Steam at Bristol Docks

  • On the 9th April 2006, we witnessed some shunting around Bristol Docks, by Avonside 0-6-0 Saddle Tank, 'Portbury'.
    Portbury was built in 1917 by the Avonside Engine Company, to build number '1764'.

    my very first steam cab ride was on that railway, on that loco i think, or a very similar one. awesome vid dude, maybe i'll use the steam sound for my GTSE shunting :) lol

    aye.... tis a familiar sight... but for how long? apparently the guided busway peoples want these tracks

      It's a preserved line, and a piece of history. I don't think they'll get it.

      The other end of the line is now the road for the buses and some of the other track and buildings are now new restaurants and shops.
