Went through many hurricanes, Charlie being the last. Never have I seen a storm cause so much damage in my lifetime. Praying for each and every one that was affected by this storm.

Reminds me of Hurricane Michael here in Panama City FL. I expect NHC will upgrade this storm to a category 5 later on in the coming months, just like they did with Michael.
I know you have been in many dangerous storms and situations, but this must have been one of the most harrowing. So glad you made it. So very sad to see how much devastation there is.
The footage you got of Ian when it made land fall was amazing. Sad that dominator 4 got taken out of the chase so early 😢. Glad to see you are doing well after the hurricane
Thanks for your post and glad you and others survived. Scenes from and around your car were really incredible to see the sand in your glove box and the way the body got pummeled. I had wondered about the wildlife. Nice of you to take care of this beautiful feathered friend. I'm also kind of curious what sort of debris now that the manatees and marine life have to navigate. From a Texas perspective Ian was certainly the storm of the century! Recovery will be slow, but community makes it happen. May you be blessed with cooler temperatures.
Oh my gosh my heart is broken for all of Florida/SC. My heart was also with you as you were saying "goodbye old friend" as I can relate (ish)--when someone ran a red light & totaled my vehicle (I was just so glad myself & my two children were ok) I later went to get my things I gave a thanks for keeping us safe & the memories. I grew up in Fort Myers but moved away recently. We visit the mango farm on pine island every year. Now I’m not even sure if any of the trees or buildings survived. The destruction is gut wrenching.

So sorry about your truck Reed….it served you& humanity well. Glad you are safe. Thanks for all you do in helping people become more aware of the weather coming upon them.
I hope you have gotten home safely now. That was one of the worst storms in history and you were right there to intercept it & document it & the stories and memories will be with you forever. All the stuff can be replaced. ❤
Thanks, Reed. Glad you're OK. Just like Ft. Myers Beach, Sannibel and Captiva, I've spent a lot of time vacationing on Pine Island and was wondering how bad it was. If St. James City was hit as badly as you said, I imagine we can all say goodbye to The Waterfront restaurant. Many memories of that place.

To all the people I know on Pine Island, may God be with you. I feel so much comfort knowing you are there, helping and showing us what is going on. I hope you stay for a bit.
Thank you for making this video. It is heartbreaking to see how catastrophic Hurricane Ian has been. I lived in the area for almost 15 years and loved Sanibel (the island with a "cover charge,' i.e., the causeway toll), Matlacha, Pine Island, Cape Coral, Ft. Myers Beach and Ft. Myers, Cabbage Key, Captiva (home of the Bubble Room), Upper Captiva, etc., for the wonderful residents and absolutely beautiful beaches and lush tropical landscape. There was a restaurant on Pine Island that offered the best smoked mullet spread and I remember fishing off Pine Island among the mangroves. I worked in an office on Sanibel near the lighthouse in 1982, making the commute every day from North Fort Myers. I worked with some terrific attorneys in Cape Coral and Ft. Myers and have fond memories of the old courthouse and the Lee County Justice Center. I know my friends and former colleagues and their families likely have been adversely affected by this hurricane and I feel their pain and heartache. I pray this will be the last hurricane or tropical storm of the season for them so they can recuperate and rebuild.
Sorry to see Dom Fore in that shape. That car earned its keep. Really grateful you guys are safe and healthy and were able to help. Heart wrenching for those impacted.

We don't know when or where the next disaster will happen... BUT We do know you and the team will be there...
FYI..
In 2022 we've had a very high level of activity on THE NEW MADRID FAULT... Which I live on and had the worse one since 1974 close to my home ..
A small correction..
This started with a 4 0 on November 18th (as far as heavy local activity, though most are too small to actually be felt... The 4.0 I could hear coming as I laid on my sofa then a long rolling with a final hard jolt that felt like it bounced my house and almost knocked me off the sofa... As far as a really severe one again... It's not a matter of if BUT rather When...
Additionally, I believe we will have an early and extreme winter..
I believe we had more 100+ days this year than total since we moved here from Kentucky in 1974..
Please stay safe and doing what you do while encouraging and helping teach others in addition to all the scientific work you're able to accomplish that will help countless others in the future...

Congratulations on catching the eye! RIP Don 4, excited to see Dom 5. All your footage reminds me of when I returned home after Hurricane Ike in TX. I lived in Seabrook at the time & it was just devastating. It took a really long time to recover from the shock. My prayers go out to you, your camera guy and all the Floridians who are affected by Ian.
God,I was in this storm and it was brutal, the flooding was the worst party since the water in the ground causes more damage over time.
So glad that you are safe and sound. So many of us were worried about you!🤗🤗
Reed glad to see you and Chris are safe, hope everyone there gets the help and rescue as soon as possible, love, thoughts and prayers to all
OMG, what destruction. I am glad to see you are ok, Reed. The rest, including poor Dominator 4, is bringing me to tears. Love and prayers to all. Stay safe and please keep us in the loop.
😢yes me too. To tears. Prayers for all affected. Praying for a fast recovery, but by the looks of it .. it seems it will take year🙏❣️🙏
Rest easy Dom 4.
Glad you're safe Reed. God bless you brother.
whose Dom 4?
@@matthewwilson5019 Dominator 4 the chase vehicle. Succumbed to storm surge.
@@matthewwilson5019 although I think he spells it as fore and not the number 4
@@matthewwilson5019 Reed's storm chasing ride, was in the storm surge. Whilst poor Reed could only watch whilst sheltering in the house
@@zed4225 ah ok i see thanks:) and lol i was confused and thats why i asked
Omg, poor Dom Fore 😢 Made me emotional when you said “Good bye old friend”. So many memories in that vehicle. Glad you are ok!
I know right?!! It's like beyond totalled!! 😲
Wow Reed. Very happy you're ok. Your coverage and warnings help so many. Stay safe young man!
Just mind blowing! I know you’ve had some epic adventures but this time your blessed to of made it. Imagine if you were still riding around in that car during the surge… I think someone was watching over you! Thanks for the footage and hope everyone stays strong there and they will get thru it.
Lol grammar police
@@amandaandbug4914 lol yeah because that's what everyone is concerned about 🙄
@@amandaandbug4914 lol I sometimes find myself at the Helm of the exact same crime, however; I look at my mistakes with a laugh at myself.
There are however, "exceptions to some rules" here as it is evident that JL is not a new subscriber (OG) and tries to type at the speed as his trail of thought .
Before I make a book on this let us be Grateful both are safe.
We had flooding in Key West + Not the worst I have been through and am grateful to all

If you watched Reed’s vids on Wednesday, you’d have seen him getting out of Dominator Fore & evacuating to his hotel (in what seemed to be in the nick of time)! 😬 🌀 💨 🌊
Epic Adventures INDEED! Every week our eyes were hyper-focused on the dedicated tornado chasers on the Discovery channel's "Storm Chasers" Extreme meteorologist Reed Timmer and his tornado intercept and data collecting vehicle "The Dominator" | We sorely miss that TV series!
Thank goodness u have Gas!! And ur alive. This one was too close. But your information is a wonderful testimony to why evacuating is so important!! And data taken will be part of weather history.🙏✝️🕊Praying for everyone!!
Holy wow... thank you for uploading videos past few days. My family in Cape Coral is still in shock. Absolutely unprecedented mass devastation.
Dr Reed your work has no words to describe Excellent .
It's nice you have a peaceful time now. That was a stressful storm! Thank goodness you are ok! Poor Dominator!
Are you kidding me it's still chaos all over swfl, have you ever been thru a hurricane?
@@NoName-rm1nv I think Marie was referring to the hurricane having passed. I’m sure no one in FL feels peaceful. More likely they feel relief & thankfulness that their lives were spared.
@@NoName-rm1nv a cat 2 hurricane which was nothing compared to this storm. And right what I mean is the storm has passed so it's calm. Yes devastated and heart broken by the life lost.
Absolutely heartbreaking footage. RIP Dominator. I hope Chris' house wasn't heavily damaged. I am glad you and Chris were not injured! 🙏🙏
Born and raised in Bokeelia, moved to Fort Myers Beach at 17-39. It is soul crushing to see my islands destroyed and seeing my friends and family lose everything. Went through many hurricanes, Charlie being the last. Never have I seen a storm cause so much damage in my lifetime. Praying for each and every one that was affected by this storm.
Thanks for posting such great footage! My heart goes out to all who have lost their homes and/or loved ones to that bastard, Ian. ❤
I saw the live video when you had to leave the Dominator. It was far away from where it ended up! I have to admit I was really worried for you and prayed for your safety. Thanks for the update!
I was thinking of you Reed, a lot of us were, right when we knew it was bad; we were hoping you were safe and ok. It's always sad to see destruction in peoples lives but having your life to rebuild is something to be thankful for.
Reminds me of Hurricane Michael here in Panama City FL. I expect NHC will upgrade this storm to a category 5 later on in the coming months, just like they did with Michael.
It's what I'm expecting too
I know you have been in many dangerous storms and situations, but this must have been one of the most harrowing. So glad you made it. So very sad to see how much devastation there is.
Good Morning Dr.Reed ☕️
Thank you for your amazing work in covering the entire process of Hurricane Ian and the steps for the recovery .🙏 ❤️ ⚘️
The footage you got of Ian when it made land fall was amazing. Sad that dominator 4 got taken out of the chase so early 😢. Glad to see you are doing well after the hurricane
Love and prayers to all those in the path of Ian. Thank you Reed for being there and glad your safe . Love from Pennsylvania
Nice job, thanks for the coverage. Keep it up.
That was a nasty storm! You got some amazing footage of the eye wall and the eye.
Hi Reed!!! Thanks for helping the little bird!!!!!
Glad you all are safe and love the great job you did filming this crazy stuff buddy!!!
I know some people change vehicles like clothes but I have mine for several years & they're part of the family! Love, hugs & God Bless you & all of Florida/SC, from Indiana. 💕💕
So heartbreaking. Prayers to Florida. Thanks for all you do Reed.
I grew up in Fort Myers but moved away recently. We visit the mango farm on pine island every year. Now I’m not even sure if any of the trees or buildings survived. The destruction is gut wrenching.
Thanks, sir, for your journalism.
Crazy footage! Prayers to those who are affected by Ian and death toll is rising very sad. This was a strong hurricane it was almost like the brother of Hurricane Charlie.
Thank you Reed
So sorry about your truck Reed….it served you& humanity well. Glad you are safe. Thanks for all you do in helping people become more aware of the weather coming upon them.
Doctor Timmer thanks for your reports and most of all your participation in rescue and relief efforts. Jesus bless you and protect you.
Thanks for the video Doc. Glad you're safe.
Ian, absolutely dominated Pine Island. The utter devastation is mind blowing. Glad you’re ok! I’m sure it was a hell of a ride!!
Good to see you are well and able to lend some help. Such a destructive storm and it's sad to see what happened. Praying for all of you , specially the victims and their families. 🙏🌷
My darling Father in Heaven, please help all the poor people affected by the hurricane. Please fill them with Your strength and Your hope. Please fill them with Your wisdom and understanding. Please fill their hearts with Your love. Please bless them in this terrible trial in their lives and make their recovery successful. Please prosper them. Please surround them with people who care and who love them. Please fill us all who read this prayer with Your Awesome love. In Jesus’ most holy name we pray, Amen and Amen. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
@Reed Timmer, WOW the destructive power of Ian, those poor Floridians and 🙏 for lost loved ones 🌀
Dear God, please grant respite to those affected by this terrible hurricane. Praying for you, hope those affected get timely help.
I just moved off pine Island 3 months ago. I was living off harbor in bokeelia.
Crazy to see.
Thank you for putting this up.
Wow! Reid! That's right! You had to have gotten stuck on Pine Island! You were there filming the whole thing and I have watched those videos. How in the world are you getting a signal out! Join me, I pray for the most benevolent outcome for every single person and animal involved in this horrible mother nature event❤️🌈
Sending love from michigan.
Thanks for posting the video
Reed so glad your safe & helping others...I was on your Live when the craziness happened that was wild...💥💥
So sad 😢😭 here in virginia winds blew trees an birds too.. several took refuge up against my patio door hiding behind potted plants..so sorry about the dominator.. glad you're ok.
Thank you for this. The saddest thing for me is the completely denuded trees. I hope SJC didn't see loss of life. It looks like surge didn't go to roof line, thank God.
Thanks for sharing & caring & helping that poor woman. And bird 🐦🫶🏼
Sorry to see Dom Fore in that shape. That car earned its keep. Really grateful you guys are safe and healthy and were able to help. Heart wrenching for those impacted.
Hello 👋how’re you doing?
Glad your ok Reed
I can’t watch these videos without crying. The impact to the wildlife plants and human life. God bless you all.
So happy to see that you were on Pine Island, not a lot of other coverage from there. My brother took the direct hit on Pine Island, his house has no damage, what a miracle!! … But he said the noise was terrifying, at the time didn’t know if he was going to make it or not! I can’t even bear to look at the photos I took of the radar with his island in the middle of the eye. Longest 24 hours I have spent, waiting for the call to say he was OK. Prayers for everyone that went through Ian 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg. When I saw the dominator, my heart sank. Thank God you’re okay! ❤️🩹
If I ever see Reed Timmer in my area I'm running away quick AF! The Dominator was dominated...
thx for update, that is absolutely insane! hope everybody stays strong
We love Pine Island! This is heartbreaking. The people there are so friendly and welcoming. Our prayers are with all of SW Florida!
I can’t believe they’re still some standing mobile homes. 😮 That’s shocking!
Absolutely catastrophic storm. We won’t know the full scope of the aftermath for a few months.
WOW - thank you for sharing. May God richly bless you in your recovery.
Damn, of all storms. Didn’t think it would be this one… glad you’re alright mate! Much love to ya from Texas 🤙🏽
