One of the best things about Yu Yu Hakusho was that Keiko and Yusuke weren't a typical "will they? won't they?" anime couple. They're a "they all ready have, and now they have to deal with what that entails" couple.
That's what makes this a good couple, unlike most other anime series, they like to drag on the couples for so long it makes fans think the shows all about the couple rather than the enjoyment of the show. Not to mention leaving with, who's the better pairing or who's better with who which we've seen in a lot of anime lately.
David Langheier exactly its to point in the first 4 episodes she loves him and he likes her and that's that and they won't matter until the last episode so who cares it doesn't distract nor bore which is funny cause their so entertaining and in love that more episodes would be nice of them but no more love triangles aka naruto sakura sasuke naruto loves sakura she loves sasuke sasgay loves naruto
Lol! XD That's one of the reason's why I did like Naruto so much because all the fans focused on the couple of Sasuke and Sakura, while I was just trying to focus on the show about Naruto and its surroundings. At least in this show it focuses more on important things and keeps the love interest as simple as it can be. It shows that you don't need to make everything all about finding true love when you have others by your side to support you all the way. That's what makes this show great, and something I wish I've seen sooner when it was on air.
well it make sense they have been actual friends since they were 4 they know each other as keiko says he sees her for who she really is and she respects his decisions to go for what he wants they want the best for each other this isn't a stereotypical oh they hate each other and then the longer the series progresses they learn to appreciate each other and fall in love lol like that really happens that fast it takes time to develop a real relationship even when they fight broke up kinda it was an understanding right like splitting up because he wants to stay in demon world cause human world doesn't make him happy he needs to find out who he is she isn't nagging him to stay she says fine I respect it but my boyfriend won't like it when you come back asking me for my hand of marriage lol so true I feel it would have been better less genric obvious because of how great the writing for them was if they didn't end up together cause they could handle it they both are independent rational people
I think I get what your saying. All in all I don't think the series matters much on who's perfect for who rather it has its own goals in what its trying to focus on and that's what I like about this series now.
Michael Mitchell Considering that she voices Lust from FMA and FMA: Brotherhood it isn't really a surprise. Also, she's married to the voice actor who voices Col. Mustang. Which is funny because Mustang brutally kills Lust in FMA: Brotherhood and the two had to do that scene together in the recording booth at the same time.
Homeboy screamed like Luke Skywalker when Darth Vader confessed to being his father. 😂💀 I love how Yusuke and Keiko were always an item, on unspoken terms, and everyone around them either completely knew or could have pretty much guessed the truth. That’s such a rarity for couples in anime. Usually, it’s one sided or back and forth until the end of the series when the characters get their shit together and finally confess. Yusuke was pretty much straight up with Keiko since Episode 1, while Keiko was blatantly truthful about her feelings towards Yusuke whenever Yusuke wasn’t around.
well i mean they are friends since childhood...that helps..also shes not the typical tsundere shes actually pretty chill lovey dovey and nice most of the time when hes not being a pig ..she still girly girly while being strong smart and more modern ..hes just a 14 year old hoodlum that knows she won't put out so hes going to not be too into her...
Nah, it's just the insecure, desperate "nice guys" who give the rest a bad name. Cool nice guys are unperturbed by such trivial rejections, typically at most breathing a sigh of "oh well", then moving on.
That's just for the lame ones. This guy just serves as a foil for Yusuke, who's much cooler. If Kurama had been the one to ask Keiko out, things may well have turned out very differently. Even if rejected, he'd keep his cool.
borgoat12 A female commenter actually had a good insight. That any woman would be unnerved by a stranger just "asking them out." You have to know them first. It's basically the old catch-22 with job-hunting. People want experience, but how do you get that without being hired?
yeah..guess the bad boy does win and overly nice guys do finish last cause yusuke literally feels up keiko like a perv yet she likes him for his forwardness rather than the boy who respects her and talks nicely with her and admits his feelings which is tough for guys and what she wants yusuke to be able to do one day over a boy whp wouldn't ever think about feeling her up..smdh..bad morals..in japan the nice guy would win...asian girls are reserved and .mostly raised in strict bland households. .
You know something? I can’t believe I haven’t noticed this before.... look how round and baby-faced Yusuke and Kayko look in the first season. Then, go way forward to the demon-tournament saga. Yusuke especially looks more angular and pronounced in appearance, due to subtle aging throughout the show. You never notice it, but it’s there. How did I miss this?
I know it’s intentional because he does the same thing with Gon in HxH it’s not much but he definitely looks 2 years older or more by the end of the latest season vs first season
The beauty is that it’s actually obscurely one up from a typical line. Seems like it at first but the paths of choice of secondary subject (book) then going in a different direction (and it wasn’t/lame) is the key here. Also keep in mind this was translated from Japanese. The way people talk even translates would be different.
I never felt that it was undeveloped, at least for the audience it was designed for. In fact, the series makes their relationship more and more romantic. She was the one he fought so hard for in Maze castle, even Suzaku knew his bond was more than just friendly. So did Hiei. Other characters such as Botan and Kuwabara make jokes about it. He told Toguro how he looked forward to growing old with Keiko. Near the end he proposes to her, in a more serious way. And he eventually returns for some...
@sdjslkdjlsskldjslkdjsl8262 This. Shonen as a whole aren't big in romance, but there MC usually end up in a romantic relationship by the end of the series l.
Sorry bro, well look at the bright side, at least you took your rejection like a champ. I mean Obito got friend zoned and he tried to destroy the entire Shinobi world.
nah...thats not obitos plan..he wanted unite ninja and the only way he could do that in his mind be came to after all the tragedy he saw was to make everyone dream for true peace cause he gave up on reality changing and he couldn't have faith in himself without rin by his side watching over him healing his wounds both external and internal for fixing the destiny and wrong way of ninjas being used as tools and of course used by madara to see rin again at his lowest moment getting pffered a way to see her and fix all that goes wrong in reality as madara said before rins death...he accepted that rin liked kakashi..doesn't mean he can't still be in love with her....he even puts away immediately when he saw rin the flowers he was going to give to her when she gave him the secret meeting note which was for their group of friends to meet up so she could tell them to get a gift for new chunnin kakashi...
@@razkable you are making obito sound noble here, the fact is he wasn't. He had no intention of uniting the world or anything, peace was just a tag along of his wish to live in a dream because due to run's death at the hands of kakashi due to the situation, he tried to reject reality itself. That's what he wanted, he wanted to reject reality and live in a world of dreams where, he wouldn't have to suffer and he could enjoy the moments of his life he missed the most. They built up the perfect romance between Yusuke and Keiko in the first several episodes, I was disappointed that it was never really developed throughout the series, at least for me.
I can’t believe that Keiko was voiced by Laura Freaking Bailey!! She’s everywhere! What a talent!! She should start her own school for voice actors if she hasn’t already!
That's me at 0:55 when I asked this girl to senior prom and she already had a date. I was heart broken so bad I didn't even bother to go to prom........😒
Wish Kieko was developed more as a character and especially as someone close to Yusuke. Other than little moments like these, you sort of had to take the word that Yusuke and Keiko were best friends and attracted to each other. Other than reciting the past, these two hardly spent any time together in the show, it felt like a crime you couldn't understand the reason for it to happen. Not enough for these two, not enough at all and I regret that still to this day
you realize the entire show takes place over the course of 1 1/2 years right?????? Tell me where Yusuke and Keiko would have the time to fit PDA between all the training and fighting he'd done within a year. Their backstory was set up fine knowing each other since they were kids, always supporting each other. Keiko never questioned Yusuke's involvement as Spirit Detective and Yusuke never asked her to stay out of danger or that crap of "We can't stay together because I gotta protect my loved ones" because that's not his style. For them, they've already committed to each other, and everything they've went through together from Suzaku to Yomi is like the usual trials and tribulations couples face in their relationship to prove their love is the real deal. Their relationship is perfect as is....
No the main bulk of show is 1 year. Yusuke spends 1 year training before the Demon World tournament and 2 years after the tournament in Demon World before going home. He's 14 at the beginning, 15 after defeating Sensui and 18 at the very end.
I always thought that this was the guy who burned town yusukes house and became sniper later on for still wanting revenge on yusuke because of keiko unwanting him.
The genre of the manga and anime had to have it fighting and fighting or else it most likely would have never been in Shōnen Jump. Also the creator actually hates Keiko so no wonder she wasn't in it that much.

I really doubt he would do anything in his manga or anime that his now wife would have not liked. He even had Koenma dress up like Tuxedo Mask, flirting technique that appears to have worked.
Oh wow! Guess that explains the crossover between Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon I've seen before O_o, not the actually crossover but fanart. Who would ever guess. No problem :D After reading your message It kind of got me curios to look into the soundtrack and ever since I started listening to that song I've been so addicted to it XD
I mostly enjoyed the opening and ending of the series even thou I was never big on it back then. What I did was looked up the Yu Yu Hakusho soundtrack and had to listen to some of the song till I finally found it and looked it up for myself. There are other tones or beats to it where they have some remixs. There very good especially when I'm at the gym XD.
