It looks delicious. But bouillon cubes, maggie powder are the same just different term. So it seems like there’s A LOT of sodium. Maggie and baking soda is HIGH sodium. You all don’t cook with garlic and other seasonings besides maggie ??
There are different flavors and sodium levels in maggi/crown cube and bouillon powder. As you can see in the video , I used shrimp flavor crown cubes which has a lower sodium level than the darker color maggi cube and chicken bouillon. I personally use these seasonings to help keep the authentic flavors and simplicity of Liberian cuisine . However, you are welcome to season this meal or any other Liberian meal to your taste. Thanks for the compliment of the food looking delicious.
Jestine: Oh I see. I was just wondering if it wasn’t salty with all the different Maggies 😊. I was drawn to your dish because we make it as well in my culture (Haitian) and yours looked pretty much like ours. But your seasoning of choice was a little different. Don’t get me wrong we LOVE Maggie too. However, we make homemade green seasoning in addition to the maggie and it’s absolutely delicious. And yours looks mouth watering as well. I LOVE Liberian Palava sauce too😋. We called it LaLo (pronounced LAH- Low).
