Unsurprising result. Contrary to their reputation, standing initiates aren't efficient compared to their competition. It's only in a garrison that they become good units.

@@awkwardsp00n I mean, yes, but that's not a property of Initiates. Otherwise, we'd have to treat flak track transportation and battle bunkers as a property of conscripts, and BFs and airborne as a property of GIs, and soon enough you're not talking about the units themselves but the side they're attached to.
To be clear, I'm not calling Initiates bad. I'm saying they're only better than Conscripts if garrisoned. For comparison, GIs are only better than Conscripts if you have a situation where their range advantage when deployed is relevant. Those niche cases are often more valued than the basic infantry's "all around" power.

Not so easy. At every death, the garrisoned building has a little delay before targeting again.

Still, I prefer buying sentry bcoz I'm lazy multitask. More importantly, which 1 is stronger? I might buy battle bunker + 5 cons if it's stronger than 4 sentry but now idk.

I know it's meant to be same cost battle but Yuri has cloning vat so wouldn't equal numbers make more sense? Yuri would get an extra 500 ini's for free
To make it fair we'd need to also account for the Industrial Plant discount
@@s-man5647 Unless I'm much mistaken, that doesn't apply to infantry. Only vehicles and aircraft.
When cloning vat gets built, basic infantries will be of little use except for garrisoning. So conscripts and initates' performance should be evaluated before the construction of high tech buildings.

See the problem? Treating synergies as part of any given unit for the purpose of these comparisons leads to madness.
This isn't a comparison between the various factions, or even a test of which unit is "better"; it's a test to see how massed deployments of a given unit fare against each other without micro (with same cost being a thing to keep it as fair as possible within this context). As it turns out, Conscripts perform very well in this sort of scenario and Initiates not so much.
Yuri has bad infantry because he can just take yours. Cannon fodder unless in a building

Problem of Initiates when ungarrisoned is their hit points totally suck. 100 HP compared to 125, not exactly a good trade for more firepower.
They're also the lowest ranged infantry at 3 range.
Aaaand the fact conscripts have armor while they do not.

The weird bit about range is that fractional ranges are not always presented clearly in-game.
They get targetting acquisition a bit faster but in practice seem to attack at 4 range still(at least for typical part unless you force the situation.
Though for sure, Deployed GI has more range.
The Apoc also has this too iirc. They might as well have the same range as a Rhino.
I just went and tested it. Initiates have the same range as Conscripts and standing GIs (less than deployed).
Weirdly, Elite Initiates have the same range as deployed Elite GIs, so they too can outrange base defenses. Never noticed that before.

so, some consccripts reach required range, start shooting, while other go past them to be in range and die and then those shooting are promoted and become badasses while being shielded by those that go closer?

I think G.I. still better. Especially when elite, they can outrange Sentry Gun and even Tesla coil. They're also good punching Rhino Tank and Apocalypse in numbers.
One example of Soviet mission that only uses Allied units without mods will be Fox and The Hound (Soviet mission nine) in vanilla RA2, and since MadHQ's remaster of the mission's map is honestly difficult - due to the myriad of opponents that will easily fail the mission - then when you wait for one of the Yuri clones to mind-control a IFV or SEAL therefore you would clear the southwestern part of the map where you would capture the only Tech Oil Derrick being located in the map and thus you would guard it if you only play the mission in Easy mode - where you will only have three Yuri clones but the mission will still be difficult unless FinalAlert 2 would fix that...
I think Conscripts are a better overal unit. They may not beat deploy GI but they do better job than GI else where. You get double HP plus better armor for 200 gold compared to GI. This makes them great meat shield in tank fight and very good at clearing defensive structure like prism tower. Their number is also excellent for mind control bait against yuri.
They themselves are not weak against MBTs like many people believe, I think they perform even better than GI in this regard because they do good damage plus more men and with the trick of spamming X button, tanks have a very hard time trying to crush them, while deploy GI is very vulnerable to crushing.
Elite GIs can outrange Sentry Guns but NOT Tesla coils.

Gi is only good in large battle due to their range. But in red alert u don’t spam infantry. U will still see more gi because of us paratroopers though

@@MegaOS_Ver_NEET I know that you can get snipers and different basic infantry into the same building but not something like flak troopers. Or maybe my version is already modded.
@@minhducnguyen9276 flak troopers can be modded to be able to garrison a building. if i remember correctly, the flak troopers can still use their ground weapon but not their air weapon.
That's why initiates are good only in buildings. And they're best on it. With good range and firepower.
But conscripts are good assault units. And massive conscript army real strong for assault even a heavy defend base. Coz they're pretty fat.

the reason why the initiate is the weaker than the conscript and G.I is because Yuri has access to the cloning vault witch will double the initiates numbers for the same price

initiates only become powerful when they enter a building and fire from inside. Otherwise they are really bad due to their low firing rate.

Depend on context. Conscripts are much better at clearing static defense structures and much more useful in tank fight than GI due to better armor and cheaper cost. You basically get 250 total HP with better armor on top for 200 credit with conscript compared to GI with only 125 hp, no armor for the same 200 credit.

Considering damage, ROF, warhead, and firing range,
100 deployed GIs' fire power is more than twice as strong as 200 conscripts' against tanks.
