It's cool that Josh Middleton's play style/ guitar tuning in Sylosis is drastically different from his playing in Architects, shows how versatile he is.
Josh's phrasing with his lead and solo work is my favorite in all of metal. He manages to incorporate plenty of shred, but he does it so cleanly. Plus, he manages to keep a melodic and tasteful feel so the solo feels right, instead of just mindless shredding. It's fucking great.

I've been listening to Sylosis for a couple years now, and they've quickly turned into one of my favorite bands. This definitely has some similar flares to some of their earlier work, but yet still different. If you want to check out some of their older works (which I HIGHLY recommend you do), some of their better songs are Teras, After Lifeless Years, Empyreal, Behind the Sun, Servitude, Mercy, and To Build a Tomb. Kind of a long list, I know, but as someone who's never listened to Sylosis, you've got a bit of catching up to do. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
Yeah pretty much any song, The River, Paradox, A Serpents Tongue, Reflections Through Fire... I mean just anything really. One of the bands I've loved every album from.
