8-Bit Video Game Themes. Back then, they were just video game themes (wow, who would have guessed though, am I right). They were short and sharp, kind of like...a short pencil. But just like a short pencil, they had potential to create amazing things (with limitations). And so they did. Now what would it be like if one was to create an 8-bit video game theme in I don't know...10 minutes? You'd probably get garbage. Try making a song using only 3 notes at any given time (a.k.a proper 8-bit music)
Actually if used properly a 8 bit sounds Chip can do slot more then that for instance the sid Chip in a commodore 64 has only three voices but some in-game music had over 9 tracks they did this by constantly switching what instrument each voice was playing so that to the human brain it sounds like all the instruments are playing constantly
