  • We took most of the gardening videos we have from the last 4 years of transforming this garden, and created one timelapse. Thank you to all who watched the Back Yard Time Lapse!
    This garden has been a work in progress over several years, when we could find time in between our garden design installations for some pretty spectacular properties, which we are going to be releasing full timelapse videos for those as well, so be sure to subscribe to see those videos soon!
    We noticed a common comment from the backyard timelapse about how often we change out plants and flowers. Most of the plants used throughout the video are annuals, which mean that they live for only one season. We just don't typically have cold enough weather, or drastic seasonal weather changes to force the plants into dormancy.
    **FTC Disclaimer**
    This video is not sponsored, however some plants and supplies in our garden have been provided to us as a trial garden, to see how they perform in our growing zone conditions.

    I love gardening and enjoyed many of the planting selections and displays. It made me sad though to see so many beautiful and healthy plants being removed to plant anew.

    Magnificent! It boggles my mind that your privacy screen grew into the Forrest Primeval so quickly. Everything you do in your garden is so elegantly appropriate, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of a sprinkler system, which has got to save you hours and hours every week. I'm so happy to see this post! Hope you and your beloved furred and feathered (I'm so tickled you have a volunteer chicken!) are all well and prospering.

      Hi David! It's so nice to hear from you after so long! We appreciate your kind and thoughtful comment, as always! We've been in production mode all last year, filming some spectacular projects that we're excited to release very soon! Not sure if you saw it or not, but we also posted a 4 year timelapse of the backyard, so be sure to check that one out!

    If you put a few soda bottles or cans in the bottom of large containers it allows better drainage, saves on soil, saves on weight, and still allows plenty of soil for the plants. Everything looks fabulous!! Great job :)

    • @MrGardeners
      @MrGardeners  4 месяца назад

      Thank you so much! The evergreen trees we used for the privacy hedge are "Brodie Junipers" We love them and also used them in our backyard timelapse that we posted about a month ago! The ones in the front garden were planted in the ground about a year before the ones in the back though.

  • @elainemcgran8828

    Why replace the plants so many times, do they not come back every year. I had a neighbour who had those treese, and they blocked out so much light on the surrounding gardens that they are huge. Eventually they cut them down and nobody could believe the amount of light we gained. Your garden is gorgeous

    • @MrGardeners
      @MrGardeners  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for the question. The plants we are replacing are all annuals, so they only live for one season. Up north, the cold weather kills them, but here in Tampa they continue to grow past their life cycle, and begin to look tired. We enjoy them for the extra time we can while they still look good and then replace them. The last year of the video, we started to add more permanent structures in the garden so there is less plants to replace.

    Somehow, in 2024, this gardening style feels outdated…

  • @heidi3149
    @heidi3149 2 месяца назад

    You dig up your entire garden every single year?? It’s all annuals? It’s not even a garden anymore, it’s just a glorified cut flower arrangement 😵
