We were all robbed of a musical genius who would have filled our minds with many wonderful songs to this very day. Miss you John, every day
And we got robbed by Faul Mccartney. Who took unfinished Lennon songs and made them Beatles songs. The SOB
Thanks USA.
Whatvwas he supposed to do with them ? John Lennon was a Beatle@@emmpedno2161
Beautiful. I'm like falling in love with John's voice again. I miss him.
Those sad piano chords he plays on ballads always choke me up.
❤
Yeah, with John, sad is where the beauty is.
Dope!!
Truly one of a kind. There will will never be another one as wonderful and special as John was.
Agree.
Com toda certeza
John and George both had great musical talent and great unforgettable voices.
Missing them both...much!.❤
Neither had " unforgettable " voices ,Especially George!! are you f k n tone deaf .. John is flat here at least ten times. 🤣🤣
The honesty in his voice is the thing. Not a moment of inauthenticity. So sweet
So true.
That’s the core of what made John who he was. The honesty and authenticity, in everything, always. If you don’t like him, it’s not because he was deceptive.
@@AmaJean Great comment. He was incredibly honest, even if he paid a price. He was the rarest soul, in so, so many ways. There will never be another like him.
All these years later I still can't Imagine a world without John. ✌& ❤.....
John Lennon voice is golden..this music is of his youth..time ..it's only appropriate that he should be singing this..thank you for this post greatly appreciated!!!!

Beautiful! I love John’s voice so much.. I miss him even more!
We love you much, John! ❤😊
I can't believe all these yrs of following the Beatles
and I never heard this before.
Interesting!
John did an old time rock and roll album. He sings several old it’s. His version of STAND BY ME is fantastic.
Same with me, Kathy
Used to sing this song over and over when I was a kid. Thrilling to know that John loved it too.
I'm one of many for who lived through the day the music died when John was murdered. I never got over it. These songs are still a joy, but bittersweet to hear since 1980.
I wonder if that was an outtake from his rock and roll album , I have that in my Lennon collection and the covers another sam cooke song on it. RIP JWL.
I myself never have come to terms with his death . Lennon was the greatest > Period!
@@bradleychurch8536 I will never name the assassin, I refuse to give him the infamy that he wanted to achieve.
@jamesseiler39 considering Chapman’s connection to the Hinckley family, and thus by extension Bush family and further CIA, I’d argue naming names is important in this case, although the actual facts will probably never come out
@@subg8858 well sir,my roots run deep in American soil my son did the ancestry thing and found out our family first came to these shores between 1620 and 1630 in Jamestown dozens of my family fought for this country and I disagree and will not acknowledge that cowardly assassin and thus grant him the notoriety that he used as an excuse to shoot John Lennon. I'm 63 I was at a friend's house playing euchre when the news broke, I had to leave and go home so no one would see the tears in my eyes..
Beautiful! It is such a great tragedy that he is no longer with us!
That was beautiful. What a voice. What a talent.
This was sung by Sam Cooke if I’m not mistaken- Cool to hear John sing it in the style of his Free as a Bird demo!
Absolutely right. Sorry people. Tis a (lovely) cover ✌️
Aretha also covered it.
Sam wrote this song and sung went to #1
As have others. The Everly Brothers, to name one act.@@thelordofliberty6984
Everlys did a great version
Miss you so much John.
This was a most welcomed surprise. Great pic of John, too. 👍
Sam Cooke can never be equaled .. but John, had he recorded this in the studio.. would have put his own stamp on it. Even the piano chords, banged out as if a kid was playing .. quintessentially john.
After equaled… you need to put in my opinion.
@@Ghost-sp9ddit’s obviously his opinion, he’s saying it. 🤔
ya , fuck that idiot, just my opinion ,@@DrMark1981
That’s the beauty of this. It’s him alone at the piano. It’s like listening to someone in the next room making magic
He’s just jamming here but his charisma still peeps through. This is a n absolute pearl of a song (the original) too👌
I will ever miss my loved JOHN LENNON. YES,,,,, I love him with all my heart. !!!!!!! 😶
I love this. John was so magical ❤
One of those great classics that was a memorable part of his life. .
So true ...
I agree
Miss John's music so much it still hurts after all these years. Thanks for the memories.❤
OMG.....THE CUT-OFF OF THE CASSETTE RECORDER AT THE END.....
Brings Personal Memories of my use of cassette recorders to record at that Tme! And, maybe John Lennon was REAL! ❤💋
What a great voice
"You Send Me" is a song written and originally recorded by American singer Sam Cooke, released as a single in 1957 by Keen Records. Produced by Bumps Blackwell and arranged and conducted by René Hall. The song, Cooke's debut single, was a massive commercial success, becoming a No. 1 hit on both Billboard's Rhythm & Blues Records chart and the Billboard Hot 100" Wikipedia
What amazes me is that George Martin said John didn't like his own voice! John Lennon had one of the most beautiful voices.
I would absolutely agree that John had a good voice-I would go so far as to say that he probably had the best voice of the 4 Beatles… But he was clearly not trained as a singer, and it really SHOWS here-his sense of pitch, technique, and breath control was absolutely terrible. In fact, I find his poor pitch painfully noticeable in MOST recordings where his voice could be heard dry, without double tracking, pitch correction, or any other vocal enhancement effects. John Lennon had a good voice, but he simply did not have the technique needed to sing on pitch like Placido Domingo or Luciano Pavarotti. Heck, even POP singers like Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, or Johnny Matthis could’ve run circles around John Lennon in terms of vocal technique and breath control.
@@zuperdee I think John had one of the finest singing voices ever. His voice carried gravitas and emotion. When John sings, people listen.
@@multitrackers3770 No doubt, but the exact same thing could be said of Placido Domingo or Paul Simon, both of whom could sing with equal gravitas, equal emotion, and with far better pitch and vocal control. Their voices no doubt lasted better than Lennon’s too, had he lived to his 80’s. Paul McCartney’s voice sounds horribly shot today, no doubt from the way he abused it.
@@zuperdee yes, Paul's voice has gone this past decade. But he is almost 82 years old! Lennon's voice carried far more gravitas than those of Paul Simon or Domingo. Lennon could sing rock and roll, love songs, ballads, comedic songs. Nobody could touch him.
Wow, he was just noodling on the piano with little rehearsal and no production and it sounds great. Imagine if he did it in a studio.
John is simply amazing here. Genius
Amazing! We miss you John!
Rare gem here... Cool✌️
I miss you terribly John.
Preciosa Canción, me gustó mucho este estilo de JOHN LENNON 🎤🎵👏 l love You 🥰

Thank you for this post.
Very beautiful version by john lennon
Sam cooke ! What an artist ! What a.voice !
Sam and John for eternity !!
No Problem
All of us who love your music and your voice miss you Jhon!
John is the best rock singer and songwriter of all time, most original and inventive as well.
Agree.
I believe so. Lennon might be the greatest all around Rock n Roll musician of all time?
I've never heard John sing this before. Thank you for remastering this unreleased song. It's another example of John playing a rock'n';roll classic like Stand By Me. He loved those rock'n'roll classics.
Paul, George and Ringo could work on this track like they did Free as a bird and Real love....
George might have to phone it in.
@@stephenfeldman8104LOL!!
I told they could do this when they work in free as a BIRD a real love , idiot! @@stephenfeldman8104

@@stephenfeldman8104 Cosmically, as George would have said.
Tady je tolik krásných komentářů,to je moc hezký,John by měl určitě radost, kdyby viděl, že má tolik fanoušků, kteří ho mají moc rádi ❤
Love these unreleased John songs. If there are more please Yoko give this gift to the world 🌎🙂✌️
Lennon’s 70s demos including this one have been around for years. There must he a hundred of them
Why in the world wasn't this on an album ?????
Love you John. Dirk, from the railway station, first road to the left, to Hallaar. Number 37A. Flanders.
...as always,John Lennon could lend his unique talent to any song and turn it into a piece of beauty ❤

Ok, Yoko send the tape to Giles. Let him fixed it, and then released it!

John crooning Sam's chords of fame. A quiet night in 1958 for me and the World.
This is one of my favourite Sam Cooke songs , first time I have heard Johns version 😍
Best singer of all 4 of the Beatles.
What’s Ringo got to do with it
Well, he certainly knew beautiful songs when he heard them. One of the things one can hear in this is John's emotional involvement with the song. That is something that comes through in all of his music. Whatever kind of person he was, and, like most, he had his ups and downs, his true nature is evident in his music. RIP John Lennon.
Jinak překrásná písnička, poslouchám jí a slzy mi tečou z očí,moje srdeční záležitost 💓💓🥰
But It Is a Sam Cook's song❤
@janaparoubkova5I895 I've always thought that John's covers of Leave My Kitten Alone, Money, You've Really Got a Hold on Me and Some Other Guy(with Paul), were better than the originals. I also feel that his versions of Sweet Little Sixteen, Carol and Rock and Roll Music were at least at par with Chuck Berrys' originals. 👍
It's pretty well documented that John was not enamoured with his own voice, and often wanted it to be "altered" in the studio. On this and many other home demos, he must have known he had the power to melt the hardest of hearts. When AI is used in this careful and respectful way, it's benefits are welcome. Please let it always be so.
I think this melody sounds very much like the foundation of what would eventually become Real Love.

Real beautiful tribute to both John and Sam :)
Beautiful tune ❤
Estiloso... como sempre foi.

Wow!
Beautiful!!!
Fucking hell his voice was still so good in 79
Why are you surprised? He was only 40.
A I hello
John měl moc krásný hlas, strašně ráda ho poslouchám a on svůj hlas neměl rád a mezitím měl tak krásný, sametový hlas nebo naopak zbožňuji jeho chraplák v Twist and shout, to prý byl nastydlý,ale zpívá úžasně ❤❤
@@ptegsotica5895AI Goodbye
It was still great in 1980 when he recorded Double Fantasy.
Great song with loads of potential. It's interesting that the demos he made from this time are similar in style, yet the album they should have appeared on (Double fantasy) has no songs from Lennon in this style. Maybe he thought they were just musical doodles. Of course someone with Lennon's genius, even a doodle is a masterpiece.
It's beautiful for sure, but it's a Sam Cooke cover (assuming that's the original).
@@furrygoose94 yes OK, I thought it sounded familiar.
Yes, Sam wrote and recorded the original. John covered another Ssm Cooke song, Bring It On Home To Me, on the Rock & Roll album.
@@patricksmith4424 It's rare that I prefer a cover but of course Lennon isn't just anybody! I love his demos, they have a spiritual quality to me.
By the time demos are finished in a studio they sound nothing like the demos. Most of the songs on DF started out like this
Thank you John. ❤ RIp.
John is amazing. But someday, when Paul meets John, we will realize once again how great Paul is.
an another beautiful song thank you John
I love John 4ever!!!!!!!
john
, this 1 was so good.
I love John’s commitment to the song, you can tell his loved it. Here is a fun fact. John and Paul both did “rock and roll” albums, where they did some of their favorite early rock song. The one artist both covered, Sam Cooke - “Bring It On Home To Me”
Took 25yrs to reach me
light-years away at the time of its creation
it made it
A snippet I’ve not heard before. Thanks.
Great Steve Miller version of this song on 'Fly Like An Eagle'
He is missed - he had plans to work with Paul again before his death …. One can only Imagine .
Some may say your a dreamer, but your Not the only one
Paul and Ringo should work with these song
John loved himself some Sam Cooke. And just black music in general. Very obvious in the way he performed. May God rest his soul.
This tune should be commercially released!
John always seemed to favor this lower register of the piano. It's almost a signature of his. So beautiful. Thank God he didn't include "You Send Me" on his "Rock 'n' Roll" covers album. Phil Spector would have made a total mess of it.
Agreed. Spector was all ego and smothered too much echo over alot of his productions. Glyn Johns or George Martin were the real producers.
Great thanks for this brilliant demo.
I sometimes wonder if this world just isn't meant for anyone too up lifting for too long....And that's what he did....Lifted the world with his lyrics and melodies....I guess we should be thankful we got him on this Earth for as long as we did. Along with Elvis and Michael Jackon and Prince ect ect....We could have been born a century earlier and missed all of it.
I would say we will miss another John or Beatles in a century from now but I don't think so at all.
John romântico é lindo de ouvir
Paul & Ringo should tackle this too!
Great potential ❤
It’s great to hear this this morning. Thanks for posting - good job!
With buddy holly i think they was the voices of the solitude and a part of everyone feel it.
