I have had similar thinking about this subject. If blockchain of the people is destroyed, there will still be jobs working with partially-centralized slave-blockchain. However, it might be more harmful than good for society, so working with such software might be similar to a mercenary job, and it's 180 degrees different from the values that attracted me to crypto.

Permissioned blockchains and CBDCs move power from human led governments to centralized AIs (regardless of whether governments and centralized entities want to admit as much or not) which begs the question of if that actually "saves" crypto for human actors over the long term.
