Every time a company says "we're family" it means you have to put on the hard work and hard hours but they will still kick you out like a dog for any reason
And I knew that. Just weird to preach it.
I laugh when they say that bs
Facts in any business thats why I don’t be a stooge & pledge my loyalty to a company because im not there guy unless im not at the top.
No one is bulletproof outside of the super talented ones who bring in the money. Everyone else is expendable. That’s just a reality of not just WWE but business and corporations in general.
So true
This is not just true of WWE but it's corporate America and smart employees can see through the "we are family" smoke screen. You're your own corporation folks, do what's best for you and your family. I still can't believe it's expected that employees give two week notice while corporations can lie and lay you off days after telling you that your employment is secure.
I was on the air 12 hours before I got the call. Business is business and it happens to just about everyone who works there, which I always knew.
@@TheWrestlingMattShow Yeah that sucks. None of my business, but prayerfully you got that 30-90 day non-compete pay that goes with being released. That softens the blow a little bit. All the best, and love listening to you.
@@TheWrestlingMattShowthis is life bro not just in WWE but corporate when they try to tell u we family etc... that's what corporations do
Sorry to hear how you were let go I loved tuning in on Wednesdays to see The Bump, thanks for the entertainment working from home. Don’t let the past affect your future im looking forward to more content.
I appreciate it! More content on the way.
One thing I learned is you should never burn bridges. You never know who could help you.
I still talk to people from there all the time
@@TheWrestlingMattShowyeah but to say that the “family” thing is bullshit is super lame. It’s work first, if you truly thought it was “family” then that’s on you. Really liked your work but this was super wack.
@@harbingerofd00mticktock Whats wack is your a random saying, This guy is Wack did you even work there and were you told everyone is family. Well if everyone is family then why would they fire a bunch of people they called family. The wrestling business is cut throat and the boys vs the promoters if your promoting the promotion that's Wack they are a company and they fuck up like any other company's.
@@lyonsautoracingiracing211dawg I don’t care where u wrk at, any other job sees u as a number/help like it or not, it’s a business at the end of the day, NBA does it and the NFL does it, jobs will say anything to hire people jus like if your applying you’ll say anything to get it 🤷🏾♂️ u can never let your guard down no matter what, nothing is promised.
@@harbingerofd00mticktockit’s true though. It’s not just a wwe thing. Businesses do this shit all the time and it’s not accurate.
Man, that “family” talk at the top really hit hard. So true
If anyone gets it, you do
Dolph Ziggler Family, had a bigger resume than AJ Styles and out he goes.
They took the juice out of him, had him make & stars, had him carried wrestlers through matches & off he goes. Likely more talented than The Miz.
So yeah family means crap. Edge left bc he wasn't going to get much money.
A low blow offer. Many are expendable for them. Family is all bullshit.
I absolutely LOVE how straightforward and honest you're being about all this. I've known for a long time that WWE doesn't like to hire actual wrestling fans for backstage roles and that if you show that you're a fan of it in your audition, they won't hire you. Like, you're a whole WRESTLING company and you go out of your way to NOT hire wrestling fans? How?! It's like the whole Adnan Virk situation on Raw that you mentioned a few years ago. It's as if they're disgusted with wrestling fans or something. Like they look down upon them (Even though it's their job to cater to them). I'm so confused 😕
I was an exception to that rule. I’m so intrigued to see what kind of talent is next
Jackie took over for Renee on Aftermath on Sportsnet here in Canada, moved on to the NHL network and ended up basically in the same role Renee had in WWE. Pretty crazy!
Two of the best!
I remember watching this guy on Raw Talk, any company that says we’re a family, I would ignore it and focus on getting the bag until I’m gone. 💯
And I did. I saw enough people come and go to know it was just a business. Weird to call it anything else.
@@TheWrestlingMattShowI got my own family at home and dealing with them is enough, I don’t need anymore other families to deal with. 😂💯
You were always an awesome addition to "The Ultimate Show." We loved seeing you on there.
Thanks so much! Loved that show.
Yeah, I heard you on Busted Open Radio and had to go... wait Matt Camp the WWE guy from the Bump!?! Trying to keep up with coming & goings in professional wrestling is sometimes challenging. Glad to see you've still got skin in the game!
Thanks for listening!
@@TheWrestlingMattShow yes, sir!
Matt, You need to have Kayla Braxton on your show after she leaves WWE on Friday June 28, 2024 to discuss her future plans after leaving WWE.
I’ll send her a telegram
"Need"? How about a request

I really wanted you and Kayla to be the new generation play by play group. I'm glad you got this RUclips channel I love your content please keep this going.
We had so much fun working together
I always enjoyed your enthusiasm , and being a dedicated fan . You’re missed everyday brother !
Ditto. Though I just got here.
Maaaaaaaaaan look, the first Raw Talk I saw without you, I went IMMEDIATELY to all socials for updates. Nothing from you at that time, and nothing from WWE. Now it all makes sense. Wish you were still there but good luck on ALL the projects you've got now plus whatever you've got coming down the pike.
Thanks so much!
Always loved you on the bump! Love your honest perspective, you don't sound bitter you sound authentic and honest.
That’s what I’m going for…thanks!
Always enjoyed your work. Sorry this happened to you and it's ok to be angry about it.
Thank you!
Don't listen to the haters, given the circumstances of how you were let go, you handled it with true class, Matt. I loved watching you and Kayla on WWE The Bump, and as they say in life when one door closes, another one opens.
Thanks!
Just wanted to say thank you for entertaining us so a long time on WWE especially with the ultimate show and endeavours you are very entertaining and I hope that where are now you're in a good space will definitely keep on checking out on RUclips and then you're various other channels bro peace out man
Thanks for sticking with me!
Stay up my boy!
Thank you! I am and will!
Matt! You never looked like a wrestling fan and I mean it as a compliment. Most wrestling fans are geeks, incels and overweight. You actually are one of the few cases in the internet of a grown man that has a great voice and a great look (pause) . You don’t take sides you only talk about the facts and add to it. You have been through a lot and kept fighting without complaining. You are a great representation for wrestling fans and I’d wish it’d grow bigger. I’d wish I can go to a big wrestling arena event and not be embarrassed with the people that surrounds me. Thanks for representing the wrestling community well 💪🏾
Thank you! Exactly what I’m trying to bring to the table.
@@TheWrestlingMattShow and I’m grateful for that. Ik this topic is controversial but I’d love if maybe you could talk about that in one of your segments. “Wrestling fans should do better”. We should carry ourselves better as men. Be respectful to others. Dress as well as possible. Not be obnoxious around others , etc. Change the perception of how a wrestling fan looks like. Thanks Matt!
Thanks for this video bro❤❤ this video is so important tbh
You got it
I’ve always had the view that the whole “family” thing applies to those there while they’re there. But at an HR level, it’s always numbers. Strangely enough, I have a friend who owns his own company and he won’t hire family. Why? Because one day he may have to fire them.
Business always comes first, which I totally understand
A lot of weirdo behaviour especially with placing blame on The Rock. This guy will for sure never be called back in the future.
For sure!
@@TheWrestlingMattShow You're dissing one of the goats and legends of the business because you didn't like his wording despite being kind to you. You can kiss your ass goodbye forever.
Glad you got your side out bro
Thank you!
I learned as a teenager that companies and corporations don't care about you. I personally don't know how, 20 years later, people still fall for the ol' family line.
Even if a couple of people up high do like you, when it comes to business and money, they don't care about you. That's life. That's corporate America.
Yes it is
how was your work life balance in digital? did you only travel to the big events? that part of the job always facinated me since it wasnt a typical 9-5
When Bump did PPV shows from the venue, I went. Otherwise I was on the “home team” for my last year or so there. I did all my work out of Stamford. I liked the schedule.
I was a bit surprised when you got released. You're great at what you do.
Thank you!
I love the Ultimate shows! You did a good job on them
Thanks so much!
Check the followers you have. You arent a big deal buds. Dont burn bridges, you will need them in the future.
This comment changed my life
No reason to be bitter it's a business that's life any company can just do whatever they want with employees sucks but it is what it is on to bigger and better things
Thanks for telling me what emotions to have
The reason i love Matt Camp, you are knowledgeable ..
Thanks!
As someone who has been laid off twice during my adult life, it always amuses me to see quasi-famous people crying about 'why they lost their jobs', like dude, seriously, grow a pair and find another gig.
People asked what happened. I explained. You heard what you wanted to hear.
Jinder said his job was secured after his promo with the rock and was let go shortly after that 😭😭😭
Sadly we were both hindered
Being bitter is an ugly thing, Matt
I know!
@@TheWrestlingMattShowso why are you?
When was the last time we even saw Bryon on SmackDown. It’s been a while since
Recently
Come on Matt. I loved your work in WWE as you have a truly unmatched passion for the business and endless knowledge about it, but you're being a little bitter.
I’m a sweetie!
Just subbed to your channel
Some other 🤡 who cries online about being let go! Let's bash, bash it's cool to do. Yet he forgets he was a nobody before that company hired him
I was a Matt before and after
And? What that gotta do about wrestling... nothing. You cry about being released your like the only one
@TheWrestlingMattShow a little late to the party, but it always amazes me how WWE could get rid of somebody and all traces of them disappear and the audience rarely ever notices. Like they never existed at all. They are very good at sleight-of-hand. I think Dolph Ziggler said it best. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose or if you’re at the top of the card, you have to make yourself invaluable to the company in a way that they can’t deny. And that goes for any corporate environment.
Look at the career he had over so many years, making the money he did. Not many people make it almost 2 decades in that business. Especially if your role is enhancement talent. Even though he was better than 90% of the people he was enhancing.
What I never got is, if a corporation actually treated its employees from the top to the bottom with respect and paid them a little bit more than any other corporate environment… They would have loyal employees for life. Somewhere along the line, loyalty completely took a backseat to greed. Which is horrible. Definitely not the way I would run a business.
I got paid very well to do I job I loved. No complaints about that.
Must suck being released albeit its a business and nobody should fall for 'family' in any work place
I may or may not get hate for this but just my opinion..
I’ve always found you likable among all of your co-hosts on WWE the bump. In this particular video however, you just come off as bitter.. sure, you were fired for doing nothing wrong and your feelings are valid, but it literally happens everyday, everywhere to many people. Just be grateful for the opportunities and people you met there and move on. I’m sure you’ll get equal or even better opportunities and be more appreciated elsewhere. Best of luck to you
Who said I wasn’t grateful? I know it happens every day everywhere, which I made clear. There’s a better way for the company to handle it and I was far from the only one. I just have the ability to speak up.
Wishing nothing but success to you man!
Thanks!
Too bad that “family” couldn’t use their blood money payouts to keep a few extra folks employed.
I’m sorry Matt wwe should never see where a family. You didn’t deserve to be let go
I’m good!
@@TheWrestlingMattShow wwe are just wanting to make money for themselves I used to watch bump with you and Kayla on here RUclips it was good content. The bump was underrated
So when they let you go did they decide to cut the Bump? Haven’t even seen that show in months. Doesn’t air anymore.
It continued for a bit…but your comment is telling
It’s on hiatus until they move to the new HQ
They built new TV studios and they are still working on getting the finishing touches done. The pandemic really put the building of the new WWE headquarters way behind schedule.
IMDB has it as new episode tomorrow….So, they probably don’t know either lol. Cause, it’s usually advertised the day before it airs, on the peacock.
I felt that way before about “ u should never burn bridges” until it swallowed me and consumed me. Sometimes u just got to tell it like it is and say screw the company or who ever . It’s not worth ur dignity. Not saying it’s the case for Matt Camp.
I’m happy to share my story
NOOOOO Matt! I miss the twitch streams man! You were hands down soo chill to hang out with and loved the match breakdowns and the Bump😥I was wondering what happened but at the time soo many employees were getting let go at the time I assumed the worst. Glad I found ya here though!

Because he’s extremely fake. I appreciate honesty or just saying nothing of the sort. Don’t treat people like they are dumb.

That’s Sucked you got Released and for know no reason , they made a big mistake on you .
Ultimately, a company's priority is to make money, no such thing as, "family"🙅🏿♂️. Therefore, everybody should know better than to believe this, and prepare their exit the day they get hired. However, if one has hope to get hired back, one should watch what they say about said company. Unless you're a superstar with whom they know they can make money with, then it's water under the bridge🤷🏿♂️
Thank you for this advice. I will now delete everything off the channel and beg for them to take me back. Hopefully it works. 🤞🏻
@@TheWrestlingMattShow You do you😏👍🏿
WWE is a business, and a business only. Just like any other company. If you help them make money, then you stay. The minute you stop doing that, you're just dead weight to them until you leave and then prove yourself again elsewhere. Simple as that.
Thank you for the lesson!
@@TheWrestlingMattShow Didn't mean it that way, just meant to address the whole "this business is a family" schtick which rubs me the wrong way based off of my own experience. Not here to teach anybody anything, so apologies if it seemed that way.
RELEASED OR DIDNT RENEW?
I wasn’t on a wrestler deal
The Bump Was Fun. They Usually Do At Wrestlemania And Christmas Time. Never Heard Of Summer Cuts.
There’s nothing usual about when they made cuts
I’m so sad that you’re no longer with WWE. It’s very disheartening when you are told that you’re part of the WWE family but yet no one had the decency to let you know why and when you were going to be let go.That’s so unacceptable……I’m just curious if you have given some thought into asking them why this happened or are you just done with it and don’t really need an explanation?
I tried. Nothing. Thank you for the comments.
What's up bro 1 thing is never talk about a company after you been let go... Dont burn your bridges... Your talented spread your wings elsewhere and i know they will give you another shot.. never air dirty laundry its not professional and other companies will take note of this i know its not easy but you will pull though... Use your experiences you had in wwe and be appreciative because lots of people never get the opportunity or exposure
Shit, I better delete this!
I Like WWE But One Thing That I Don't Like Is When Wrestlers Getting Released From WWE But If I Could Become Myself As A Wrestler I Would Not Get Release From WWE If My Contract Is Up I Would Rather Stay In WWE
The pay is good!
And Yesterday Was My Birthday
If they were going to ever bring you back, you may have destroyed that.
Oh noooooo
I hate how WWE continues to call up NXT talent and do nothing with them and then they release them or let them walk because they won't re-sign them. Cameron Grimes and Dijack were great for NXT and always delivered but they never got a chance on the main roster. I really expected more from HHH and don't get me wrong he's doing great but not much has changed from the way WWE has always ran things.
Nice to hear this perspective. You’re correct that things are better, but a lot of bad practices still remain.
do you know why they stopped doing opening pyro
Sometimes it’s the venue, sometimes it’s based on how the show is starting, sometimes it’s budget
I was part of a corporate family until 5/31/24. Then they sent my job to India to start a new family.
Sorry to hear that. I get it.
Enjoyed your work on the show....
Thank you!
I thought you were pretty fantastic at your job. You have the perfect voice for a show host. Sorry that they just kinda dumped you, but like you said, that's how it works at these corporations. It's not family, it's business. Even when you work with your family, you quickly find out that's also a business. 😂
Business is business. Never had an issue with how they move on from people. I get it.

What does that have to do with me?
@@TheWrestlingMattShow It has a lot to do with you because just like everybody else in that era you were a victim of circumstance the company was only doing what they could do with the available superstars for their safety nothing could’ve changed the product and the reality is you’re right a lot of people get turned away because of pure heart they care more about skill than pure heart and to be honest that’s wrong
