Plateup is if overcooked and cooking mama meshed together and made a roguelike, you create a restaurant as a group and have to survive to your 15th day. If a single customer is un happy, the whole restaurant closes down.

This thing is the attention span savior. Legitmately never focused on a video like this since i was a small child.
Apparently if a customer's order is on a mover adjacent to the table the customer will grab it automatically, think conveyor-belt sushi place. The mover doesn't need to be pointed at the table just adjacent.

Then there are smart grabbers to take dirty dishes and an auto sink that’s washes it all. All you need to do is make the food then

Eating here sounds like the most dystopian thing I can imagine. It's like a protein factory. There is the constant whir of machinery inside, but you can't see anything as there is no light but a candelabra by the entrance. You just stand outside until a strange man in squeaky sneakers runs around the bar and clears a spot for you. No words are spoken. You sit at an empty bar table, and notice that the seats are oriented in a way where nobody can make eye contact with one another. A second man drops a single plain hamburger in front of you. You scarf the hamburger down in seconds, and once again with no words spoken, you drop your money on the table and walk out.
This for some reason makes me laugh
Well, there’s also a chandelier on one of the tables also giving out some light. But other than that, there’s basically light to help you eat or see. Oh, right, no bathrooms. It’s a small store i guess, so that’s kinda reasonable.
Rimworlds nutrient paste dispenser sounds way tastier than what they have, its just a bun with a patty thats it

They'd have to get lucky with a few key upgrades I think. More coffee tables would have helped, but there's also an upgrade that removes the thinking time (I think it's called Impulse decisions or something?) and not getting the double-ordering upgrade is absolutely necessary for the long-haul.
So it really comes down to a lot of luck as to whether they get manageable upgrades or run-ending ones like the double orders.

The mop and floor buffer are a little bit weird. There are actually two kinds of messes in the game, there's like greasy messes from cooking and eating, but there's also dirt messes, which come from tracking dirt with the Wellies or other shoes. Mops can clean the greasy messes but not the tracked dirt messes. I don't know why that's the case and the mops can only clean one kind of mess, but that's something I've found out (the hard way) from my own solo playthroughs. Great video as always Skoottie and Kenoe!
It looks to me more like there's two kinds of filth, grease from cooking, and dirt from eating. They're different colours and appear beside the cookers and dining tables respectively. It seems that tracking dirt around just grows and spreads these two filth types. It looks like the mops can clean food dirt easily but cannot clean grease.
Wow that was an extraordinary restaurant layout at the end! Makes me wonder if it's possible to make a fully automatic restaurant.
Considering there is an achievement where you don't move from your starting square through a whole day and another where you don't interact with any customer personally, I would say that yes you can. It would just be extremely complicated.
That tray stand would've helped so much with grabbing the dirty dishes from the tables
That coffee table never needed to be a one seater. Ultimately, I think that is what caused the run to fail. As soon as a single guy was spawned, he was going to the table, which meant that guy had priority to sit at the dining tables. So you have someone who isn't in the restaurant (and sometimes not even on screen) getting in over people who have been queueing since lunch. That added a bunch of time. All you can eat didn't help either.

even just one coffee table, the one they already had, just have two seats instead of one by moving it one square.
@@ivantumanov1015 Yeah, I think that mistake is what ultimately broke it. The way the game works it always seats the coffee table people first over the queue outside. And it considers customers on their way to the coffee table as at the coffee table, which meant that customers that were off screen were getting priority to go to the dining table over those who were much closer. This day may have even been possible without a coffee table.
I solo won steaks and what I found helpful was prep stations and coffee tables. Prepare 4 medium steaks on a danger hob and have them ready to go, then throw 1 steak on a safety hob while you do dishes and whatever else, making sure you have at least 1 well done steak always. Then the coffee tables helped with the large waves of customers. I had 2 tables I was serving and 6 coffee tables lol. Oh also double soaking sinks and a power sink helped alot.
Prep the rare steaks, as the last two steps are really fast anyway. The part to rare takes the longest

By making the coffee table a 1-top it prioritized all the 1-tops to seat first so the 2-tops were left waiting while the guy eating by themself in the back of the line got to walk up and get next seating at the coffee table. All your late tables were leftover 2-tops from lunch rush. Unfortunate but decent set up, would've put file cabinet in corner with research to the left and copier below to bring the dish washing off the choke point
Yeah, on the last day, the coffee table should have gone in the top. Get groups of 2 out of the way as well and keep them busy walking to the table.
@@Pystro It was the long walking times that ruined the run. All those solo diners were getting sent to the tables when they were off screen. The long walk times are only useful when your bottleneck is food production not serving.
you can automate the floor buffer. its really nice to have in these situations

One thing I could imagine making it better is a smart grabber taking a cooked burger off the grill, and then another grabber moves it up or down so theirs constantly burgers ready to go and multiple at a time

Not sure if you'll see this Skoottie but if you don't already know after making this. You can't mop up "tracked" grease. So the Weelies actually spread the grease around and that needs to be cleaned up by hand, which I think is stupid and hopefully the devs will look into this
That is kind of silly, but it is also kind of silly to have been using the wellies at that point anyway. They had a lasting mop they could use to keep things clean and prevent them from getting dirty. What they did was slow down one player for the whole day and then eventually spread a bunch of mess so the other guy has to be slow.

I believe different table types don't stack together, do they? Maybe putting a different table between the two at the end would've given you three tables, sure two would be one seaters, but there were also a lot of single customers

It's interesting that every time you call in a group from outside the queue's timer resets. That means you should leave a few seconds between grabbing the dirty dishes. You might even phone up the whole neighborhood, place them in a massive queue and then just be strategic about when you allow them to come in. That is, unless the *speed* of the timer increases when there are more people in the queue.
I'm not sure if it depletes faster over time or not, but in my experience calling it a group only refills about 10 seconds worth of bar. It must have been going faster each day of overtime, then..

@@PystroThe bar depletes faster at night and in rain and the more customers are in line. Just night is like a 40% decrease.
I wonder if you could automate the dining tables themselves and get an ordering terminal to be able to feed your customers without ever interacting with them.
You can! I’ve seen youtube videos of crazy automated setups
You can with conveyors/grabbers/smart grabbers etc. Apparently just having their food adjacent to the dining table on a conveyor will allow them to grab it themselves. There's also the dumb waiters that can teleport food around.
On a larger map size, you can get really crazy with the automation.

I would have kept the automate washer and the hand washer, that way you can always have the option to do it by hand but also know there's a steady flow of plates
Would be awesome to have a research table that can merge upgraded blueprints, like putting a soaking sink with a power sink to make a soaking sink that you can also manually use like the power sink.
A third person out in the dining room and extra tables would have came in clutch during that last run. As long as they could reach the dish rack to put the dirt plates seeing as the washing process was mostly automated.
It took me 5 hours, but I got to OT16 as an automated coffee shop.
Table cloth = customers share food, 1 burger, 2 customers. Grabbers will work on tables to take dirty plates.
The simple table cloth also forces them to sit on opposite sides, which makes it hard to use in a run like this one.
You did not need to get rid of the tables at the end you can just make it sit 0 people just in case y'all decided to go back to 3 or 4 tables, had me screaming lol.
Great vid tho was really looking forward to all mats on the floor. And like others said you can serve with belts. But you will need to get the card that says it takes there orders automatically
I think they would have been much better off if they managed to copy the coffee table 2 or 3 times to line the left wall with them and only serve 2 tables like they were at the end. Sharp cutlery and any upgrade that reduces or removes thinking time also would have helped, and they needed to not get unlucky with the seconds upgrade.

I have absolutely no way to explain this. 2 lights, 2 tables, automatic burger maker, a man just spinning around washing and cleaning dishes, and burgers being served to you without you even having time to think, well, i guess the only option is burgers, a random printer in the kitchen corner, mats all over the kitchen because they’re too lazy to clean, and messes all over the place without the chefs caring, without a door to even exit, having to carry a table just to get out of the resturant. Well, i guess i had a sort of way to explain this if i were a person coming to this resturant.

Aw man. You made a tiny flub that cost you. When you went to 2 tables you had the space to put a 2nd seat at the coffee table.
They had the space to add that second seat from the beginning. For some reason they really wanted it in that corner, but had they switched it with the candelabra it would have had two seats.

should have made more smart grabbers. then you can automate it where it collects dirty plates from the tables to the sink. Good run though. Love the burger automation!

I was begging that at 25:46 you'd do what you were planning to and greatly compress the plate cleaning section which would've put the dish rack in a much better location and eliminated you guys running into eachother

in the top right above the day is a seed. Once you unlock it, there is a flower pot in the hub room where you can enter a seed. This layout is actually the most common layout.
