Recipe
----------------------
Step 1: Pop Tart Crust
Ingredients
* 1 Box of your favorite Pop Tart flavor (we're using Wild Berry!)
* 8 tablespoons butter, melted
* 2 tablespoons white sugar
1) First, line your springform pan with foil. Add all the ingredients to the food processor then press the crumbs down into the springform pan in an even layer. Smooth out and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
Equipment
* Food processor
* 9 inch springform pan
* Foil
* Measuring cup
Step 2: Cheesecake Filling
Ingredients
* 4 Wildberry Pop Tarts
* ⅓ cup fresh strawberries
* ⅓ cup fresh raspberries
* ⅓ fresh blueberries
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 8 oz packs of cream cheese, room temperature
* 2 cups sour cream
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 3 eggs
1) Scrape out centers of 4 poptarts and add to a bowl. Combine the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries together in a medium saucepot over medium-high heat. Add sugar and scraped out poptart centers.
2) Cook down while constantly stirring and banging until a thick jammy texture is achieved, about 20 minutes. Strain out the seeds. Allow to cool.
3) Mix the berry mixture, cream cheese and sour cream together in a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Slowly stream in sugar and vanilla and mix for another 30 seconds. Add in eggs once at a time until fully incorporated.
4) Add cream cheese mix to the springform pan then place that pan inside the larger turkey pan. Add hot water to the turkey pan, reaching up about halfway to the springform.
Bake for 45-50 minutes at 325 degrees.
Equipment
* Stand mixer
* Whisk
* Strainer
* Medium bowl
* Turkey pan
* Tea kettle
Step 3: Decorate, ya Dummy!
Ingredients
* 1 ½ cups Sour cream
* ¼ cup sugar
* ½ tsp “Wild berry” flavoring (or filling?)
* Purple food coloring
* Melted white chocolate
* Blue food coloring
* More Wild Berry Poptarts
* Pop Tart Cheesecake
1) Remove the cheesecake from the water bath. Combine the sour cream, sugar, and wildberry flavoring. Whisk until smooth and the sugar has dissolved into the sour cream. Add food coloring for desired color.
2) Change heat of oven to 450 and pour the sour cream mix over the top. Bake for another 10 minutes then remove and cool.
3) While cooling, combine white chocolate with blue food coloring, fill a small piping bag with it, and then chop up extra pop tarts. Top with finishing blue dashes and top with pop tart bits.
Equipment
* Bowl
* Wisk
* Offset spatula
* Cutting board
* Knife
* Large piping bag (1)
* Small piping bag (1) - Развлечения
I really enjoy how there's this thin line between being PG-13 and rated R, and Josh hovers on that line for an entire video.
As a longtime GMM fan, this is the best way to sum up the show
Just like Beyond Thunderdome!
@@themeshow1011 Come on, can’t we just get beyond Thunderdome?
1:06 "Brown Sugar Cinnamon is the only flavor of Pop-Tart I recognize."
-Josh, from a while ago in an episode I can't quite remember
The hot cheetos pop tarts snack smash
@@mennawalidhassan1365 He's also said it on an episode of GMM before.
I remember too I just realized
SAME
Hi everyone! I just found the episode I mentioned.
It was the "Wet Food Dry vs. Dry Food Wet" episode. Josh said that line during the Mtn Dew/Pop Tart swap.
Josh saying he eats junk all day while being ripped is why I have trust issues.
The key is junk in moderation
@@raya8723 The key is exercise.
Bahahahaha 😂
My father eats trash everyday for lunch yet is 55 and extremely fit. How? He is a carpenter and works of the junk during the day. It's not what you eat it's how and when and what you so after
@@ronweir9463 Can't agree more. If you eat 5000 calories a day, just make sure you are burning off at least 3000 of them.
0:56 I...thought he was kidding:
"The graham cracker was inspired by the preaching of Sylvester Graham who was part of the 19th-century temperance movement. He believed that minimizing pleasure and stimulation of all kinds, coupled with a vegetarian diet anchored by bread made from wheat coarsely ground at home, was how God intended people to live, and that following this natural law would keep people healthy. His preaching was taken up widely in the midst of the 1829-51 cholera pandemic. His followers were called Grahamites and formed one of the first vegetarian movements in America; graham flour, graham crackers, and graham bread were created for them. Graham neither invented nor profited from these products."
Corn Flakes were also made to get people to stop the same sort of thing.
Thanks for looking this up! ☺️
Yup, it was a real thing. Now people slam two pieces of it on one or both vertical ends of a fire cooked chocolate and marshmallow lasagna.
Very interesting
Okay so oatmeal, graham crackers, and corn flakes were all made to kill boners. Noted.
i feel like we're watching josh slowly descend into madness with each video
Slowly?? This barreling into madness at light speed!
Good to know we are all on the same page
He can't descend any farther Josh has already hit rock bottom
Pretty sure he's already there
And yet, I live for his insanity
I love how Jake so supportively and enthusiastically just SWALLOWED that sporkful of cheesecake and said he loved it. the kind of friend we all need 13:19
Mannn I was looking for a comment on this😭😭
I thought I was the only person who noticed him swallow it whole
He’s not wrong about the ocean being soup.
A plastic soup that is
@@annemiek1402 is it?
@@IRVDawg It's not, not it (?)
@@annemiek1402 it is a chowder not soup.
@@annemiek1402 Not it !
I about died laughing when he said "they didn't even put real spiders in it sometimes I put real spiders in my pop tarts to welcome the mythical kitchen" all in one breath!
The scary thing is that I have no idea if he’s joking about that or not...he’s definitely the type to do that
He put real spiders in his cookies so probably not joking
@@abbeyross8014 oh absolutely not joking
Plwy it back at 2x speed and it's even better
its unnerving how much josh has lost his mind yet at the same time is able to explain the sciencey bits. it aspire to exude that energy
"It looks like blue nerds in raw ground beef. I can't believe we haven't done that yet...Maybe next week..."
OMG, I'm not sure what's worse...the fact that you were joking or the fact that you might not be...
Spider-berry came back after the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. They were awesome!
XMen cereal was the besttt
It can't be as good as the tobey Maguire one 🙏
And also for Spider-Man: Far from Home
The fact that Josh calls it his "Food lube pouch" and last time he had mayo in the pouch... Yup that tracks lol
Mayonnaise is just bread lotion, and what is lotion? lube that is socially acceptable to apply outside the house
Josie Ipsen so you're saying I can't put regular lube on my hands in public? No wonder people look at me strange
For April fool's, can we just have Josh doing a stream of consciousness?
"I use spiders in my Pop Tarts sometimes. Welcome to Mythical Kitchen." -Josh
I feel like I'm at the point where almost nothing Josh says surprises me anymore
I miss food fears
Madness is just creative genius that others don't understand. Josh, we love your madness.
I’m going to make this with brown sugar pop tarts and top it with Carmel.
I don’t think I was ready for the hot take that is “the ocean is soup”
Did anyone else not know that "Part of a balanced breakfast" meant to eat other healthy stuff to compensate..
I knew it
No, THAT was said in small print.
It's literally in a picture on the commercials
Lol our parents were supposed to afford more than two things for breakfast?
@@TarableAdult woah you got two things? I was lucky if I got one
I had this idea a few years ago after watching chopped, I've always wanted to make a cheesecake using strawberry poptarts as the crust. Thank you Josh and the rest of the mythical kitchen crew for creating something I've always wanted to see! Loved this episode!
I love Jake 😊 He seems super enthusiastic and supportive of Josh's craziness.
It’s sometimes amazes me when no one in my family gets josh’s humor. Guess I’m the only normal one.
Can we please talk about the way Jake SWALLOWED that cheesecake and didn’t chew it?!?
nothing to chew
That's the best looking cheesecake I've ever seen. Must taste even better, and I'd pay sooooo much for that in a restaurant or coffeehouse! KUDOS JOSH! Can you come up with a pumpkin cheesecake, with some creative sic twist???
Pumpkin cheesecake? I feel like it would be like thicker Pumpkin pie.
@@masonharris9166 Bought one at the store... did NOT taste like cheesecake, and could barely taste the pumpkin. It was terrible and a waste of $9 for a 6 inch round. Josh does so fantastic with flavors, would love to see what he comes up with! 🙂
@@JJ-in3bc bought a pumpkin pie or pumpkin cheesecake?
@@masonharris9166 obviously a pumpkin cheesecake, why else would they have made this post in the first place? context clues my dude.
I made it. It is dankness.
“It’s nice and hard but it’s still wet” -Mythical Chef Josh 2020
after seeing it written, now it all makes sense :0 lol
Result of all that maceration
I need a poster with out of context quotes from Josh.
@@Slopmaster Now THAT'S a GMM merch item that would definitely be a best seller.
I'm just here for the Pitch Perfect references.
That purple icing just immediately made me think of the live action Cat in the Hat movie cupcakes...
Josh: “Two men enter one man leaves.”
Me: I thought we were learning how to make whimsical foods.
Josh (presumably): There will be whimsy and there will be death.
Josh needs to talk to someone. He's slowly losing his mind in plain sight.
Nah, this is normal for ENTPs.
@@FalconOfStorms I came here to ask this. Thank you
@@FalconOfStorms Hes an ENTP? Makes sense though.
@@wolfbeam9169 I just made that up, classic ENTP move.
Actually I am 92.3 percent sure he is but you can't always tell from watching external behavior because Myers-Briggs is cognitive.
Also, Rhett is almost definitely ENFP, which shows through in his wild conspiracy theory tendencies. At least he knows about his wild Ne and can make fun of it,
@@FalconOfStorms I don't disagree with your assessment of Rhett and he definitely uses lots of Ne but I saw him as a thinker. Maybe it's just that tertiary Te.
every time i watch Josh cook, i like him more and more. That Pitch Perfect reference was AMAZING, and i love it and him.
Never thought I'd hear "scoop out from the grundle region" on a cooking show.
I grew up on a pig farm and when Josh asked "you ever go up to a nice taught hog and slap it?" I felt that
Omg you should definitely have Alton on the podcast!
I am for this.
As a basque person, hearing Josh mention "gazta tarta" made me really happy for some reason :)
Josh is the most imperfectly perfect chef. I need more cooking shows like this.
You could dump candy in meat and have an entire episode about inventing your own sweet meats - regardless of the actual definition of sweet meats. I NEED THIS NOW JOSH. I NEEEEEED IT.
Josh needs a new segment called "Will it Palm-heel Strike?"
11:04 Mr Meeseeks kitchenaid!
It's always fun watching Josh macerate.
"Thunderdome Kitchen." Is this a WWE x Mythical Entertainment collab or something?
Edit: I'm now convinced that it is when Josh said Talking Smack.
I think that is one of the best things I ever seen you make!! Awesome
In oceanography we call where the water is hot and salty spicy water. So yeah I’d say it’s a soup
Now lets wait for the other variations of Pop-Tart turned into cheesecakes
I'm so happy for the fact that he mentioned Swedish ostkaka
Underrated Sling Blade reference. How BBT didn't get an Oscar for best actor I'll never know.
The colors of this cheesecake are so pretty.
Careful! Mr. Mcmahon might come after you for using "Thunderdome!" 😂
I never knew I needed this, but here it is. Thanks Josh!
"you just ever slap a nice taut hog" hmm.......
I love how half the time when Josh does something random or crazy he seems just as surprised as we are. It is really inspiring to see him embrace his randomness and be himself. Makes me want to embrace my own weirdness and be my mythical best.
This looks amazing.
Puts on bucket list.
I’ve seen photos of a Mountain Dew cheesecake that is neon green. I would LOVE to see you make that.
Haven't had pop tarts since I was a kid, never would imagine it turning into this cheesecake! Looks so sweet, but so good!
This is one hundred percent my fav youtube channel
Things josh has taught me: Always Scrape out the Grundle Region
Your name is also my favorite moth breed!
Josh is 100% chaotic good and I love every second of it!!!😹😹
Was just looking to watch something with cheese 🧀 THANKYOU MYTHICAL KITCHEN!
This recipe is nice and tasty 👍very well prepared👍👍and great presentation. Will try this out
Josh is a matchmaker for food, if it doesn't exist yet, it sure as hell will
The slingblade reference tho, amazing
This is my first time watching the mythical kitchen, at least that I can remember, and it has such a chaotic energy to it. It's great
I'm actually going to make this one. Looks fantastic!
If you don't have a kitchen aid mixer I recommend the one that tilts up. The bowl is taller and slim. Less splash
Love your shows!!! And your
funny af 🤣
I love that Josh quotes Pitch Perfect.
I hit like for "the ocean is soup"
Read title: Thought it was gonna be Pop tarts filled with cheesecake
Saw results: I'm not disappointed
That sounded kinda good too.
It really frustrates me how underrated this show is. I love Josh and anybody he cooks with for the day.
Is the ocean a soup! I love it! Thats a mind blowing thought
Josh you are one awesome cook
Jake is such a kind soul
Laughed out loud more times than I can count. Josh is exactly what 2020 needs.
Spiderman 2 and Pitch Perfect. A great duo of movies for a balanced breakfast.
jake is so wholesome we luv him
Made strawberry Pop Tart cheesecake (no icing pop tarts). Came out wonderful! Thanks Josh!
I feel like we need more of Jake, less than a minute of him on camera and I already love him!
So happy to know this cheesecake is baked, not just refrigerated.
The slingblade reference was great
That looks really good.
Loved it when he mentioned " quesadilla salvadoreña" it amazes me that he knows about it... the best ever ... proud salvadorean 🇸🇻
I now feel like I can afpt this for nearly anytype of cheese cake, Thanks Mythical Kitchen!
Fun fact: cornflakes cereal was also invented to stop you from self pleasuring or pleasuring with others as well.
Graham crackers as well.
But Dr Kellogg was also a eugenicists.
Josh.. unrelated but the format of french fries v onion raaaaangs was the most fire podcast. You and hendineee keep it up. Big up
This is awesome! Going they all the channels!
if Borderlands had a cooking show it would be hosted by Josh.
I wish they had filmed Joshs original interview for the job
This is the first video I've watched from him, and I thought it was just gonna be another cooking show but I love this guy. He so awkward. I love him 😂
Love this episode
you were on point for this. awesome job, josh. a cheesecake-ified poptart 👍
They are the best pop tart !
So pretty!! Love the colours. Jake is a wonderful personality on camera
This name is James....
12:54 definitely sounds like he said the name is Jake 🤷🏻♀️
Definitely Jerald
I kind of want to try this with s'mores poptarts. Which are the actual best flavor of poptart.
Great idea 😋
The pumpkin pie pop tarts are the best
5:54
PETA wants to know your location.
9:36 Full agree! Great (and underrated) movie.
Oh god, Josh is getting more out of control by the episode. And I love it!
next week on Mythical Kitchen: Nerds Cheeseburgers
He looks great in this video
Josh looks more and more like aerobic instructor in exercise videos from the 80s.
The ocean is a soup!!!!! I’m literally cackling!!!!!!!!
