It's a far cry from you guys digging out the foundation all those weeks ago! I'm actually amazed at the speed at which you are accomplishing this project. And I'm really thankful you are taking us along for the ride. And Bo is such a good boy!! 🐶Cheers!!
Another great video, the garage/basement turned out great!!! I watch a concrete contractor and he puts a product called Shark grip in the sealer....you could clean your barn floor and have a coat of the sealer with the shark grip put in and it’ll make it non-slip. He lives in Wisconsin where it really snows and that’s what he puts on sidewalks and places that could get wet and have people walking on them.
Looks great man! I like the chain suspended power trowel - great idea, they definitely have done this once or twice before!! Its worth it to spend the money on stuff like this concrete pumping\pour\finishing that you need help with and not spend the dough when you can manage it yourself with Andrew, etc. One thing I hate about concrete is the hury, hurry when its ready to go, once its past that sweet point, you're screwed & you'll be on hands & knees 'scrubbing' it with hand trowels - been there, done that - it really sucks! I'm glad you t-ed & pressurized PEX lines, now you know they're all good! Keep it up man, can't wait to see the rest of the progress!!👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩 ✊🏻🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲✊🏻
Been waiting to see this! (although not as much as YOU have been lol). Man, it is coming along. Great work and effort coming to fruition. A seriously important step here, must be a relief for you :) Thanks for sharing, great content as always.
Great job Man! Glad your making progress. Cost, well it is what it is. Ten years ago I built a 3K two story house. The total frame package was 12.5K less the trusses. Last week I bought the tj's sub floor and mud sill for a 1600 ft addition on my ranch. It was 6.25K So looking at what you've got your doing well! Keep the posts coming!
An easy fix for the slippery barn floor is to put down that rubber interlocking garage floor tiles, they're oil resistant, waterproof, and will give much better traction.
Your comments on rough vs smooth finishes are spot on!! I experienced the same but unfortunately ended up with the smooth finish in the garage. Definitely not where you want to have it, especially in winter time with ice and snow it becomes really slippery. But for a basement or workshop floor it would be a really nice finish.
Looking good mate. I bn building over here in New Zealand all my life and although a hard trade it’s always rewarding to see progress each day. Looks like u got a beautiful bit of land there, the autumn colours of the trees look fantastic. Me on the other hand am looking forward to some warm weather. All the best
At 8' wondered "where did all that dust come from?" then: oh, cutting the grooves. Not sure it was a good idea to remove the tape before getting the dust out or rinsing the residual into your drainage system. Seems like that stuff would settle out in the drain pipe. Good opportunity to epoxy coat the garage portion before vehicle oil gets on it, though the sealer may abrogate that.
Awesome videos, have you been living in the original building during the build or offsite. Just curious for when you had the house lifted, cheers from 🇨🇦
I kept my radiant heat concrete floor under about 1/8 to 1/4” of water for a week after it was poured. 7 years later and there’s not a single hint of a crack. It doesn’t have any saw cuts. It is around 17’x18’, so quite a bit smaller than yours.
You are going to have a fabulous house. You explain everyyhing great. I had a question as to why all the dust but then you explained the cutting of concrete. I saw this question elsewhere; when are you going to put that sewer line in its final place?
There is a compound you can roll on top the flooring that is smooth but has a gripey grit in it you just pour some out and use a fluffy paint roller to spread it out It's kind of like texture paint but goes on smooth but has like a rubber grit to make it smooth non-slip a 5 gallon bucket will cover all that floor it goes a long way I just cant think the name but if i remember i'll pop back in let you know or post a link to it !
If ya put an epoxy finish on the floor in your barn, add some silica sand in to the mix. It will emulate tennis court paint. Or just use tennis court paint, it last for dozens of years, a really really long time, and it is non slip shit.
Looks good. One question. What would of happen if you would have lost pressure while they were pouring the concrete?Would the heat in the floor worked or not work?Thats what I have been wondering about.Concrete is heavy & it could crush your heating lines. Is this a question for when you turn this floor heating system on?I've very had a system like this in my home. Was just wondering how it would be.Well good luck your well on your way now.
$9,300 for that slab is a fantastic price. Here in Az that would have been double that if not more. I was quoted $3,000 for a 5x20, 10x25 and a 2x2 slab to extend my driveway, just a little over 350 square foot of concrete....uh thank you but no.
$4,300 concrete. Pump and labor 5k. About $2.60 per square ft for labor and pump. Not sure what State U R in, but that's about right. $4.80 per sq ft. That's not cheap either but you get what you pay for and the floor looks nice. ❤

Thanks I appreciate that
The finished floor looks great.
Floor looks great. This project is coming along nicely and I’m enjoying these videos.
Thanks glad to hear it
Those concrete guys are really good.
Wow what a difference after pouring concrete. Awesome take care and be safe.
THAT is a SMOKIN' price! I just paid $3500 for 300 sq ft, 4" thick! It had a 16" footer on three sides, but gracious. Good job!
Looks Awesome Dude...!!! Love some fresh concrete. They did a Great Job. The floor looks Flawless !!
Your pups are beautiful doggies!
make sure you irrigate the drain after flushing that dust down there. it will solidify
This is awesome man. Really cool seeing different perspective of a house being built basically from the ground up.
Great job! This is one of the best DIY projects I have ever seen. It is really coming together. Well done!
Thanks!
I once slept on a heated concrete floor, it was very comfortable, felt good for my back
Great video! The project really seems to be moving now. Congratulations on the work to date.
Have the kids got roller skates. Great job 👍

Another big hurtle behind you.
Good job.

Thanks. Yes it is another big step I am glad to get done
Great work again sweet 👍🏼
Your guys did a great job. I did my share of concrete work back in the day, and it is hard work and worth every penny charged.
beautiful site, I been following a long and this is just awesome to see the finishing touches. wow
Thanks
Cudos to all. Nice pour and great finish.
Dog back on the job. Yes, they do what you call a BROOM FINISH
You are making great progress on you home. Keep your videos coming.

Thanks. Yea it’s amazing how much the price of things change
Sensational workmanship by all involved 👌👍😎
all the work is in the preparation.
This has been an awesome adventure to watch!
I agree. There is a piece of ground behind my sister's place and this series so far is making me think about what it could be turned to....
love new concrete that is done well. Never saw them use a lengthy smoothing skimmer like that (whatever it's called). Lots of concrete for sure.
It’s called a bull float

Very interesting Project. Thanks for the Journey of your Homebuild. Looks pretty good. Best Greetings from Europe!

Nice work bro
You got lucky that the sewer pipe could stay ? Spectacular floor boss !
Yea they said they didn’t mind. Thanks
Great video looking really good can't wait to see the finished work

So good
Good job it looks good😂❤❤❤❤
Congratulations and glad to see it done. Excited to watch next steps.
We had a slick floor issue in our shop as well. It was an easy fix with an acid etch. We did about 1000 sqft for a few hundred $.
Good to know
I think this is your first video where others actually did the work....and you got to just watch & film.
Yea it was
Looken Good
Looks great !!
looks amazing ! cant wait for you to have future cook outs lol!
Looking good 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Awesome videos, have you been living in the original building during the build or offsite. Just curious for when you had the house lifted, cheers from 🇨🇦
Thanks. Have been living it it

I was trying to figure out what you guys were brooming off the concrete until you mentioned the control cuts. Duh...dust from grinding the grooves. 😂😂
Coming along nicely
Bo is heckin concerned lol.😂🐕
Congrats!
OH it was explained in this video the walls interesting!
You are going to have a fabulous house. You explain everyyhing great. I had a question as to why all the dust but then you explained the cutting of concrete. I saw this question elsewhere; when are you going to put that sewer line in its final place?
Thanks. When I do the plumbing in the addition
its coming together.
I can't imagine what this job would cost if you had to farm it out!!

Made it....
Keim concrete is one of the best, you must be in Ohio or West Virginia or Pennsylvania.
Ohio
What are your plans for the sewer pipe?
Ok I finally have to ask what is the plan with waste line running thru garage lol
It will be moved when I do the plumbing for the addition
When it’s all done with new addition is old wood house about 24% of total house? Easier to demo whole thing, I think.and start anew.
Dogs and cats like nothing more than freshly poured concrete, they walk all over it 😂
If your putting garage doors should of had a 11/2” at the bottom of the door to keep water from running in when it rains.
might have missed you saying, will you be sealing the floor to prevent oil stains etc?
I would of had to fix the leak if one had happened before the concrete set up
@@Wolfpupfab How would you have known there was a leak.Does that pressure gauge read all the lines seperately. Does read no pressure?
I'd like you to use Lally columns instead of screw jacks

lol 3 thousand is a great price you cheap asss
Looks like your pressure went down. It was higher at the beginning of the video compared to the end of the video. IMO
👍👍👍
You have to be happy you had them do it instead of trying to do all that yourself.
Yes I am
$4,300 concrete. Pump and labor 5k. About $2.60 per square ft for labor and pump. Not sure what State U R in, but that's about right. $4.80 per sq ft. That's not cheap either but you get what you pay for and the floor looks nice. ❤
I got a few quotes, there were all around there. Seems fair
The white tube that passes in the middle, when do you remove it?
Did those guys pull a single peice of wire mesh up into the concrete?
Yes sir
your concrete guys didnt do the garage doors pad right. no flood lip/
I didn’t want a lip. I told them to do it that way
