"I tell you what" You are a very thoughtful man Mr Shoaf. i have also noticed you are a very kind & caring to others. This world would be a far better place with more like you ......
Your a very knowledgeable Canadian. I appreciate your compassion for humanity. Great to see your emotions about war. Your right WOW! Everyone needs to do more gardening. Keep up the great work. And great videos
Always meant to visit. Thanks for sharing. I did my basic regular force engagement (4 yrs) in the early 90's and finished at CFB Esquimalt near Victoria. I spent my whole service time on Canadian soil so I don't have any exciting stories. I was supposed to be assigned to the HMCS Saskatchewan (262) and I negotiated my way out with the career officer because there was only 6 months left in my contract. The same year I ended service, the Saskatchewan was reefed near Nanaimo, BC. I'll always remember the Bombardier Iltis. What a horrible vehicle. I'm glad they went with the G wagon as a replacement for people on actual operations. It probably saved some lives. I read that they are planning on replacing the G wagon now.
The effort it took for everyone around the world to fight for everyone's freedom was a monumental effort, lest we forget, thank you Avery and your camera man for reminding us that the sacrifice men and women did then as well as today will never be forgotten
When you said, " it's interesting what humanity does to humanity for some bodies' quest and it's not the peoples quest." Yesterday for some reason I looked up how many war's the USA has been in since 2003 and wars that they have been instrumental in with supplying weapons. I was utterly shocked at all that wars that has gone on all over the world since that date. I was dumbfounded to discover how large the list was. INcluding all the wars that American military weapon suppliers has funded by the US, Sweden, Germany, Canada, England the UK and you name it. The military industrial war complex and the Medical industrial complex and even the Schoolboard has so much power over the masses it's freaking scary. You think the war museum brings out emotion, I went to the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Israel when I walk out of the building I was completely overwhelmed almost broke down bawling my eyes out. I was shocked to my core. I couldn't believe what I saw, I was utterly shocked at what man could do towards another human being. I had to be alone for a half hour or more before I could go and join back up with the group that we had come with.
One of my favourite videos youve done yet avery. Hopefully places like this remind us all to never let war like that happen again. Unfortunately, the way everyone around the world folded and got there vaccines and fell into line without so much as a second thought suggests that if the government recommend it,,, the people will blindly follow.
Glad you made it down to view Canadian war history. It is an integral part of our heritage & shows the incredible tenacity of our grandparents generations. Bless them all🙏🏻
thank you Avery for this magnificent film at the museum. it's always a joy to see you but in particular it was a great idea to show us this magnificent museum so a big thank you again
Mr.Avery i feel that was the best under the wire job ive seen yet! !!!! Now im a airborne veteran who wants to say what you cant ! Canadians stand up for for your heritage we are at war again! From within be proud stand your ground its because of our families past gives these wokesters the ability to attack our god given rights to crown country and freedoms and to pretend were the wdong and the woke is all right! Take Mr.Averys advice visit a legion or a museum history tells the tale not woke politicians! Thank you Mr.avery for your bravery!!!! Luv u &mike! 💪
Thank you Avery for bringing up the comment Don Cherry had said . He was correct and it is very sad for what the people including my father fought for in WW2 . They would all roll over in there graves today if they could see where are country is at today . It is very sad . Thanks for the tour I hope to make it there someday and see the history
Hello, As a volunteer of The Canadian war museum in the Vehicle restoration shop (Tank Shop) the Universal Carrier you were looking for is in the shop waiting a coat of painted and some restoration.
This episode was like a "Canadian Heritage moment" commercial with Avery giving us his own version of a history lesson as he would stop like he was in contemplation and then exit left as Matt would zoom into the artifact 😆 Love it
Mad respect Avery. You’re a good man for realizing that these machines were killing machines and that we don’t have to be killing each other just because a handful of people wants us to.
Avery you are right war is a very terrible and sobering thing, the people that have went through it and their families , do not get enough credit. It is very easy to forget war , and the people that gave their lives for us
I fully agree with you as a veteran I served 79-01 as a mecanic had the honor to rebuilt and drive a Brent carrier and a ferret. And worked on numerous vehicles in different countries. Even if war is a bad thing it was a privilege to serve. Arte et Marte.
Didn’t expect this from Avery. Gear Head has a mind for history. Very cool & I learned in high school history class is that the only thing we learn from history is that we never learn 😕
My father is Polish he died at the age 50 years in 1977 and he was about 15 or 16 years old when he was in the army .His older brother died in Berlin in 1943 he was 26 years old.
For what its worth, we do have a universal carrier with a 2 pounder in the shop right now : ) Interesting comments about the half track having the lights mounted wrong. Ill ask the guys in the shop if they have any insights there.
Avery that's An interesting way to look at it let alone be able to. US has plenty of dirty history were still making more and we are running out of elders that know anything about It if they did know. That's sad to I'd imagine it was very similar up there?
You can tell Avery is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to Military history and equipment, Well just Guns in general and things that Go BOOM!! I bet he's got quiet the collection
"I tell you what"
