I was in darkness for 42 1/2 years. I tell people I was born depressed. I attempted suicide multiple times starting at the age of 10. They all failed. I did not know Jesus. But I am a living testimony that the moment I met Jesus, He took away that depression. He brought me out of that darkness. He killed those demons that had me in chains. I have been living in the light of life since April 2020. ☮️💜🕊

I'm young, and I was a kid at the time, but something very similar happened to me when I was in 7th and 8th grade. Friends and family we had known for years turned on us. Me and my family of six lived in a fifth wheel camper for two years. It was hard, but we still had a few friends and family to pray for us in this time. With the peace that passeth all understanding, we got through it. I know it was much harder on my parents, but still. Now I want to write a prayer down, and I want to tell you that I'm going to pray for you. Dear Lord, pray for this person, and Thier son. I pray that you can keep them safe and warm, and give them a friend to help them. Lord, lead them to a good gospel preaching church, if they aren't already in one. Lord thank you for your mercies and graces, and in Jesus name, amen.

@@MrsBullfinchalso anyone living there where she lives , can help her find shelter. Praying with not helping is pointless ! I know those who knew my situation would say “ am praying for you “ what’s prayers good to do ? God sent me to them to help me and my child. Praying to God God doesn’t help physically. He sends people. He sends messages to them. But they shut the door on me. Yet these same people helped and confirm to help those with status ( esp financial ). Go figure the so called pious ones who selected status to help those who were and are NOT in need

I am 47 years old and finally got put on my first anti-depression medication and I already notice a difference. It just stinks that I spent so many years in depression instead of seeking help because of all of the other Christians who want to act like true Christians don’t struggle with depression.

Yeah. Thing is when they're not in it, people don't understand. It's really hard for me to open up to people and easier to isolate which makes it more dangerous. There were times I wanted to give up but aside from knowing that Jesus has a purpose and plan for my life, the fact is life will come to an end one day anyway. We all have something to give while we're here. People may or may not appreciate it, but God sees. He got me through a lot and it's for a purpose. We'll use what we have gone through to help those who may not be as strong as us. 🙏

It caught up to me, my ego and pride made me keep everything inside. Made me bitter/angry, always felt I had a black cloud over me. My mind was in complete negative evil. I pushed everyone away, cost me a lot. I finally hit rock bottom, I couldn’t get out of bed or leave my house. My relationship was hanging on by a thread, I blame myself for that. I wasn’t a good person. I did something I never did one night, I felt down and cried. Like I’ve never done. I prayed for everything, I vowed to never hurt anyone again. I had a lot of shame and guilt. He heard me, I was scared to death. Remember religion wasn’t in my life. I just woke up, I started to pay attention to things happening around me and in my life. Not coincidences anymore. Had things just started happening to me, friend sent me a Bible. Long story short I’ve been broken down mentally and I’m being rebuilt. Pray daily, in fact constantly “talk to myself” thought I was losing it. Best conversation ever. I was talking to god. Journal a lot, started the gym and I was anti gym. Church every Sunday, and I’m studying the Bible! I’m so intrigued by learning now, I wear my emotions on my sleeve now. Cry a lot, guess maybe it’s still shame I have. I continue to ask for forgiveness and honesty I don’t think I deserve it. I’m gaining more and more strength everyday, we can’t give up. I had no foundation in my life. I have that now and I’m practicing my gratitude everyday. Thankful. I feel for you all, I feel for humanity period. I know so many hurt inside, and mask it on outside. I was there. People need people. We have to communicate and I can’t stop now. My history is long, and I’m sure many on here is as well. It’s been a blessing for me to find life church Albany. I’ve been faithful every Sunday since Easter of 2022. It’s saved my life. ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼

When depressed, nothing. No matter how hard I try, nothing brings hope because nothing feels real or true except that fact I am worthless, sad, pathetic, hurt, failing my family, and shameful that I am like this. I know God is bigger & has better for me & even when I no longer want to live a song comes on the radio speaking exactly what I imagine He might be saying to keep my going. Yet my mind says I am alone. Abandoned. So full of a roller coaster of emotions that I wish my mind could just be still & quiet, even an hour. All I can say is Help. Please God help me. I am begging you God to carry me through this because I cannot do it on my own. I give it up to him. All prayers appreciated

After 8 years I'm still trying to find Gods place and purpose for me. I have ADHD and depression, little money, few friends and no partner. All I want to do is sleep and pray. Father I speak life into your son, new strength your strength. To get back up, that you would turn this entire situation out for his good and your glory (Romans 8:28). Have you tried reading the Bible daily? That is where our joy comes from when we fill it with His word. Wow, it's the first time I followed a message that has had actual sympathy for depression sufferers. Ok so everybody always preaches about depression and sometimes I would stop listening to those teachings because throwing Bible verses at depressed people are simply not the right solution. What about the people that are living with depressed people? My wife is suffering from depression and in February she had a total mental meltdown. Due to her depression, she lost her job, lost friends and our marriage were damaged to such an extent that we almost ended in divorce. To live with a depressed person is not easy and I am the only breadwinner in the household. When my wife had her meltdown we saw people's true colors and realized that even well-educated people do not have any clue how to handle depressed people. Non-depressed people should be educated on how to handle depressed people. Thank you for this message and thanks to your message today I am considering starting a workshop to educate non-depressed people on how to live and handle depressed people.

That's right. For many people they will ridicule/dismiss what they don't understand. Then for others because they can't magically fix you, they'll desert you. Ostracising you when you need love, not judgement.
I've had it happen to me and it's really harmed my ability to trust again.
I'm so glad messages like this are out there because they remind me that not every church misses the mark on stuff like this.

It's my first month here in the US, my wife came here 4 months earlier. The day before my flight coming here, my wife called and confessed to me that she had an affair.
I was so crushed I didn't know what to feel. I couldn't share it to my church friends because they might judge my wife. Now I feel like I'm a walking dead, no hope, no strength, so insecure, no future to hold on to, no hope for marriage, can't trust God anymore, especially can't trust my wife.
I have been following this series and made me cry all the time. Gives me hope to continue my walk in faith with the the Lord. It encourages me to continue with my marriage, that it's okay not to have a perfect marriage, to accept her imperfections and her failure.
Thank God for using Ptr Craig and the church to encourage depressed and hopeless people like me.

I have experienced depression and anxiety. It is a vacuum that slowly consumes you. At times, it was difficult to even listen to the Word. Depression closed off my ability to listen and reason. However, I was able to crawl out from it and it did take a lot of self prayer. Labeling my fears definitely allowed me to realize that they were not as ominous as my emotions were making them. Again, it was a slow process that involved making many healthy choices and having faith. I could not have done it alone. Those around me acknowledged my situation and gave me support instead of empty words such as, "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps." Any one who has suffered with depression knows that just can't happen. Thank you, because I have to work every day to keep me from ever falling back. I am weak without God, but there is hope in God.

I really needed to hear this, it hit home so hard. Depression, hopelessness and fear has stunned me for years after I got out of the Marine Corps. Once I rededicated my life to God, and stepped on the path that I knew I was called to, things got better. But as soon as I graduated college I thought this is it, I’ve got my training I can minister now. But I got so wrapped up in doing I began to feel depression come back and swallow me, I feel like I cry out sometimes and it hits the roof. Which I know isn’t true, but I know He is there, I’m the one who became stagnant and complacent. I just want to walk in His joy and His peace again. Thank you so much for this pastor.

Everyone's journey's is diffrent and everyone's healing process is different. Thank you for this message. It touched me and helped replace some thoughts with truth "emotions aren't permanent" and "with God there's always hope"! I battle with social anxiety dissorder (almost 20 yrs now) and it grew to generalized dissorder, which also drains my energy and depression kicks in when I have no more strenght. God speaks to me on a regular bassis and tells me He is right here with me in this sickness and in this process of healing (in the fire with me). I have discovered traits of God's character which I think I would have never encountered not being in this dark place. Just goes to show that no matter how deep in darkness you are, God is right there with you, that "hesed" word I see it, I see it in Him. I would appreciate your prayers very much. God has brought me through a lot already and I know He is not done! God bless you all! 🙏💝

Growing up in a Hispanic church mental health was never talked about & if someone was suffering they weren’t “religious” enough or close to God. I’ve had anxiety all my life due to traumatic events that happened to me growing up. I had people rebuke me! Tell me I’m not close to God. I finally decided to tell my family what had happened to me. I’m getting therapy, prayers from family and friends. I still struggle at times with anxiety, but I’m doing so much better. I just want to let everyone know you got this!!!! Pastor Craig, I love you and appreciate you more than you'll ever know. The way you preach always directly pulls me in like no other preaching I've ever listened to.. and trust me I've heard alot and have been to alot of churches. To the church, I want to apologize. I know I haven't meant to offend or hurt anyone but if I did I ask for your forgiveness as well. I love you all as well. Most importantly I know I've came a long way from where I was but I know I have so much longer to go but maybe it's closer than it is too far. I know I've been crying out so much lately it's probably been hard to listen to or watch me go through but each time I allow this to happen I don't let the sickness tell me to be quiet anymore because I do need help and I wouldn't ever receive it on my own. It's crazy how this evening everything going on in my mind led me to Jeremiah, the weeping prophet. After indulging in his story and the understanding of it I found myself here at this amazing word of God, by another great prophet, way stronger than myself. I want to seek help not necessarily for myself but for my loved ones, and for my love and faith in Jesus Christ. I just kept believing to myself that if I went and seeked help from a doctor and or medicine, that I would be dishonoring my faith in God. Now I see, I won't be dishonoring God, because by the more I think less about myself but others the more I'm honoring God. The more humiliated I let myself become, the more honor I give to my lord and saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank you all for everything and I just want to let you all know that I feel continue to fight the good fight and continue to praise God through the storm. For that in it's own is my testimony and all for his not my glory, Amen.

Thank you pastor Craig for this message, this series. It's past time for God's house to be a place where so many hurting and experiencing depression, anxiety, feeling defeated and hopeless, can stop hiding what they are experiencing and stand up in wisdom - and ask for help. We need a word every day, sometimes every hour and even every minute just like you said, because God's word is that truth that our hurting minds and hearts need to take us from slumped shoulders to raised hands of victory. My heart goes out to all of you that are suffering in the valleys in life in this present moment, and my prayer for each and every one of you, yes YOU, is that you continue in God's good word for you from sun up through sun down, that you too will find victory over your depression as "Tim" did, all for God's glory. And in these moments God fulfills His promise of providing a peace that surpasses all of man's understanding. God bless each and every one of you.

Lord, give him the glimmer of light that can lead him to more hope, more peace, and towards his future that you have planned for him. Please let his pain be offered up for more graces that he might truly feel your presence and peace. I appreciate this message coming across my recommended today.
I have been struggling with my life recently, I feel confused and heartbroken, even though everything seems okay in my life. I have a loving family, a loving significant other, a car, a roof over my head. There isn't any real reason I should feel this way.
I know I am my own worst enemy and it's hard to escape my internal dialogue. I prayed to God this morning, begging Him to pull me from this pit like He did for Jeremiah and David, even Jesus Himself.
Its true that depression does not discriminate and it will come at the most unexpected times. But my hope will remain with the Father until this darkness is lifted. I have to believe He will deliver me.
God bless this church for touching on something so important. Thank you for strengthening my hope today 💖🙏

Just so darn scared of it no matter the work and effort. And I recently did tell God how scared I was. I’d never done that before. I never admitted it. This man is right. There is so much I can say, but I know many of you don’t need all the details. You know. It does feel good to admit you’re afraid. Big step for a person.

Lord, Anthony is truly suffering. He is in so much pain he cannot always see that glimmer of light. Send the holy spirit to him now to give him the strength to go moment by moment until he can go minute by minute. Cast out all darkness, strength his Armor of God and remind him to put it on each day, shiny and new. Help him to hope that your plan for him moves him out of a very low rut. Give him the calm in the storm to do one good thing for himself a day, one loving thing for himself to remind him of his value and worth that you gave him when you created him. I ask that you bring his angels closer and help him to sense he is never alone. In Jesus's name, Amen.

I know this video is a year old but I only found it yesterday and I've been studying it for 2 days now. I've taken notes in my quiet time prayer journal. Depression has had such a hold on me at different times over my whole adult life. I'm 55 now. I've been Saved since I was 9 years old. Without God I'd have never made it this far. But as of late I'm going thru some especially difficult spiritual warfare with my depression and this story about Jeremiah has made a real difference for me! I did not know that he dealt with Depression. Bc of your obedience to God with this teaching on Depression I am refocused on FIGHTING in the Presence of God! Thank you so much!❤

I know how painful it is to feel shame for something you cannot control and was never a choice. Unfortunately many people are quick to analyze, classify, and judge because we are taught to label everything in our society instead of hold space for compassion and empathy. The only label that truly matters is that you are a child of God, are so wonderfully deserving of all the promises he has given, and nothing happening in your body will ever change that! I am sorry that you were so misunderstood and felt so alone in a shame that was never true. Bless you and your family!
