulties remembering too. So listening to other programs that discuss the lesson is what helps the lesson stick to memory
The very fact that you want a purpose is very refreshing. Maybe evagelism isn't your spiritual gift. Think about what you are good at. Is it music, teaching children, community service, etc.? What comes to your mind naturally? Whatever your talent is, use it for The Lord's service. God will bless your efforts!
Gleny thank you for performing the Scripture song. You have a beautiful voice, God has given you a wonderful gift of music. God bless you abundantly🕯🙏 🎼🎶
Hope sabbath school lesson study family, you people are great. I thank God and give Him glory for what He is using you to do for us Amen. I am a Nigerian. God bless you all.
Children , obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.. I was sexually abused by my adopted father from my younger age..I alway obey him . But when I grow and became matured enough to understand ...then God helped me understand to obey him in the Lord. And obeying what he wants in order to satisfy his lust is not in the Lord. So I disobeyed him and ran away from home and joined missionary. God blessed me giving me loving husband and thank God for giving us 5 children. God will guide us how to obey our parents in the Lord.
Good morning hope Sabbath school this lesson all of us learn something how to teach our children's in the right way it's a beautiful thing when we know God many don't grow their children in Christ please God help them
I was first introduced to Hope Sabbath through one of my Sabbath school teachers a couple years ago. Since then whenever possible I tune in. The way that the lessons are conducted brings new insight into the lessons and Bible studies. May God continue to bless you, your team members and your families as you share this message to all the world in this generation.
Amen! I love this panel with a mixture of different people, different backgrounds and different experiences, and no matter what, we all worship one God, our heavenly Father. Love the discussion, never underestimate the power of our Lord and our God, keep trusting, keep the faith. May He bless us all. Cannot wait for His returning. God bless us all.
Watching here from Philippines..working here in Saudi Arabia..I'm so blessed from all the learnings you have shared to me and to us all..God bless you more ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Hope Sabbath School Your lesson study has been my inspiration and companion for several years May the almighty God continue bless this ministry ❤
Greetings pastor. Am writing from Jamaica am a member of the seventh Day Adventist and a grandmother of a seven years old child who is living with me .She wants to get baptize but her mother isn’t allowing us to go ahead. So she said to me grandma we can do so and mom wouldn’t know. Please pray for us and her mom 🙏🥲. Thank you and God Bless. Am also a member of you sabbath school I listened every Friday and it helps me in class on sabbaths
Amen. All glory to God. Thanks for another powerful and exciting study. There is really never a dull moment at Hope Sabbath School. The best school to be a part of !!! Learning and growing in the wisdom and grace of God. Blessings.🙏
Hey 👋 hope sabbath school, hope channel is one of my favorite platform, when i tune on hope channel,i feel very excited and have great joy, keep that spirit transforming us, I'm watching live in south Sudan 🇸🇸 juba
This is a wonderful lesson study. As a social worker and psychotherapist I have met so many distressed and dysfunctional children who have been hurt by their parents. Most of the parents were themselves abused as children. We must as a church dedicate special periods of time in prayer for the healing in these families, as there is so much hurt, pain and unhappiness. God's love is a healing balm that deals with all suffering. Thank you again for such a great lesson and practical application of God's word. Amen 🙏 ❤
Jesus needs a helper to reach out to the children. Sabina is suggesting that healthy people should reach out to the children and help them for Jesus. And God is amazing, He used Eli, the priest, to guide little Samuel (from a polygamous/dysfunctional family✍️🌱) in the way of God. Eli had his own lot but God gave him the responsibility/an honour/a second chance to raise for God, a godly offsprings to carry on priesthood (seraphim and cherubim are to preserve/protect the Written Word of God in the Ark and pass it on from generation to generation) God loved Eli, He never gave up on him. God honoured Hannah, she was a faithful woman, committed and depended on divine power. Who would take her child to be raised in a family that was the talk of its time in dishonoring God? God's goodness is amazing, He can bring healing to both Eli and to Hannah because He loves them Nancy, speak life to only one child, it is something for Jesus. Retell the story of Jabez to one child, it is something for Jesus.🎉 May God expand your territory as you seek opportunities to expand your ability to serve God's purposes. Pray for open doors to reach out to more precious jewels for Jesus The story of Jabez has lessons for all children in circumstances and situations. We need a helping hand from heaven to be kept from evil and for a breakthrough. God's goodness manifests itself even in darkness. God is the Father of the fatherless and He does solo parenting. He did so to Moses while in the palace, to Naaman's slave girl in Syria, to little Samuel. Mama to Samuel visited him once a year. Child training requires wisdom from above (Divine support). How Jochobed left Amram's son floating on water and entrusted Miriam to watch over Moses, float on the Nile River. Divine power hand in hand with healthy people can help children to float on water (problems) Jabez prayed to be delivered from evil and pain. Help us Lord to sustain us through every trial remembering that every obstacle can be a chance to grow spiritually. "Not only so, but we[a] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." as Romans 5:3-5 indicates. Choosing to honour God in mind and actions is trusting in God. His eyes/ Spirit roams to and fro to strengthen those who are committed to Him 2 Chronicles 16:9
Amen! Another great, very delicate and important lesson. Always a blessing listening to you all. Please keep me in your prayers..tks, happy Sabbath, prayers and special blessings! Amen 🙏🙏🙏😇📖🔥🔥🔥💝😊🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶❤👍
I just feel the need to mention this.....and it is, I LOVE and APPRECIATE your presentation....... everything soooo practical, people can identify, and relate, and I'm sure will find healing in JESUS....there is just no way that anyone listening to the lesson walk away with heavy hearts. Pastor Morris GOD is really using you and the team as balms of Gilead, speaking straight to the heart to everyone listening, bringing healing and comfort. May GOD continue to bless HSS in JESUS NAME
Remember when the child Jesus stay behind while His parents left to go home and when they found Him He said do you not know that I must be about my Father's business. My paraphrase, but after that the scriptures says that he was subject unto them after that. I believe that provoke the child to anger means to be over bearing to the child.
Greetings hope Sabbath school, I'm always moved and touched by your teachings every week,I enjoy and learn alot from you, last Sabbath I tried to sing the song theme " I therefore beseech you to walk worthy of your calling" May God bless all of you abundantly understanding, knowledge, peace, love and mercy and continue teaching the word of God....Am watching from Namibia
In the beginning of the lesson, Counsel to Children, I wanted to say something. In the ten commandments mentions (the fifth one), to honor thy father and thy mother. The word "honor" is there but not "obey". God still wants us to obey but this is a great example of honoring: Daniel to king Nebuchadnezzar and King Darius. The way he still honors but never went against God our Father. I hope this makes sense. And it says in Ephesians 6:1 it does say obey your parents IN THE LORD. Obey your parents "in the Lord".
Eli, lost his sons because he neglected them and their need for good parenting, and acts of a father's love. His children because rebellious and he lost them as a result. Parents and guardians need to create balance, by taking time for God's Work and their child/children/ family, needs; Spiritual, emotional, etc. May God 🙏 help us.
The old testament says,,EXODUS 21:16 SAYS IF A PERSON IS KIDNAPPED AND SOLD AS A SLAVE THE PERSON WHO KIDNAPPED AND SOLD HIM ,OR THE ONE IN WHOM THE STOLEN PERSON IS FOUND IN POSSESSION OF THAT PERSON ,SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH.
This is not on topic, but it is very interesting. In Revelation 21:16 it says the New Jerusalem is a cube with each side being 12,000 furlongs. A furlong is 660 ft. long. That makes the New Jerusalem approximately the size of Colorado! That's not all of heaven, just the city. God must be planning for a lot of people to be there. I sure hope to be one of them and hoping to see you there too.
Yes, this not on topic but I'm so glad for bringing it up. Just yesterday I was having a Bible discussion about the New Jerusalem with a lady, and she was thinking how will heaven hold everybody. I explained to her about the description of the city in Revelation 21:16, is only the city. I told her that there will be no more sea and that is three quarters of the earth, so just think of all that space we will have to enjoy. So thank you so much for allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you in your comment just because God wanted to re-confirm that to me.
It seems, the early part of the discussion, went out of track. Obey the parents in the lord. It is a mandatory commandment of the lord for the blessings of the life..
Watching the lesson I was reminded how I had an deacon of a church hit on me at my job. I didn’t not know he was an deacon. till I arrived at church and I was like I am done with church. It wasn’t just him but other things from other people and I was like these people are supposed to be examples. My mother told me they are still people. They are not Jesus . You will loose your soul watching people. Look to Jesus. He is our example
Ephesians 6:4a "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath" I am thinking of two fathers and their provocations towards their children. Jacob having many wives can be a provocation to some children especially those of the unloved wives. Jacob showing favouritism to Joseph Limping Jacob did not do anything when Dinah was raped. He was not ready to fight, the Lord had exhausted his energies and dislocated the hip bone. So the boys went out to kill people without their father's agreement. Would David, after taking Uriah's wife, correct his son Amnon? David, doing nothing to Amnon, provoked Absolom and anger advanced to 3rd degree. Tamar must have been shocked by his brother's action towards Amnon. She had sought peace with Amnon and for the sake of her father's kingdom and glory, but Amnon hated her and Absolom worsened the situation. Our actions affect one another. Abraham had to keep his 8 children separate from one another and Hannah had to take her son to be raised by a priest, other than staying in a home where Peninah was provoking Hannah. Samuel would have stood with his mother to protect her. Fathers, do not provoke your children. Love their mothers❤ so that love is passed on to the next generation. Every child needs to be born out of Love, from Love, in Love, through Love, for Love. 1.Tamar refused to submit to Amnon 2. Bathsheba submitted to king David and David cried so much for his first child with Bathsheba. His son died in his place. David had to be stoned to death. God gently teaches us His way and He disciplines those He loves Vashti refused to undress herself in the presence of her husband's friends for Jesus' sake For Bathsheba's case, kings take people's lands, and grapes and wives!. Nabboth did not give away his grape field. The king took by force, stole from Nabboth😮 and David stole from Uriah. Those are the consequences of wanting a king to rule over us, instead of God. Thank God, He is establishing His Kingdom Daniel 2:44 44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.
You must tell your parents that I believe in God and he is my life and I want to obey you in the Lord, but you are refusing the Lord as my parents, but I respect you both, but not over God.
If a child opens it's mouth to teach its parents, sometimes, it is not taken in good spirit and it is termed as disrespect. An 'Elijah' (elder, pastor, family friend) must offer one'self sacrificially (living sacrifice) and help both parents and children to find a levelled ground Malachi 4:5-6“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.” Elijah makes sure that the relationship/bond is not broken. Elijah knows what it means to be on the run, so Elijah should help, reasoning with parents and children😊 Jesus is inviting us to reason together in Isaiah 1:18. Elijah (Holy Spirit) should set another altar today for reasoning. Moses is representing the Law of God and Transfiguration/transformation will happen if parents and child watch and pray (cooperate) . Body of Christ bears one another in love. We need Divine help which could be through people around us. God loves to see us helping one another. Senior parents can help young parents. We work towards unifying family members😊🎉Tough but with Jesus in vessel, we can smile at the storm😊
in those cultures where a man continues to be respected, there are very few divorces, and where women and children are extolled over a man, the family has become a rare phenomenon. the Advetist church of vneglasng supports feminism.
Whoever wrote the lesson has a toxic mindset… comparing childhood and slavery ?!! Who approved this?! Who approved for this nonsense to be placed in sabbath school lesson ? Disgusting

Divine power hand in hand with healthy people can help children to float on water (problems)
Jabez prayed to be delivered from evil and pain.
Children have always suffered even in the time of Messiah, remember what He said about hurting one of them.

May GOD continue to bless HSS
in JESUS NAME
Thank You Lord for Your Grace and Mercy.
Amen.
Thankyou
Remember when the child Jesus stay behind while His parents left to go home and when they found Him He said do you not know that I must be about my Father's business. My paraphrase, but after that the scriptures says that he was subject unto them after that. I believe that provoke the child to anger means to be over bearing to the child.
Be role models, parents... Parenting is a challenge, a blessing given.
Amen 🙌🙌

Hallelujah Amen and always excited studying with Hope Sabbath school family members. Thank you for your ministry brothers and sisters.
We can stand for Jesus

The old testament says,,EXODUS 21:16 SAYS IF A PERSON IS KIDNAPPED AND SOLD AS A SLAVE THE PERSON WHO KIDNAPPED AND SOLD HIM ,OR THE ONE IN WHOM THE STOLEN PERSON IS FOUND IN POSSESSION OF THAT PERSON ,SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH.
Thank you hope sabbath school...it was indeed a great lesson.
Adults should be loving carertakers and prayerleaders to whom broken choldren can run.
Please pray for my grand daughter and I,
TOGOD BE THE GLORY AMEN 🙏🙏🙏!!!
Hope Channel, please do not delete my comment. I want to use these testimonies on Sabbath.

Ephesians 6:4a
"And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath"
I am thinking of two fathers and their provocations towards their children.
Jacob having many wives can be a provocation to some children especially those of the unloved wives.
Jacob showing favouritism to Joseph
Limping Jacob did not do anything when Dinah was raped.
1.Tamar refused to submit to Amnon
2. Bathsheba submitted to king David and David cried so much for his first child with Bathsheba. His son died in his place. David had to be stoned to death. God gently teaches us His way and He disciplines those He loves
Vashti refused to undress herself in the presence of her husband's friends for Jesus' sake
For Bathsheba's case, kings take people's lands, and grapes and wives!. Nabboth did not give away his grape field. The king took by force, stole from Nabboth😮 and David stole from Uriah. Those are the consequences of wanting a king to rule over us, instead of God.
Thank God, He is establishing His Kingdom Daniel 2:44
44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people.
An 'Elijah' (elder, pastor, family friend) must offer one'self sacrificially (living sacrifice) and help both parents and children to find a levelled ground
Malachi 4:5-6“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
Elijah makes sure that the relationship/bond is not broken. Elijah knows what it means to be on the run, so Elijah should help, reasoning with parents and children😊
Jesus is inviting us to reason together in Isaiah 1:18.
I have been having challenges with my daughter please pray for us
in those cultures where a man continues to be respected, there are very few divorces, and where women and children are extolled over a man, the family has become a rare phenomenon. the Advetist church of vneglasng supports feminism.
Whoever wrote the lesson has a toxic mindset… comparing childhood and slavery ?!! Who approved this?! Who approved for this nonsense to be placed in sabbath school lesson ? Disgusting
