Spot on Will. This song always makes me cry. It is so powerful yet obviously an acknowledgement of the unwinnable battle that can't be won that we all - from birth to death - fight but despite "go on". The man in his 40s or 50s you see them cut away to is his father. The show this is from, called The Singer I think, took place in China. His Dad also flew in from Kazakhstan, unknown to Dimash, for his performance of Opera 2, which is beyond spectacular. After which, after bringing down the house!, he asked his "Daddy", "Did I sing well?" Dah!

It shows the entire segment including Dimash suddenly, beautifully, sweetly realizing his Dad was there - it's priceless. His Dad insisted that no one tell Dimash he was there because he didn't want him to feel any more pressure. If ever there was anyone who was born to sing it is the beautiful, the beyond talented Dimash.

It's hard for people to admit, but Dimash is technically and vocally much better than Freddie. As for this song, I really like Dimash's cover. I like how well he uses different techniques and vocal registers. This is already his handwriting. He is free both on stage and vocally and can do whatever he wants. Very few have this freedom and even fewer can do it so naturally.
Dimash is vocally much better than Freddie but I feel Freddie had a much better connection to the words. The way he sang lyrics was astonishingly beautiful.
@@BangkokVoiceCoach Indeed, as much as I love Dimash and as ingenious as he is in terms of singing, I must admit that pronunciation of languages other than his own and Russian, is his weakest point. And we must remember that Dimash did not speak English at all when he sang this song in 2017. Of course this shows in the performance. Also, I am afraid that unless he learns to accept the services of a diction coach, he won't have the big breakthrough in the West that he apparently desires.

Here is, what I guess, is a minority opinion. I like some Queen songs, like this one. I don’t see the hype of Freddy Mercury. I never have. I know I’ll get blasted for this, but his performances were clownish. Sorry fans. Dimash’s English is better and better all the time. He’s going to sing with an accent for ever. That’s Dimash.

When Dimash moved to Santa Monica 7 months ago, where Stevie also lives, the work entered a new phase. Dimash knows what he needs to do, and with whom, to achieve his goals. He's been relentlessly pursuing his dreams for over a decade. Each step has been incremental, strategically planned. He's always had a Plan B and even Plan C in case life or professional relationships presented obstacles to his goals, as we've seen a number of times. Six years ago, he didn't need to sing with great English diction on Chinese television in a country where billions of people don't speak English. Now he needs to have great English singing pronunciation to sing songs produced by Walter Afanasieff or David Foster (both also L.A. based and working with Dimash). English immersion and proximity to one of the best vocal coaches in L.A. gives Dimash the best path to that goal. And voila! there he is. Surprise! But not.
Can you please react to more of his Kazakh songs? Have you done Samaltau? If not, I highly recommend it. And not to mention, Daididau (Bastau version) 🙏

Now I'd like to know your opinion about the newly released Weekend by Dimash and Burak Yeter. I'm having problems with it for a number of reasons.. I don't feel it shows Dimash s mastery of his voice to good effect, the depth of feeling we're used to from D is missing.. And.. Trash a room.. Dimash??? Really??? Is a pharyngeal voice what others have referred to as a "heady mixed" voice? He lost his voice two days before, ( recieved injection in the neck I saw the footage).
