    This look insane dude! Trying to do the same for my c100! Would u be able to link me the anamorphic adapter you used? And did u need to use any diopters or any extra adapters since iscorma lens are Nikon mount?

      I really don't remember where I got the adapter from... if it came with the lens or I got it afterward. I only own the iscorma lens, it didn't come with the taking lens. For the video, I used a Canon 40mm STM lens. However, nowadays I use m2 Asahi opt 50mm 1.4 lens with a cheap EOS to M42 adapter. Here are some photos: photos.app.goo.gl/w1MCqM5m96d9Rt1s6
      Diopters were used for the really close up stuff like the gamepad and Zig's face at the very start of the video. but not the cat :)
      I did a music video/movie with a friend and the lens was used on it: vimeo.com/366641469#t=580s

      It's nothing special a quick google / youtube search will show examples as anamorphic lens like the Iscorama all attach to the camera in a very similar way. In short, the Iscorama lens attaches to a taking lens, in this case, a Canon EF 40 mm f/2.8 STM lens via a Anamorphic Lens Clamps and then the taking lens is attached to the camera just like any other EF lens. The Iscorama is special as you don't need to focus both lenses. The taking lens is just set to infinity and all the focusing is done via the Iscorama.

    I was thinking of saving up for a c100 and doing a very similar setup but instead of an iscorama, I was gonna use the slr Magic 2x adapter.

    did you have any vignette issues with this lens and sensor combination?

    • @tanuki2k
      @tanuki2k  8 лет назад

      nope, what your seeing is 1:1, no cropping of the video.

      check out Andrew Reid's Anamorphic buyers guide at eoshd.com. it will help you pick the right taking lens for different Anamorphic lens and camera combos.

      +Benjamin van Houts thanks for the reply! I've been trying to go wider than 50mm on my Schneider Cinelux, and your 40mm setup is really close to what I want

    how much does this Iscorama 36 cost?

      @tanuki2k  6 лет назад

      Its a vintage lens so they pop up on ebay from time to time, maybe one every 6 to 12 months. I found the bigger brother the 54 going for US $5,000.00 on ebay right now if that gives you an idea.

    how did you achieve close focus?

    • @tanuki2k
      @tanuki2k  5 лет назад

      using Close Up Filters known as Diopter filter. They screw onto the front of the Anamorphic lens. Diopters come in Different Strengths rated as ever +1, +2, +4 and +10 and are normally sold in a pack but can be picked up as a single filter at a given Strength.

      @@tanuki2k thanks I own two vintage Fujinon +.75 diopters so it should go well with my ISCO 36 that I just bought recently. Should arrive tomorrow, and it also comes with +.5 Tokina. I was just curious which brand and which strength you used?

      @tanuki2k  5 лет назад

      @@CarloTimothy Nice! I've been trying to track down a +.5 as I only have the Strengths listed in my last comment. Most close up stuff in the video was likely short on the 1+. What taking lens are you going to use with your new ISCO 36? My go-to as of late has been a SMC Takumar 50m 1.4. next investment will be ever a 35mm or something in the telephoto end of things.

      Benjamin van Houts I recently purchased a Carl Zeiss Jena 58mm f2 with 17 aperture blades! it’s so small and light - front thread size of 40.5mm! I also have Helios 44-2, and a crappy copy of a Jupiter 9 85mm. btw I believe I also own a Vivitar set of diopters that are 1, 2, 4, 10 - they were very cheap
