I know I need Bachi, Neo, Koma, and strings. Other than that what else is ESSENTIAL, and what is optional? Also, is tsugaru the choice for the neo I should make, or Nagauta. Does the strings being only Tsugaru matter? It's a 1,600$ instrument and I don't want to waste money on materials that aren't essential, or materials that are the wrong choice for this particular shamisen.
wickedninja8599 Ah, actually this would be considered a tsugaru shamisen. The neck is a medium thickness, but the body is the standard size for tsugaru style. Ah yes, I should make that more clear! For now, the required items are: Neo (tsugaru), Ito Set, Bachi (your choice of one) Koma (your choice of one, either is fine) and Yubikake. I would highly recommend the Fujaku as well. :-) Feel free to contact me on Bachido as well. It might be easier for further discussion. :)

It is meant to be played both tsugaru style and minyo style.
