A Fun DIY Gadget - For Scouts to Wash Their Hands at Camp

This is a fun patrol camp gadget, a hand washing station. The Scouts learn how to lash a tripod, and can earn requirement First Class 3d, by building a camp gadget. You will need 3 long poles for lashing, rope, a bar of soap, a pair of pantyhose that is cut, or one knee-high stocking, 1-gallon milk jug, and a golf tee. The Scouts can use their taut-line hitch and their square knot to tie the 1-gallon jug to the tripod. Once you fill the jug with water you will push the golf tee into the jug and you will use the bar of soap that has been dropped into the stocking. These two in combination will help the Scouts to stay "clean."
