      Sometimes he's not, but he does literally tell you to hate your family and be willing to give them up for God. Also Jesus was the one who introduced the idea of Hell in the Bible specifically as a place of torment (previous references come from older Hebrew ideas which don't actually include active suffering), which is of course the single most hateful thing in the religion. Jesus says a lot of nice things, sure, but let's not pretend all of his ideas were peachy.

    Part of the reason the Civil War started is that the south had been led to believe their victory in such a war was assured, due to the fact that they saw their opposition's reluctance to violence as a sign that they were weak and easy to defeat.

    Friend Dog Studio once made a video on Republican Jesus that satirically portrays a version of Jesus that has adopted conservative values while referencing well-known passages such as Matthew 25:35-40 satirised as “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, and behold, now I am lazy and entitled. You should not have done that”. This is definitely the version of Jesus who loves borders, guns, unborn babies or more accurately unborn foetuses, and economic prosperity/capitalism, and hates homosexuality, abortion due to him loving unborn foetuses, taxes, welfare, universal healthcare, immigrants, refugees, and people of colour. The Ten Commandments also take precedence over the beatitudes with this version of Jesus. At the end of the video, scripture is quoted accurately for the first time with Mark 7:9 stating “You have a clever way of rejecting God’s law in order to uphold your own teachings” by Regular Jesus. Jesus would really be a liberal since his teachings and message are in line with liberal values. I really don’t like how frequently conservatism is intertwined with Christianity when conservative values are completely antithetical to Christianity. If Jesus were on earth right now, he would definitely go into our churches or even CPAC and he would flip over tables and whip out the money changers just like he did in the temple. He would even cuss out the church leaders and he most definitely cuss out those conservative speakers at CPAC

There is no other way. It's our choice to receive that gift or reject it. You don't need to go to a church building and listen to a preacher to receive the gift of salvation. God is not found exclusively in church buildings, he is everywhere.

    I don't believe Jesus died for the sins, because in the Hebrew Bible God said he won't punish the innocent for the sins of the guilty. I don't believe Jesus was a human sacrifice, because father said in the Hebrew Bible not to commit human sacrifices. God doesn't lie, because he's not a man nor will he be a man he is a spirit... I believe Jesus was crucified but he did not get crucified for your sins at is a lie! I believe in Jesus is basic teachings, but I do not believe in anything Paul had to say... The only reason I believe in Jesus's teachings, it's because they match up with the Hebrew Bible 🤷 father God said do not deal treacherously with each other, and father got also said he is known all over the nation's, and he won't share his glory with anyone.

      This is incorrect the Hebrew Bible was written and compiled, while during the time Jesus walked the earth. The New Testament starts being written down in the late 40s ad and beginning with Paul's letters, which were finished around the early 60s then the gospels and Acts and Revelation around the late 60s early 70s.
      I won't argue on whether Christianity is conservative or not, because that's a really mundane argument.

    • @WereScrib
      @WereScrib Год назад +1

      Echoing what the Dude stated, there's nothing particularly conservative about the New Testament, and none of the canonical books were written in a timeframe of 'hundreds of years.' with the possible exception of the pastorals and the book/Epistle of John which at their latest academic dating is about a century after Christ. There also wasn't a Catholic church, yet, the churches that would first sprout up in organized fashion are the Ethiopian Tahwedo churches in Africa, the Syrian Churches in the east and the Armenian churches in Armenia. Rome follows after and its early lineage is most closely seen in orthodoxy with heavy doses of neoplatonicism and stoicism. The Catholic church really doesn't start as its own entity until at the earliest about 600 AD as the Roman Diocese and the real unique teachings don't really begin until Muslim conquests are halted in 750 or so and a distinct rift begins developing in east and west. The Catholic church as truly unique and separate doctrine doesn't happen until 1053 and obviously really starts in 1054 with the schism or so before the schism, which is, frankly, the beginning of an ethnic struggle in earnest born of a political struggle.
      People don't really think of ethnicity as it was then, but 'Latin' and 'Greek' were the sticking point and responsible for genocides on both sides. With the massacre of the Latins in Byzantine roman Empire, the crusades mostly being against Eastern Greek and Arab Christians, the Thessalonian massacres against the Greek church, etc. While it was as many have stated, primarily a political divide informed heavily by secular political needs, it would evolve into that ethnic struggle based on theological differences heavily around the Catholic Church's breach of tradition (if minor, legitimately if you look at the 'original' upset, it was mostly about bread making practices and who had political power. Most of the rest of the east/west schism are arguments made after the fact. Though the Catholic church adopts what the Orthodox consider 'pagan scholastic and contract based spirituality' rather than the experiential/spiritual form of the east of theosis, which is put into sharp contrast by the hesychasm controversy of the 14th century which is really when both sides truly declared that there was an absolute fundamental difference in teaching that went much deeper than a few traditions and the Catholic church declaring its lordship via the pope.
      I mean, you don't need to take my word for it, go read Marx and Engels. Engels explicitly writes that there's nothing in Communism not already ventured by Christianity, he just believes a secular institution would not fall to 'paranoia, purification and black police.'
      The newest book of the old testament is usually Maccabees, Tobit, and for the few other deuterocanonical books. The youngest old testament book to ever enjoy sorta-kinda canon status is 4th Maccabees, which is usually in the appendix or in the 'useful spiritual aid' kinda sections of Romanian orthodox, Greek orthodox, Romanian Catholic and Georgian orthodox books, that book was a stoicism text from about the same time as Christ but for an explicitly Jewish audience, rather than a Christian one.

      And, books of the Christian Bible were written in Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Latin -during persecution of the Roman Empire. Women were more accepted in church work, education, and procedure,…women were limited later, even to only be Nuns, as the post-Roman world stagnated.
      Christ told his Apostles to go out and preach, and heal -yet, if you are not accepted in that town or region, to carry on up the road, and preach elsewhere, without malice. The whole “conversion by sword” was not part of Christian theology.
      American colonies, and exploration were founded, while Europe was going through religious wars, the Reformation, and persecution. Yes, some colonies were set for one aspect of faith, like Maryland, for Catholics, or Pennsylvania for Quakers. Other British colonies were strictly for resources of lands, farms, fishing, lumber. America’s founding fathers rebelled against the British King, who was also the leader of official faith!
      And, it was one of the Pope’s, who divided the Earth on map that his loyal Catholics in Spain and Portugal would divide the lands around, for Faith and resources - and slavery was approved by the Vatican. The Protestant nations of England, Netherlands, and Catholic France (who had set up their own Pope!) were not just going to sit and let the new continents be taken by rivals.
      Don’t pull this “Christian nationalism” crap, on me - I know history, geography, and faith, and I am a damn Liberal.

      @@brianc6443It's thought that Peter never even stepped foot in Rome. It's catholic doctrine/tradition and extra biblical.
