Loved when the GR Yaris passed by its like the old toyota spirit reignited . Amazing car and amazing driver = excellent video keep these coming Misha :)
@@janvandeven906 Glanza is het sport model van een P9 Starlet, werd alleen geleverd in Engeland, Australië en Japan en komen daardoor weinig voor in Nederland
This car comes from a time when to sell cars, you needed to engineer good cars. Plus, it was made in the middle of the mini Hot-Hatch boom... 106 Rallye, Uno Turbo/Punto GT, Renault 5 GT Turbo, this one... Man, you could have so much fun for so little money...
starlets are fantastic, highly recommended. Not a lot of poke but bomb proof and will stick pretty much anything flat footing second. Go kart handling. My white one had 150k miles and the red in my pic now has 140k, 0 issues in my owner ship and I rag it everywhere
I had to watch this twice before a comment. Full send on a 26 year old car was mind boggling. On second watch I caught that it was on coilovers. Bad ass little car.
Man, if Toyota wouldve sold these (and alot of other cars) over here, they wouldve given the golf gti a run for its money! Also, I would love to see you in a cappuchino someday!
I wish I still had my trackday Glanza that I had back in the day (2006-2012). Would really try to travel up there, just for you to take it for a lap! It was a blast for just 200hp, and I still miss it, great cars indeed!!!
That Swift convertible looks... well used... :P It's fun seeing slow cars driven fast, a slow car with decent brakes, decent suspension, and good tires seems like it'd be entertaining to drive, and to watch you drive really, something that doesn't run out of battery power, brakes, gearbox, tires, or cooling halfway through a lap. :P Did we ever have something similar to the Glanza in Europe? Is it a Starlet? or Corolla? I like it though, even if it's from an era where Toyota in Europe was basically the brand of retirement homes, like Buick was for grandmothers in the US. At least here in Norway we didn't get any of the interesting or sportier models, like the Carina E and Avensis, boring old people cars, that in JP had versions that basically were like wagon versions of the Celica GT-Four, AWD and turbo wagons... Though they were known as Caldina in JP, at least the sporty ones.... the base models could have a more.... unfortunate name, Toyota Corona. :P
Hi Misha, could you tell us something about 06.05.2023? Second time that I visited the ring. Booked a Asian taxi brand, but there where some troubles. I’ve seen the trucks. The rest of the day had a lot of track closing, is this normal for the ring?
Bought a glanza in 2004 and loved it ! Did the same in 2024 and love it more, everybody wants go on the road, only complaint tho😂 cos il lose my licence
i always miss the "tech talk" after a lap ;) look at what's in there ;) this is a "starlet on steroids" we never got the turbo model here.. STIL i remember a class mate had a hot one. just over 130hp and just "stupid" on winter road's.
Used to see one of these most days in my area of the UK around 2010 but not sure what happened to it. Lovely little pocket rocket car but too worried about crash safety to maybe ever own one
You missed the opportunity to say we have a glance at the Glanza😂
Enjoyed the video! Running my stock powered Starlet GTT (Glanza's older brother) for 8 years now on the nurburgring, such a fun little car.
The best thing about old Toyotas is how long they last . My Grandma had a 1987 Toyota Tercel that went over a million miles .
Yessss - we are driving a 1997er Starlet in light purple metallic - awesome! And for the next 20 years. 😊
This video deserves WAY more views than it has! Flawless performance for such an old car.
Loved when the GR Yaris passed by its like the old toyota spirit reignited . Amazing car and amazing driver = excellent video keep these coming Misha :)
Precisely why I'm fortunate enough to own both GRY and Starlet Turbo 😊
What a fun video! Incredible how good the Glanza was. Pity they never sold them in Germany.
lots of small cars to buy in europe no need for another one
@@Chris-hw4mq Lots of small brains here...no need for ...🤷
This one was grey imported into the UK, no other reason why the speedo would be in mph.
Netherlands here and indeed never heard of a glanza

This has to be one of the very very few stock Glanzas in the entire world.
Big fan of these things. It has aged so beautifully imo. Performed so good for what it is. I can see myself in one of these.

Starlets have been awesome since the KP61. Nice drive!

Would like to see Misha in/with a 4A-GE black- or silvertop! Not as fast as hondas but the sound...20 valves...ITBs/ Einzeldrossel 😉🤘
Always loved the Starlet GT since the EP82. Thanks for the lap
Awesome!! I owned a starlet turbo with full blitz boltons back in the day (+20 years ago) such a fun car.
toyota used a vacuum system driven powersteering. its really nice. at low speed it is very light, and at high speed its heavy, but not to heavy.
Mind seems to be backwards 😅 too shaky above 110 km/h

Looks like a fantastic car, in my opinion.
Probably you prefer a better pedals for heel toe or at least could be better configuration
We had a modified glanza in the city which was making evos sweating between set of traffic lights. Crazy little cars
LOVE this car, I own a 2003 Toyota Yaris TS MK1, just the "new starlet/glanza" and it's wonderful
TOYOTA IS TOYOTA I LOVE IT
Another amazing video ! New video , new lesson ! Thanks my champ
Tremendously exciting
so much love from these old japanese small cars
Every UK and Irelands favourite, insured as a 1.3 starlet but a 1.3 turbo under the hood
ive driven one, it was auto but i was quite impressed with the power for what it is!
Starlet GT owner here, the previous iteration of the Glanza. I love this video!

Any day in a little Toyota is a good day.
it seems most of manual cars featured on the channel lately are right hand drive cars
TOYOTA❤️
what happen with 993 cs? it was such a special car
Gotta love the Toyota Starlet 🥳💪🏽
Lots of BC Racing suspension on the channel, is their stuff any good?
Ireland had hundreds of these little rockets back in the 90s and early 2000s unfortunately we managed to either crash or blow up most of them!!!
Be nice to you see you give the Opel OPC a run
I do love my Starlet good fun But gonna swap It for a Nissan pulsar gtir
Nice little car, enough power to have fun but not enough to kill you. 👍
You are a nice chap Misha, cool that you enjoyed an old not so extreme car 👍
Hi misha alot off starlets didnt come with power Steering

This is one lovely engine. Please try to find a
Daihatsu YRV turbo which has te succesor of the glanza turbo engine in it :)

I owned one till 2006, loved every instant with her, was not stock though 😅
Would be interesting to see a Toyota Turbo Starlet GT on the Ring
Basicly the same thing
The fact that this car is literally named "dick head" is never going to stop being hilarious
looks like a fun car
Will we see a Trabant..? 👀👀
Glands lover from 🇱🇰
Good old starlet, sadly they made it front wheel drive :D
Yeah Can get a 4x4 starlet
