A significant source for water leaks on these trailers are the vapor door "gaskets". They have a little foam backer that seals to the aluminum siding on the exterior, and over time the compress and don't take up the slack. I would look at that area if you have not. Run a bead of sealant along the top of any of those foam gasket areas. I had virtually every one leaking on my toyhauler that needed a floor repair.
What this video showed me is I don’t need to go tearing up my floor. I have weak spots not soft spots. I would like to replace the center of my floor in the living area so that the wood rest on the joist. Good tip
I have an older Lance 2400 fifth wheel in which, I built a mobile podcast studio. Been doing "log cabin" style repairs and upgrades since day one. We are going to replace the bathroom floor tonite and I browsed videos looking for ideas. Yours was one of the best I have seen, and the little trick you played on the finished products had my helper and I rolling! LMMFAO Good one, you got us! Happy trails.
I will give you credit. That floor being like that is alot of work. I had a similar problem in my camper bathroom. It was a smaller spot that was rotten from water damaged. Nothing like you did. It looks good though dude. You did a good job with what you had. Your right alot of people would have trashed it. Now you got it the way you want it. I love you running the mower into the side to push the generator back in 🤣 🤣. That was classic. It worked though. Good job man. Hopefully now you can just enjoy it and have fun camping. 👍
Great job! thanks for taking the time to video. I am in the process of repairing a small portion of the floor behind the wheel well and repairing the wall under the window above that in my toy hauler. Many of your steps are very helpful! Thanks
Very well done! - The use of press down linoleum sections in the bathroom will need to be redone when they start curling-up on the corners and coming up...they’re f’ing useless. Everyone I’ve ever seen use them (myself included) has regretted installing them.
Wow, that sure was a ton of work and very patient considering it snows where you live at. I know a guy who has a 2013 model with a soft floor in some spots. It has two slide outs.
What did you end up doing on the very bottom where you cut up the plastic waterproof membrane which is the barrier between the road and your floor? In one of the videos you said you were putting the Styrofoam under the plywood but I really want to know what you put on the bottom of the Styrofoam. Thanks your your videos!
I think I missed something. What was the cause of the damage. I think mine came from the hatch door that comes in under the bed in the back corner. I plan to pull out the door and add new butyl tape and weather stripping. I hope that will keep it from anymore damage. I have a huge project ahead of me and need my camper by July 11 of this year. don't know if it will happen.
@@PinkCampfire The walls were still solid enough, I don't want to remove the siding etc. The previous owner repaired the inside wall panels well enough so I decided not to open them up. Doubt there's any insulation in there though.
You should install one of them Chinese diesel heater , i had one in my old camper and -10 out side it would burn us out of it , you can adjust them but I burnt mine on hi all the time so no build up would happen, not bad for a $100 and great on diesel , just a thought
How did you close up the bottom of the trailer. I will be doing something similar to my parents RV and its all sealed off with a tarp like inclosure, not sure how to reseal it again once i cut through it like you did.
I used bubble insulation, stapled it up, and sealed it against the metal "joists" / framing with metal tape for the most part. Probably would be better to use new underbelly material either as one big sheet over everything, or cut it down to fit in between the framing and seal it to the framing.
Hi i The same thing happened to me, I bought the used RV, the person sold it to me as if it was good to live in and since it is my first time buying an RV, I saw it and it looked good but in reality it is very serious, it was not worth the money I paid which was $ 5500, the roof I only put my arm to lean on to get a cover of the bathroom vent and it is soft, I have to take out the shower, I just stood on it and it started to make noise and it was soft, the floor in the center and in the kitchen cabinets were destroyed, I do not know how the cabinets were supported because the floor is damaged and there was a musty stench in those areas and to top it off the refrigerator and the heater, he removed the gas lines, the refrigerator is a regular one and the ramp is about to fall, the guy caught me for a fool, I will have to continue sleeping in my tent and wait to get money together to be able to recover since I am disabled by social security, my RV is the same brand 2008 weekend warrior super lite fb 1900 change the kitchen and bathroom position and the bed It doesn't go all the way down, it's because of hydraulic bottles. I would like you to explain how to remove the shower to fix the floor and if possible, how do you lower your bed to the floor? This is my email address joeantoniorivera@gmail.com, thank you.
We just bought a 28 ft weekend warrior suoer lite fifth wheel toy hauler, similar you yours. The floors are completely rotten. We need to replace the whole thing.
Here's the original video showing the floor when I got it: ruclips.net/video/npKJIDoS660/видео.html
You got me with the fake video when going inside! I was like, holy shit, this can't be possible!
Being someone who has flipped 8 houses. Im now doing a camper for myself I dont know which one is more difficult. Congratulations nice job.
You did a hell of a job on that man , looks great ! Happy camping

true, but the tiles cost me about $3 lol, they're still holding although some shifted ever so slightly

how much did the trailer cost you? how much overall did you spent on the repairs?
Fantastic job you must have the patience of a saint, looks fab now, thanks for sharing. Cheers. Andy , Scotland.
awesome job, I have the same gray flooring, love the gray moldings
Your videos helped so much to understand how we need to do. Thank you!!!
Came out beautiful! Great skills

I know it's late. Great job nice looking work
Nice job considering what you were dealing with!
Beautiful workmanship ! What brand material did you use in toilet area ?
thanks! Not sure the brand, it was just peel and stick vinyl tile that you can get from most flooring / hardware stores

@@aDIYCarGuy did you also have to repair water damage in the walls?

Seriously, how do I find. Reliable affordable person to do this for me ASAP. Also want dinette storage area converted to doggy den! Any suggestions??
I'm so very proud of you
I wish I could bring my 2000 nomad skyline to you and pay you to fix my camper.

that's a pretty cool idea, esp considering I have a 25 gal fuel tank on my camper, I see some of those heaters run on gas too
Just wondering if you still have it and if it’s for sale if so what are you asking for it
I still have it, but not selling yet, maybe 9-13k if I do sell it
What is the thickness of the floor plywood
3/4"
Nice work! You might consider publishing the name of the previous owner who stiffed you -
Dude you are amazing!!! Wish we were friends

How did you repair black membrane on bottom of trailer??
RV underbelly tape or patch kit
Who is the music in background?
The first one is called Chase by The Brothers Records, the second one is called Dragonfly by Quincas Moreira
How did you end up sealing the bottom of the trailer with the vapor barrier?
