I found the head and the heart the summer after grade seven, before secondary school. I'll be graduating this summer, and these guys have seen me through my life: my dad dying, travelling, learning how to cook, learning new languages, discovering my love of Shakespeare, protests and rallies of causes I support.... Now here I am slowly packing up my childhood bedroom, my first choice university accepted me, I will be the farthest away from my family, and the city I grew up in, that I have ever been on my own. And these songs, follow me. Every, save for one, of my favourite songs are by theses guys. They gave me a huge appreciation of music. Timeless, classic; I'm sure these will be the songs my kids hear growing up. I'm glad, if there is one thing everybody needs, it some head and heart.
This is beautifully written. And being 23, your timeline blows me away. I think I found them in 2012, but I can't be sure. I heard them on Pandora for sure. But still, it's crazy and amazing to think time has traveled so quickly since then!! I hope your freshmen year of college has treated you well.
I found them on sirius radio, probably spectrum, one of those soft rock stations. (I call all music like that "soft rock"). I've been to see them in concert 3 times since and I still listen to them probably 3 times a week on my way home from work. Their most recent album, its actually pretty damn good. I'm a mobile DJ who is 40 and loves music...they're the best band ever in my mind, and I can't see it changing. I wish Josiah would come back, but we'll see.
Katelyn Brown Thanks! freshman year is going wonderfully. I'm so glad for these guys, whenever I hear of someone finding them the only appropriate thing to say is, congrats! They, and they music they've written, won't let you down. I'm sure in the 4 years you've been listening to them you have had your share of stories, too.
Donny Hunt I think, if I had to choose, my favourite part of this band, and music like them, is all the different people that respond to it. Like, me now, knowing a little something about a DJ I might have otherwise have never known.
Wow, it's just incredible like the music has the power of mark a life forever, i've listenned this band this year for the first time and now i'm in love for it, music is just magic (sorry if i done some grammatical mistake, i'm brazilian and my english isn't so good)

didn't actually know I could love a youtube video as much as I love this one..........
I love this bands sound. I hope I get to see them live some day.
If nothing else, this video shows just how much a producer and sound engineer really add to the songs you listen to on the radio every day.
