Reno's Garage I agree this channel needs a v8 240.
740 are far superior

@@nicovanduin1553 haha i just like the looks way more
did this once and once only!!!! 1mm cutting disk cut straight through the tendan in my finger on the first spring... so i cut the rest the same way and went to hospital to get my tendan and finger stiched back to gether lol
i was thinking about pulling this shit but im gonna at least rent spring compressors lol
What's up guys it's drifts and lips here
in sweden we just remove the springs
Custom spunk in the fuel gauge
Bött!!
bött e gött
det är inte bött
So do bad steering ujoints make tge 240 740 like it has no power steering ?
hahah, this is exactly the way i always cut springs, sketchy and scary as fuck, but it's fast and i'm lazy.
There's another way to cut springs? haha
Woah, my 740 turbo wagon looks exactly like that 760 wagon. I'm in the US.
Sorry for commenting on a old video, but would the ratio of cutting 3 front coils to 2 coils in the rear work for the 940 turbo sedan? Also would 2 cuts in the front and 1 cut in the rear drop the car similar to Ipd lowering spring for the 940? Thanks for all the great videos btw! If you can comment back or message me (couldn’t find the message button on your about section), that would be awesome! - Dan
This is a good question bro, i’m trying to figure that out myself rn.
I always remove the springs fully on the fronts and cut three springs in the back, I own a 93 na reblock 940
That light in the dash is for a bulb failure. Check if any of your bulbs are out. Can happen also if you have LED bulbs.
Great now I know how to cut my springs on my 740.....
Sick video man haha! Just bought a 740 recently and a friend bought a 940 like a week after these cars are sick! 😝
The Volvo drift community in the US and Canada is like the shit box drift community in the EU and I love it
My dream car 😍
I have the irs suspension and I want to lower my rear. Any help/tips?!?!?
cariboo beer hat
I just got a 740… how would you do 2.5😂 do you gotta get the saw further down the wheel well?
Notification squad ?!
hahah "CUTTING VOLVO 740 (FRONT) SPRINGS + WAGON TANDEMS !" there ya go!
You must buy a Volvo with D24, 6 cyl diesel engine with turbo 👍
N
MTB nah actually
If only I could find one lol
Wow I'm getting a 740 this week and I was gonna ask you to make this video lol
GabeCantolina ! Congrats.
Bötta den
I heard if you want a certain amount of drop you basically chop off half that distance of spring, 1 inch drop " 1/2 inch off the spring, idk if this is true....yet, I shall report back
Id say for these cars its closer to 1 coil 1 inch
102k? My MK4 Golf has 77k
Did you know that Volvo made a 6 cyl 3.0L (gas) rwd Volvo 960
NEx HD they are all automatic tho.
lol we have many of those Manuel in finland :o
there are some manual
Easily swaped to manuell with the M90 from the 2.5 960 tho
Same engine as t6 just without turbos
fuck i got scared at 15:30
haha!
Mine's at 500000kms and same thing, starts right up half a turn
spring compressors are so cheap. Your daft to not buy some. I like how you have opposite tail lights out.
Where can I contact you to send in a youtube banner i've made for you? :^)
Volvo
va?
han sa volvo ;)
fan va rolig du är...
Och du verkar dum i huvudet
this is cheapest way to lower and its easy but still its shittiest too. that 760 is clean afc. i have too with same specs good car!
Theres a way to do it and have the car drift perfectly fine without the oscillating cut spring hop but that isn't the method used in the video.
RedblockFV when i had 740 i took the springs off then cutted easy and save. and when is normal axle no multilink back springs almost drop when lift car up
u probably cut too much, the optimal length is to cut the springs just enough so the car is barley resting on the stops. and make sure u have good bump stops and shocks to hold the wheels to the chassis.
If u cut too much, it feels like u have no springs. too little and when u hit a bump hard, the bump stop will have room to smack the chassis upward and youll usually bounce a few times afterward because of it.
when done right you can hit a bump hard and not bouce afterward, its just the initial impact of any bump will be hard and noticeable
I drive the white wagon at the end of the vid if u wanna see this setup in action, i should also note this method only works for drifting it will ride like shit but handle good sideways.
EDIT: not for cars with IRS solid axle only
RedblockFV i mean orginal spring in back falls almost when lift back up. and maybe there is kinda optimal lowering but now im not doing cutsprings i prefer jspec or bc racing maybe they are expensive but driving is much better no more orginal volvo swinging
the rear ones should be bolted in at the top so they shouldnt fall out, i have cut ipds so mine are alot shoter than normal since they dont compress as much and i dont have that issue, daily driven for 2 years now and never had one pop out.
id love to have real suspension in the wagon, i just cant justify spending that much on it, plus im happy with the setup i have now. my e30 is getting bc coils in the next few months tho, right now i have HR springs with billstein shocks and the volvo honestly handles way better rain or dry with the cut springs.
not to be like that but my 1988 volvo 744 GL has only 23k km rn
not easy, not proffessional, but cool!
how much would a Volvo 240 cost where ever you live
put mk18 rims on your car not as drifting rims ofc
