guys you are so lucky to be able to go out to do this stuff like catching the little critters. I been watching this video and thinking back on my life. Im 68 years old and growing up I didnt have any idea of all the things a person could do. we were pretty poor but had a lot of love. I had six brothers. I was the only girl and the middle child. dont take life for granted or it will pass you by. if you cook this stuff. hey eat one for me...lol..its fun watching you catch these. they got some mean pinches...
This is the first time I know how you catch the crab. Thank you for interesting video.
you do so much better then we do. I always enjoyed the hunt so to speak. the big fish fry's and crab cookouts are great. love to spend it with our family
I was stationed in North Bend many years ago and took my kids to a pier to catch crab. They enjoyed it so much except they would never handle the bait which were fish heads from fish I used to catch in the Rogue River. Man, that male you handled was massive! The purple one was beautiful. We caught the smaller ones and had to measure them. There seemed to be a game warden standing at the end of the pier every time we went. Great video, guys! Good catch, too!
I am old now but I sure wish I was there with you all. I love crabs. Good luck on all you catch and please cook and eat a big one for me. Joy from Semmes Alabama.
i DONT usually comment, but im on the east coast (georgia) and we have the blue crabs like maryland- the way you are handling these crabs is astounding. if we pull a crab trap here you have to be really careful because they are agitated and agressive -its almost hard to get them in the bucket these crabs on the other hand you are touching them all over with no threat
I bet a lot of people keep them no matter the size. Respect for following the regs.
Nice video, I used to love dungeness crab living in So. Calif. However, I moved to Seattle and loved king crab much more.
Wonderful video....My respect for your " Rigth size" of the crab.Compliments for video And Your enyoiable friendship , makes me happy.Salutes from 🇸🇪
Hi, Stefan. Thanks for stopping by. Tight lines.
Wow! What an awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
We do this in Bandon, OR and Crescent City, CA. Love crab fishing. Great video!
Eric Sims how big are the crab in crescent city?
I love Bandon! Try to get there to charter fish at least a couple times a year. Going to try around Charleston, for crabbing soon.
Love watching. Made me hungry. I had all kinds of receipts running through my head. This came across my feed. Thank you for sharing. Now I want to eat crab.
Me too....seasons of 🦀

Great to see y'all wearing life jackets. To many die in Florida boating accidents not using them. Lost folks I knew also. Safe fishing. 84 year old fisherman. 🐻
Wow ! Lots of Crabs, I like also crabs, yummy. How much for 1 kilo Alex, what place is this
I could NEVER live on the west coast but, Oregon is one state I'd like to visit again. GREAT VIDEO!! Subd!!
Brings back great memories
fun time, reminds me of when I was a kid and we'd catch crabs in the salt water marsh.
I like this video i understand because he's speaking in english that's great thankyou
Awesome channel bro! I just subbed. I'm in Eugene but spend a lot of time on the coast.
👍👍👍👍
How long does it take a dungeness crab to achieve market size?
PK, what do you do with that much crab? of course, the obvious thing is to cook and eat it fresh, but what do you find yourself doing when you're tired of eating crab, or have run out of friends/relatives to give them to? I can only hope to have that kind of problem on my hands, but it would be interesting to know what others do with fresh crab you can't eat (for now). Steam, then freeze? Or, cook and keep the meat fridgerated? I heard blue crab can stay alive in the fridge for 3 days if kept cool with saltwater. A day of rest in between chowing down fresh crab would be something. Thanks for another inspiring video!
I have a big family, we usually eat our limit (12) with no left overs.
How do you like those folding pots compared to the round ones that don't flold PK>?
nice video! I just moved to North Bend. Cant wait to try this!
nice. good luck, they are good eatin'.
Isn't it like 100 miles to the coast from North Bend?
+borntorazehell777 - LOL - Driving 100 Miles + Time + Coffee + Etc... = $25.00.... Might as well take $25.00 and buy some Crabs with it, LMFAO !!!
@@JodBronson some people like to catch their own. What's wrong with that? Not you' re money so go f yourself.
@@borntorazehell777 North Bend is on the north side of Coos Bay, (largest bay in Oregon). You are probably thinking of Bend, OR which is on the east side of the state and more than 100 miles from the coast.
We have to wait till November before we can start doing this, again. Hopefully we won't have another Demoic Acid problem, again.
Fuck yea dude had everything but crab. Abalone, salmon, halibut, striper but no crab.
ya hopefuly not... that was really sad
RB. Guide Service l
should of kept the purple one (Red Rock Crab). It was HUGE for its species. Legal here in BC.
Worst pain I've EVER felt in my life was a Dungeness claw pinch on the finger ...no joke...lol
So nice and big crab !!
Great Video. Thank You...
Hi how are you today sir, what state are you live in now sir and what city and park are you to go trap the crab, if you don’t mind can you let me know thank sir, have a good day
Sir, if I had the money I'd buy you a much bigger boat and just go with you. You seem like such a cool guy.
You keep saying three is the limit. What do you mean? Is it three dozen? What is the limit?
13c11a
12 keepers per lícensor
that was a red rock and it was a keeper to my knowledge there is no size limit on red rock.
Wonderful video thanks!
At 2:20 looks like a perfect scenario for Godzilla to raise up out of the water... Spooky... 😱😰
Coming to Oregon to crab fish, would like to meet you and maybe spend a day on the water................
Hi PK, I found some crab pots on amazon that look like yours 24x24x14 and the fold up, can you tell me if these are similar to yours and how do you like them?
Thank you,
The black square ones? If so, then yea. They are good, I like them a lot. Cheap and catches a lot of crabs. If you get them, I suggest weighing them down either with a 4# dumb bell, or some other mean.
Awesome! Great catch!
Good job bro🏆
Tempting to self impose a larger size limit, so your overall haul is bigger. Throw it back unless it's at least half an inch bigger than legal?
You should also keep the seaweed, looks good.
Hey me my brother and my father gonna be out that area this coming up year how much you charge to take people out on a little boat to do some crabbing
wow super laki nila
Man the cameraman needs to settle about how big the crabs are...pretty sure if there was no camera he'd be keeping everything
addy113 he can't keep he females and I the bigger they are the more meat there is
You can go to jail for breaking the rules.
oh my i enjoyed watching.....
Another nice trip! Great job buddy!!
wow,,,,, lovely crab..
Hard work and great eating as the rewards.
you were mentioning "limit". Is there a number limit catch? per day?
JoJo Manalang 12 dungeness per person per day
Oh ok. Thank you so much for the information. I love crabs and your video is amazing! Where do you go to catch? Any good month recommendation? Have a great day & enjoy!
coos bay. I should add that only *males* are allowed. you cannot keep females.
Are they radioactive from Fukishima poison?
haa...man, you guys take that aluminum boat everywhere. from the lakes to the bay now
best $200 investment ever
how big is the boat?
14 footer
That really big crabs
Wow nice crabs
Great job men.
WOW! COOS BAY HAVE LARGE CRABS
that is alot of crabs
Amazing....cool...thanks.....
Am I the only one surprised that chicken is used as crab bait?
i was at first but after using it and talking to alot of locals, it's the go to bait.
Para pescar cangrejos en Oregon Seaside necesitas permiso??
Your I good crab fisherman
Fascinating 🤤
I am so hungry now. I was in OR coast a few years ago and some of the locals told me that stopped eating or catching crabs as they believed crabs radiation level was to high. The cause they said was from the fukushima power plant catastrophe. I asked other locals and they said the others were full of crap but it took away my appetite. I wonder where I could trust to find the truth about ocean life and radiation. I do not want an opinion but the truth. One shop tried to sell me one crab for over $30 bucks but I declined.
It ova now,we go home neow. Oh my gahh
What are those ties you are using ?
they're nite ize
+PK Yi : THX
Where do you buy the ties? I got three of those pots for $10 a piece in a sale this month, I look forward to trying our luck on the coast, thanks for the video!
Those are the Nite Ize ties. I got them from home depot for $7 for 2.
Thanks, buddy
is this a chartered trip on the bay? if so can you give me the charter company name and info?
No. This was on my boat. Google "oregon fishing charter" and you'll find plenty
Oh man, I'm so jealous. Crab Season just started in California, and it's been rough! I watch your crabbing vids when I come home empty-handed.
Does the word 'overfishing' not mean anything to you?
That was awesome! Thank you for posting your trip. I've never eaten a dungeness crab before but those must have been delicious.

Fantastoc to.see a purple club
Since I dont live near the coast of North Carolina I can only fish inshore and my favorite thing to catch is crawfish, it is like mini lobster which is similar to crab so technically crayfish is the closest thing to crab I can get
Thank God for your good harvest. I'm so PROUD of you guys. I love you all.
Ever seen those "primitive crab catching videos" where they put the trap in cut the clip and another clip of them pulling it up in a different spot with the whole trap filled to the brim in like 30 minutes? Lol I hate fakers but Oregon lifes videos are 100% really love your videos man!
Used to Live In Oregon. Wonderful State. This vid makes me think to go there and for $19 get a 1 day license. Great catch. 10 years ago I got them live there for 2.50 a Lb.
I did what they told me. 1/2 cup salt per gallon of water. Bring to boil throw in wait for second boil and count 15 min. I added crab boil spice. Fresh catch beats store bought any day.
Yea, for sure. Love fresh Oregon crabs. The limit is quite generous here.
Martin Szy qgclz will
Would you still need a 1 day license, if you just wanted 3 good sized crabs?
Martin Szy it was a wonderful state. Now it's a leftist run shit hole
@@MrUfojunkiedavid Trumptard for sure.
I’ve never been crabbing, is there a limit to how many crab you can take home as a non commercial fisherman? Absolutely fascinating to watch, thank you for sharing/posting. 👍🏼😊
12 male dungeness & 24 red crab in Oregon. The dungies gotta be 5-3/4" in size. No size/sex limit on reds.
I've been crabbing for many many years and if you put the bait on the bottom the crabs won't be on top, they will be more IN the trap! Take the advice from an old crabber!
And I have commercially fished Dungeness for many many years in B.C Canada and can tell you it makes NO difference if bait is top or bottom of a trap.. Have seen riders either way on traps and just as many crab in either as well. LoL, actually it's better for bait to be closer to the top of a trap, less chance of sand fleas, hermit crab, sea snail/slugs ect getting to the bait. An old crabber eh,, what is that, a old crabber fishing in the harbour from a punt with a trap or two is why you know so much.
That purple one was huge and beautiful! I wonder why its purple. What does that mean, hardshell ,softshell?I accidentally found this ,Im enjoying watching thanks for sharing!
I love watching this also..and sure making me hungry for seafood. I would love having a seafood dinner just one more time before I die. its heck on s.s. and cant afford these luxuries. I sure didnt know this is how crabs and lobsters were caught. I guess I thought you used a fishing line and cast out for them to bite, lol
Arya THC yes my hunny is a commercial fisherman and catches dungies he said it’s a rock crab too :)
HiGh🙋♂️commercial fish outta Westport and there's ALLWAYS a ton a crab when dead birds end up in our pots,,kinda curios how they get there considering how deep our pots are
Y'ALL MAKING ME SICK; OUT THERE WITH ALL OF THOSE LOVELY HUGE CRABS!!! I'm THOUGHORLY GREEN WITH ENVY AND I COULD MAKE A GUMBO TO BEAT ALL GUMBOS!!! I MAKE A MEAN GUMBO TOO!!! 💕💞😃 jw.org
Carolyn Williams That makes no sense!!! 😂😂😂😂
God i miss Oregon💙😞 I lived in Newport bay for 2 years and Gresham Oregon for 19 years. Such a beautiful state
I agree. I now live in CA, but I can't wait to move back to Oregon soon.
Lived in AZ all my life. Moved to Oregon for about a year. Stayed in Gresham/ Troutdale area. The rain was amazing. I really miss that place...
Wow !🤭Amazing catch crabs .reminds me When iwas young w/ my Father we catch a lots crabs at muddy and some ocean but my father doesn’t serve the fat one what my mothers favorite 😃
You guys Amazing . Thank You Sharing .watching🇺🇸🥰🇵🇭
Awesome job, thanks for sharing! Just wished the cameramen focused on the crabs more and you need a stabilizer. All the best!
Enjoy watching this vid sev times, my Chinese mom made a mean black bean stir fry crab! Thx vm
👍
I crabbed for the first time tonight in Newport and learned a lot from this video. Thank you :)
thank you
Wow, we used to go to coast for crabbing and get some mussels.
great video man, I am excited watching this. Can I do the same thing here in Southern California? I only saw people use small net catching lobsters and crabs.
I don't think we have dungeness. I know we have spider crabs, but they're worthless. Come winter time you can net lobster.
The Dungeness crab can be found from Alaska as far south as Santa Barbara, CA on a regular basis, and occasionally as far south as Bahía Magdalena, Mexico.
SeikiBrian on a regular basis more like all year round there's a few months when commerical season fewer then but year round there caught
Cool mannever seen this I used to crab in virginia in the army for blue crabs I caught at least a cooler full on weekends cheap easy fun Id fish for catfish n had two cheap crab traps one round n one cage
love all kinds of crabs YUM i just use chicken necks> I'am not giving them the good pieces > Not bad of a haul
great video and great catches.. Went crabbing for the first time up here in Everett Wa, Only caught 4. Gonna have to come down to Coos Bay...take it easy brother....
So how are the big crabs getting into the trap with those little holes. I understand the little ones.really curious 👍🏾👍🏾
They go in as little crabs and eat all the chicken. Twenty minutes later, voila!
Yeah Ray Ray is correct. If you look closely at this guys go pro footage of the crabs underwater you can actually see a couple of them almost double in size over the time they are in the trap. Just depends on type of bait and water temp. And of course which crabs eat the most bait...
Thank you for wearing your life jacket. Things happen really fast on the water for some reason. I applaud you for these awesome videos.
good catch, actually entertaining to watch, ill be looking for future videos. Subscribed.
Qq Hear me
I like watching the deadly catch!!
Good jod!👍🤗
You make the case very well for lower limits, unless i heard wrong 3 in the boat and you were after 36 crabs ?? 12 crab limit seems high
You just made me VERY hungry! Awesome catch
This might be a dumb question, but do you have to be careful about them pinching your fingers when you pick them up?
PK add some egg sinkers to the swing door. When the crabs crawl in the door shuts and. They can't open it very easy. At the bottom of the doors are fingers or prongs put the weights on those.
What happens to your go-pro cam? I thought you were going to show us the crabs
Good catching a lots crabs 🦀if over limit share to me OK tthank you !
Yep purple ......don’t put together because they pull each other’s legs off so someone told me ,,,,,,great crabs 🦀 lol
Next time use pork chitterlings in the bucket you can freeze them and saw them out when needed guarantee the crabs will go wild over the smell and the taste remember Port style chitterlings
