The Originals gave us BEAUTIFUL BALLADS, GREAT HARMONIES, They were just fantastic.!!!! My favorite songs are, Baby I’m for Real, The Bells, God Bless whoever Sent You, You’re the One +many many more.!!!🎼🎼🎤🎤
I met Hank in 1976 when I was 7. He was a true gentleman. My aunt worked for Motown in Los Angeles and introduced me. I wish I knew the greatness that was in front of me.
He is most humble star in the world, having recorded with iconic superstars. The CP to Hank 1-2 vocal punch lead changes are as powerful as Kendrick’s to Ruffin.
I, love The Originals and still listen to my favorite songs by them, Baby I'm for Real and The Bells. And their beautiful voices can be heard as background singers for many artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and a few Girl Groups. Truly talented singers ❤❤❤❤❤
I don't know for some reason every year New Year's Eve after 12:00 I got to play... Baby I'm for real first heard it when it first came out when I was like 9 10 years old and I'm 64 years old now and I still got to play it... So many good memories with my family
I knew that they were Marvin Gaye's main background vocalist. Did not know that they sung on Stevie's songs... I always learn something on your channel!!! Best RUclips Channel!
They , like Andantes, performed 1000’s of backgrounds for everyone on Motown roster. Their poignantly complex harmonies evident on Stevie’s “For Once in My Life”.
THIS IS GREAT EPISODE OF FACTS...ACCORDING TO MARY WILSON'S BOOK,"THE MAKINGS OF A DREAM GIRL" the Andantes sang on 90% of ALL the artists at Motown...Also The Originals sang on some of the biggest hits at Motown as well...
The Originals are my favorite Motown vocal group during the 1969-70 period when Marvin Gaye wrote and produced two of their biggest pop and R&B hits Baby I’m For Real that spent five weeks at number one R&B and number fourteen pop for two weeks in the fall of 1969 and The Bells which spent two weeks at number four R&B and number twelve pop for two weeks in the spring of 1970. Great harmonies reminiscent of the doo wop era of the 1950’s and early 1960’s. The group started out at Motown as background singers for Marvin Gaye,Stevie Wonder,Jimmy Ruffin,David Ruffin,Edwin Starr and Shorty Long plus I enjoyed the greatest lineup of the group which consisted of group leader Freddie Gorman(bass/baritone),Walter Gaines(baritone/falsetto),Hank Dixon(second tenor) and C.P. Spencer(first tenor/falsetto).
On the album "Game called love",there was a single called "Supernatural Voodoo Woman" that played in the movie "Sugar Hill" is probably my favorite song by them.
Louvain Demps once telling me what a thrill it was to sing side x side with The Originals on Stevie Wonder recordings remains a most poignant moment for me.
I have a simple request. Could you please slow down during your presentation. You speak too fast and you scroll through the videos too fast. I find myself having to constantly replay the scenes to understand whatever point that you are trying to make.

It's hard to understand why they didn't get better promotion at Motown. Their harmonies were unique for R&B, and they could really deliver a song.
Baby, I'm For Real, And I'll Never Hear The Bells!!!!!!!!!
