Just in front of that wall is the Brokeoff Mountains Wilderness Study Area. To the south is the Guadelupe Mountains National Park and to the east of the bottom bit is the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Just noticed a small town and RV park on top called Queen which has the Guadelupe Christian Centre. All of these locations marked on google are still south of the flight line you took so who knows what the wall is called as that part of it is not labelled. Okay, so you noticed Brokeoff and Carlsbad Caverns. I originally typed it when you asked if anyone knew what it was LOL That "town" on Marathon Road looks like it is just a power generator for the Oil Wells.
So, between hobbs and el paso is nothing but oil fields, north of hobbs you have roswell, eastern new mexico university in Portales and the site of where billy the kid was killed in fort sumner. To the east of Portales in texas is Lubbock and the amarillo north of that.
The wind on landing was crazy. That was a smooth landing. New Mexico has some beautiful scenery
