The Deftones and Loathe bit was a good winded explanation on your thoughts, the great thing is that it didn’t take them much to realize that they were borderline writing a deftones record because the tracks you guys have mostly listened to have all been off the same album, they’re self aware and that’s great, they know the directions they need to take to set themselves apart. Listening to more tracks off this record will be like piecing a puzzle of how they want to do things.
I loveee deftones. but in my honest opinion, ILIIAITE is better than 90% of anything deftones has done. it's definitely just personal preference and a lot of it comes down to how I don't like that deftones loves copy pasting entire sections over and over. idk. this album is both emotionally and sonically enthralling
@@ixLunacy Trying to mimic his singing doesn’t mean that he SOUNDS like him so there’s no need to compare. Loathe doesn’t make me feel what i feel when i listen to Deftones or any other project Chino has going on.
loathe is a shoegaze metal band so it makes sense that they use fuzz pedals and big chords. that muddy sound is integral to the shoegaze genre. you should react to softcult-house of mirrors and see if yall like shoegaze
That bit at the end of the song was a transition to the song “Is It Really You?“-probably their most Deftones-esque track (and top 3 of theirs imo). Fr though, they’re better than Deftones
I Let It In is my favorite album of all time, but by no means do i think they’re better than Deftones atleast yet. Deftones have LISTS of over 20 years of bangers, while Loathe do really have that much in their discog and are still kind of in their infancy in a way. In time, i will love to see where they are at, but for now Deftones remains superior BUT Loathe did make my favorite album and at a very young age so it shows their brilliance so far. Curious what their next project will sound like without Connor, but the slower tunes like Is It Really You? and Screaming were written by their drummer so i think they’ll be golden👌🏽
Loathe and Sleep Token are two British bands taking the modern metal scene by storm - they’re reallyyyyyy great
keep getring Sleep Token recommended, will see what we can do
What they have in common is their producer, George Lever. Absolutely brilliant dude
@@vexedpixels I don’t think George produced the new sleep token album if I’m right
Carl Brown produced the TMBTE, George worked on Sundowning and Jaws cmiiw
Great album all the songs flow into each other. That’s what the ending was. It’s connects to the next track “is it really you”
good to know
Charlie’s track is going to be the title track. “I let it in and it took everything”
ok bro, lets see, thats the next loathe track we'll hit
@@marylandstationmusic9422 that track is unreal, so different and insteresting
YESSSSS FINALLY! This album was the best album of 2020.
"I let it in and it took everything" is the big hitter for me on that album

Shiet Deftones still on the thrown but Loathe is next in line to reign for sure. I Love LOATHE. " is it really you " is a tune y'all should react to.

L to this comment. Loathe doesn’t sound like Deftones. Completely different styles.
@hshiram loathe in general does not sound like deftones but there are points where Erik's voice sounds identical to Chinos

@hshiram it took me a while to hear it too but if you think of chino when erik sings certain parts it sounds nearly identical lmao
I think they would love Sleep Token.
Try loathe - east of Eden to win your boy over

I’m pretty sure Erik is just cranking the gain on the amp, and using the middle pickup, that’s what it sounds like to me at least
