That helped a lot! Thanks. The resulting rounding isn't quite perfect on my end (using the square-to-round method) but it's close enough.

Yes, I agree the results are not perfect but hopefully close. Would love to see a proper spiral feature added to Photoshop

Love your teaching style. Do you have a tutorial for placing shapes on a spiral using the curvature pen tool?

Not yet, not sure - something to do !!

Can you do this using Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer?

Yes, something I must do as well. Creation of the spiral is not so straight forward as there is no spiral tool either nor is there a curvature tool but you can create a curved path or convert straight lines to curved smooth paths and then use the text tool on the path (spiral or otherwise) and add the text to follow the path. Same in Affinity Designer and Photo

I keep trying and trying, but my type will only fill to the next point on the spiral. What am I doing wrong?!

Not really sure. You can move the start point by clicking on the text and then using the cmd / control and moving that start point. Another issue maybe the alignment. There are a number of videos on YT that get really deep into how to move and format and move around the text on your path, a quick search on 'photoshop type on path' will probably display a number and that help the moving the text and setting how much or how little of the text is displayed

@@Graphicxtras1 Thanks so much for your reply! I keep trying and sometimes it works and sometimes I see a little circle with an x which seems to be a stop point. Your video really is the clearest directions, so thank you for that!

thank you for that (YT has introduced a new messaging feature so I actually got to see this message !!)

It worked for the spiral! Unfortunately, it does not work for a square spiral layout. After verifying and connecting all path points, my text will only wrap the outermost line of the spiral OR the center loop and nothing in between. Wish that there was a square spiral sample.
