De-dollarization is reducing the dependence of global trade on US dollars. As mentioned in the video, many countries are bypassing dollars and conducting trade in their own currencies. This is de-dollarization.

You need to think of gold and dollars as two commodities getting exchanged in a barter system.
If we print more dollars then it's supply would increase and hence their will be a reduction in its price.
Meanwhile, the supply of gold is more or less constant. That means, its value remains intact.
As the dollar is losing value, that means more amount of dollars will be needed to buy a requisite amount of gold.
Hence, in dollar terms, the value of gold will rise.
That's precisely the reason why many countries have been voraciously buying gold from the open market. Notable among them is China.
China has been reducing its investments in US govt bonds and has been consistently buying gold eversince the Global Financial Crisis.
The countries are already making their moves but the general population across the globe has no idea what is really happening.

Oh yes. We covered that in a lot of detail in the classes. I don't think the gold standard will be back given the fact that the world has seamlessly moved towards digitalisation.
Cryptocurrency is the right step towards it provided the supply becomes constant and cannot be tampered with.
The governments I believe would not want it to become a standard as it will prevent them from siphoning money out of the system.
Don't really know what lies ahead but one thing is for sure that the US has abused its monetary policies much to the disadvantage of the other countries. Slowly, the countries are realising this thing. They are just waiting for an opportune time to topple the US.
