@@realpars Sorry to say , your courses so expensive as compare to Indian currency so in India Lots of student can't afford PLC SCADA course , thank you if you make some changes .
Phenomenal job explaining this. Can you guys do videos on some of the specific SCADA systems that are prevalent in renewable energy plants? Also, what happened to your app?
Thank you, Sam! I will happily pass this on to our course developers for future video courses. Regarding our RealPars App, we have recently optimized our learning platform which includes some highly requested features. As a result we had to decide to no longer support the RealPars App. You can use our webpage to continue watching the video courses. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the video....when talking about the power supply of the PLC, does it mean it converts the AC supplied to it to DC, which is in turn used to power the I/O modules...Hence, we don't need an external DC supply
Power supply applies for the plc modules but not for the fields devices.... Could please explain? In this case where do they got powered or activated from?
Hi Wassem. There will be external power supplies that are used specifically to power field devices. For example, if the Digital Input module is a DC voltage type, there will be an external DC power supply available to power the field devices such as switches. This external DC power supply is usually mounted somewhere in the same cabinet as the PLC.
@@realpars but the power supply of the cpu also provides power to the control circuit of the module. Is that right? And i suggest to have an episode or rather a series about the grounding of the PLC components. Great content 👍
Yes, this is one way to pass power to each module, but many times this is done with a backplane connection if the power requirements are small. Most systems use an external 20VDC power supply for the I/O cards to separate the PLC and I/O circuits.

I don't understand why PLCs are still being used in the industry. Taking into account that they are basically microcontrollers made with proprietary hardware and software. Which means that the PLCs industry is all about making profits for the big PLC manufacturers.
its not only a microcontroller and yes basically you can build all of the components by yourself, but it would be very time consuming which will cost you alot in the end
