"Computer. Raise shields and ready all weapons". That's the first thing I would say when I wake up.
computer can you top off the warthogs headlight fluid?
"Saurian brandy."
"Coffee, black."
"Raktajino."
"Tea. Earl grey, hot."
- The many ways I would turn on the coffee maker / kettle.
"computer prepare to make the jump to light speed" That would be mine lol
That would probably prepare the bunker he's got out back.
Computer get me an irn bru and start up my PS4
Remember when this was all about a couple of guys bored and making a Machinima that they thought would last like a week?
Madrock ever wonder why we’re here
I think about this alot. Its crazy to see this company snowball from a halo machinima. It makes me happy to see this all happen through out the years!
*machinima with a lower case m
They're really a stickler about that
@@HaydenLau. Yeah, what is it with that? Are they going to stick with that, even if it's the first word in a sentence?
"Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen!"
Anyone here after burnies announcement of leaving Austin? Because it made this video soooo much more emotional.
Yeah
Yeah. Burnie is gone. This is so sad.
And such begin a new century of entertainment, he was the last and unless he carries on creating , a new victor will be crowned for his masterpiece
It's not what it used to be, that's for sure. We're looking big changes in the face.
I come back to this video every once in awhile after I go back and binge all the old podcasts. Burnie is a really special person. I've never met him, but he's had a ridiculously large impact on my life, the way I act, the way I talk, the way I treat people. I've always thought Burnie was such an awesome person in my youth that I never really realized I modeled alot of my personality after him. I know he's not apart of RT anymore, and that sucks. But at the same time, it makes me really happy thinking somewhere in the world he's happy with his family and enjoying life. I know you're probably not vain enough to come back and watch this video, but if you see this Burnie, I hope you and the family are doing well. Thanks for everything you've done for me, and everyone.
Absolutely, well said
Agreed, a great role model for going for it
Could not agree with this more
He's back baby, writing red vs blue to finally settle the score.
just a standout guy, burnie
I knew in my head we had all this technology, but seeing Burnie wake up his house and everything made me realize we literally live in the Jetson’s future. That’s so crazy how far we’ve come.
When I was a kid, I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey (featuring the Blue Danube song used here) and was amazed at how they showed all this incredible technology but people were just interacting with it, like normal modern conveniences. I always dreamed of being able to do stuff like that when I grew up.
So, when I set out to make this video, I wanted to convey that feeling but with existing modern day technology. We really do live in an incredible time. You just have to stop and appreciate it.
Which tech do you use in your house to automate it best? I personally have Google home & a few Hue bulbs set up and some wireless switches that are I/O so things that are not smart compatible can turn on and off as well. Reason I ask is because you only said "computer", really curious which AI has that prompt because it's way better than "Hey Google"
I would name mine Hal. Tempt fate just a little
You can change settings on an Alexa to respond to "Computer". I do not like HUE bulbs. They cost $40-70 a pop. I can install one Lutron Caseta switch and automate an entire room for the same price. And they work way better IMO. They don't change the light's colors, but I never use that anyway.
Ah, I thought it might be Alexa. I picked up the Hue bulbs mainly for the color change feature in the Family room. It's a fun immersive feature for game nights or even movie watching to be honest if you can get the app to actually watch the screen and work lol. I'll take a look into the Lutron Caseta switch, I was thinking of doing smart switches for rooms like the kitchen or bathroom where I don't need to change colors but the Caseta has some nice features from a glance. Thanks :)
I'm having an indescribable sense of loss
This is the second vlog I've watched and me too.
Coming back to this after it was announced RT is shutting down. Hits so differently now.
Now knowing what we know. This is where Rooster Teeth ended.. All those people in the bar showed such charm and character. Really instilled a sense of family. I no longer had this feeling towards the end of RT but like everything in life. We grow, mature and move on to the next chapter. Congrats on the 21 years Rooster Teeth. You were one in a million.
Burnie straight up living in a Black Mirror house
BigMacMagraw I mean really though. 😂
that was my exact thought omg
333 like
That was my first impression too
With that level of comfort I wouldn't care
Ugh of course the last vlog is the the best one 😭
This made me miss Burnie and Ellie so much more. Burnie made kind of a soft exit but knowing that he doesnt live in Austin anymore makes it feel like the true end of an era.
"Mush, mush, mush."
"You mushin' me?"
"Lil' bit."
This is the content I signed up for.
So Burnie lives like Tony Stark.
Well you never see Tony Stark and Burnie Burns in the same room...
He earned it
I didn’t know Ellie was such a good singer!
Check out the stuff she's posted on Twitter. She's great!
Wherever Burnie is these days, I hope he’s happy. He gave us so many years of entertainment and happiness by letting us get even a glimpse of his life. Him leaving was sad, but he definitely deserves his retirement.
I believe he lives in Scotland on a farm with his family! I think
the intro of the vlog looks like the beginning of a black mirror episode
From nerdy halo fan to giving Bruce Wayne a run for his money.
Burnie is an inspiration.
AeroDbladE everytime I watch a Burnie video, I hear church lol
Not sure if Burnie Vlog or the intro to a documentary about a serial killer?
Why aren't you verified wtf
because it's not the real account?
Marcus Wikberg click on it tho
Redirects to the real cowchop. a lot of people to this.
Nah dude. Cow Chop isnt even verified cause theyre a bunch of silly boys.
Legit tho real cow chop isnt verified
Came here after reading he is officially leaving today and I’m a mess of tears but I’m so happy for him. Burnie I will never be able to thank you enough for the impact you’ve had on my life
burnie's gone. he backed out. and youtube recommended me this. _deepest inhale_ .
He’s not gone. He’s just not here right now...
Za Worldo hes going overseas and won’t be a part of RT any more.
He’s going overseas but RT productions are going to be doing things with him still. I think for RT Firsts
@@zaworldo2776 I interpreted that bit as RT gets to have a first look at any projects, rather than 'RT First'.
Tasanoki Ranoko oh. You know what that makes sense. I’m sadder now. I hope that he still comes back every once in awhile tho.
All the beginning affirms to me is that Burnie lives in 2038 not 2018. And I love it.
This is like a fricking movie, not even a vlog
Enderbro17 4 that was the point. It was the final vlog. To show what he does. I enjoyed it. He even said in a previous vlog that the last one would be something different and special
Honestly he got better shots than a lot movies recently
Do yourself a favor and check out Sugar Pine 7 if you haven't already. They're with Rooster Teeth, and my god, they're so good.
The antivlog
Burnie did more then his fair share for this company. Glad he moved on and I hope he is living his best life.
Hold the phone, can we just stop and talk about Ellie's singing? It was fantastic! How did I not know about this sooner?
I lover her cover on The Show
Ikr, I think i have heard her cover "I see fire" by Ed Sheeren
Right? Crazy.
She is in a band called Wild Disguise
One of the coolest part of this vlog series has been the introduction of Ellie. I think she's a wonderful addiction to the RT family.
Addiction is correct.
Lol.
Arkatox Damn autocorrect lol
I feel if she was a girl in my life I'd fall for her so hard. She's just perfect. Every video I watch I realize I like her personality more and more. There are not very many people in the world like that :)
Met her at RTX Austin 2018, shes the nicest person ever
Ellie singing almost made me cry
I honestly have a tear still in my eye and the video ended like 5 minutes ago haha
Just "almost"? Boy, I am drying my face.
SAME.
Heartless if "almost"
Ender Wiggin only almost because I was in the break room at work so I held back
This vlog was very inspiring when you remember where Burnie and Rooster Teeth started and just seeing how far the company has come since then.
I'm going to miss the Burnie Vlogs but this was a great vlog to end it all!
Also 10:20 just another reason to love Ellie!
This made me much more sad than it should have
If Ellie made an album, id buy it.
facts
same
Ellie has a twitter, @Elliemainey , and she has the song on Sound Cloud, which you can find via her twitter.
Except she doesn't
She has 3 songs on soundcloud: Yesterday was hard on all of us, Kathys song and Youth
The Show (the song she played in the vlog) isn't there (yet?)
But still her soundcloud profile's definitely worth checking it out
SHE HAS A RUclips CHANNEL (only 3 songs so far) GO SUBSCRIBE QUICK
ITS: Ellie main) profile is her
Absolutely wonderful ending. Using Ellie’s singing in the background worked perfectly. Looking forward to whatever’s next
i want ellie to release it as a single or get her to make a couple songs atleast
Rasputin, crusher of hive I belive she posted on Twitter she recorded an album to be released soon.
william thibeau what song was she singing?
Max Mihalik I think it's The Show by Lenka.
Same
Aw damn, Ellie's singing made me tear up a bit! A very emotional but well put together end of an era.
As RoosterTeeth comes to an end, this is what I will come back to to remember what RT was at its best. When it felt like family
Ellis has such a beautiful voice.
He is my favorite character in day 5
huh?
Kye Beatty lol
This made me sad for some reason.
Caleb Shelton Because it's the end of an era
It's a happy kind of sad though. Right? At least that's how I feel.
Definitely a melancholic feeling to this. Still, I'm hopeful for whatever is to come in the future like Ellie's show and Burnie's new project he was writing here.
I’m actually tearing up, this was kinda beautiful.
same here!!
Ellie's singing legit made me want to cry
I watched the very first Burnie Vlog and didn’t have the opportunity to sit down and watch them but I watched this one when it said it was the last
Vlog’s Last Day: Burnie flexing on us
Telling a story through film making like a boss!
Dude, this was an amazing vlog
Was really good, added it to my favorites.
How to make me envy a man with the fire of a thousand suns in 1:45 seconds
This is so beautiful to watch, it’s hard to pinpoint why but it’s so real and conveyed so creatively. Ellie’s singing as well over the last few minutes really just made it as well, so incredible.
It's not real though, a good proportion of those shots are likely staged. Doesn't mean it wasn't creative or shot beautifully, just that it is not a 'good' representation of his average or even irregular day.
Gleebroyable maybe real was the wrong word to use, i just liked the way it was snippets of conversations with no necessary beginning or end. Idk there was something about it that felt more natural then when it’s explicitly set up to tell something :-)
Rooster Teeth looks like such an amazing company to work for. What a dream
Jules C Random Did You KNOW: When u Google Ashley Jenkins they have the 1st image wrong.😅 Pretty sure that ain't her. I wonder if they're aware of it. 🤔
Spirited Aloena probably because google doesn’t handpick them, it’s an auto generated image selection.
Looks can be deceiving
@@twinkieman237 in light of recent events, yes.... Quite a lot happened
Lmao
Damn, Ellie. More of that, please.
wow never realized that Ellie had such an amazing voice
just when you think Ellie couldn't get more attractive. BAM!
This burnie vlog is hands down one of my favorite RT productions ever
It’s almost 2022, I still miss you Church…. God I hope you’re happy and safe.
I'm going to miss the vlogs:)
same
I still do
Anyone else want a channel just for Ellie to post her singing too... What a beautiful voice :D
She does have her own soundcloud soundcloud.com/ellie-main/
Cheers mate didn't know about that will check it out :D
This just goes to show what hard work and strong dedication to your business can look like 16 years after you start it.
I've actually strayed away from watching newer Rooster Teeth content. The newer stuff has always felt inferior to their older work, lacking the passion and love that made most of their content stand out from everyone else. They enjoyed what they did, and you could clearly see it in every joke in the Let's Plays, every witicism in the Shorts, and every line and frame of Red vs Blue. The Burnie vlogs were also something I tuned in and out of. I didn't watch all of them, and sometimes I didn't even finish the one I was watching. But this one captivated me. It's probably the best video they've produced in five years, maybe longer. Burnie's vlogs were always better than most everyone's because they always had a story or rather, a goal he was pursuing, and it made them infinitely more interesting (yes, aside from the fact they always had higher production values than the other vlogers). He subverted what a tradition "vlog" is by making actual video logs of what he was doing, and even if I wasn't interested, I still recognised that they were good. I mean, you can even compare them to the RT Life's, which are basically vlogs, and you can see how superior his are. But this last one is different. Instead of it being a specific log or event in his day, it is his day. It's a chronicle of what it's like to be Burnie Burns, and not only is it done with a atypical style, but it has Burnie's deft hand. Burnie is a gifted filmmaker when he's trying. Red vs Blue is a clear monument to this, and here, that gift really shines. Every frame is immaculately shot; every image blocked or framed in a unique way by someone with a specific voice and vision. It's perfectly balanced in light, color, and sound, and with slip ups at the right moment (like the guys playing billards or the exposure readjusting) to remind us that it is a chronicle of life and not a movie. What Burnie has crafted here is the epitome of what a vlog should be. He pushes boundaries in a way only he could, and with an ambition and an attention to detail that only he seems to have. It's not just us following someone through their day, it's us experiencing it with them. It's an emotional experience that is both aware of its significance (being the last Burnie vlog) and understands how to communicate those emotions to us. It's a not just a vlog; it's a work of art.
Thank you Burnie.
You're one in a million.
Cole Vacheron you worked on this post for so long and currently only have 5 likes XD
I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it is very good. Immaculate wouldn't be the word I'd use
Why doesn’t this comment have more likes?
Well said, this is exactly how I feel. I enjoy going back and review some of his vlogs even four years later. Always timeless.
Watching you cram so much into your day and you loving every minute of it makes me so inspired. Your productivity level is my goal - fellow writer / filmmaker.
TheRainydayvideo just makes me both hate myself and tires me out.
Same here. On the other hand, he is older than me, so maybe it just takes a substantial amount of time to figure it all out.
NochSoEinKaddiFan Yeah this is totally true.
Random Did You KNOW: When u Google Ashley Jenkins they have the 1st image wrong.😅 Pretty sure that ain't her. I wonder if they're aware of it. 🤔
I was not ready for any of that. That was really good.
Back for one last time. Your not gone. Your just not here right now. Goodbye RT it was great.
Giving these another run after the news about RT. You were an inspiration Burnie, and while I do feel for the current staff, I hope you, Ashley Gus, Geoff, Gavin, Jack, Michael, Barbara, and whoever else I've forgotten from the OG cast are doing OK and we see you all again down the track. ❤
Some parts of this video felt more like a final goodbye to Rooster Teeth. Thankfully, it wasn’t.
I agree, this vlog had sadness to it, like a goodbye, whether that was to roosterteeth, or if burnie was dying. Obviously I dont think either of those are right, but there was a lot of "this is my life, I enjoyed it, but things are changing", tone to it, a lot more than just a vlog coming to an end.
now it should
You have a great life Burnie and you deserve it.
The inspiration I get from watching this vlog is unmeasurable. Thank you
I don't think I've watched any of the vlog but I sure am glad I watched the finale. Man this was expertly shot. If every scene had been symmetrical I'd say this was directed by Wes Anderson. Very well done. Will watch again.
That family gaming setup is awesome, I'm defiently doing that in the future
He’s living the dream
yeah.
Honestly
This is probably my favorite video of RT ever. It's so simple but it's got heart, hope and warmth.
I was expecting Burnie’s home system to be called “FILSS”.
You can't change the trigger phrase to whatever you like
First month of 2018 and so much has already been shutdown and ended. F
You are everywhere, aren't you?
itsYaBoy not everywhere enough tbh
What else is being shut down
Ryan Tiedke the government
Na, Dems caved and are agreeing to deal to restart it.
Now if only this quality was the standard for vloggers. R.I.P. Burnie vlogs.
Thanks for the birthday gift, Burnie. You have always been an idol, and I'm glad to see you complete another project.
I’m watching this again 6 years later and that opening montage of burnie’s house, still feels like I’m looking at the future 😂😂
Wow Burnie. This is incredibly motivating. As a 26 year old software developer in a very good position I can't but compare to what you've said before. You had a great career before RT, yet you moved on to something that lead to this. It shows me that I'm not too late to come up with something big. That I'm not necessarily going to be in the same industry forever. That I don't have to try and shine in one spot forever. Thanks.
Feel the exact same way. Late last year I stepped out of a management position and started my own company. Rooster teeth inspire me every day as I watch my business slowly grow. I don't know if they'll ever get how much inspiration they give to their community.
Good concept, well-executed.
...Really wanna know who was holding the camera in a bunch of these shots, though.
Tripods, Drone, and Ellie. At least those are the most likely answer.
I've never cried at an RT production. This was beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
This vlog was so freken beautiful and touching and I have no idea why. Plus, Ellie's singing just adds to everything. Will miss this series dearly.
Why in the world is this giving me all the feels?!? And Ellie never ceases to amaze me. That song was deep and powerful
Did anyone else start tearing up a little as soon as Ellie started singing for reasons you dont know, or just me?
do770 SAME. I came to the comments for this reason. Im not even an emotional person...
I wish I could feel emotion like that again.
Yup. I don't think I've felt this happy-sad at a youtube video before. It was nice.
You are not alone! I was like nooo! When i didnt think she could be any more of an awesome person she started to sing! Then letting her finish out the vlog was amazing. I will seriously miss these!
Just you
This might be the best content I’ve watched on this channel, and I’ve been watching for many years.
Burnie, ashley ellie matt marcus everyone at roosterteeth you are all so lucky to live the lives you do and im so happy you choose to share your personal lives with us faceless people on a platform no one understands so thank you guys we love you
Is it possible not to like Ellie?
beatle11 I'm personally not a huge fan
Well Gavin didn't like her lol
I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything but who is she? I haven't watched in a while and all of a sudden she was in a bunch of rt stuff like on the spot, vlogs, etc. I feel like I lost a very important news lol
chocobeetleful she was burns assistant shes getting her own show now
She's Burnie's personal assistant.
I'm not crying, YOU'RE CRYING
Cameron Stewart I'm not crying, it's just that damn onion making my eyes water.
You are right Cameron Stewart I am crying.
Cameron Stewart I’m crying your crying we’re all crying
Also we have the same last name
Thank you for everything you did burnie! Enjoy your new life overseas!
Wow. That was an amazing video. Firstly, it is great to see a Burnie day from start to finish but the style is what really stood out for me. I love the editing and the almost plot like story. The music from Ellie was inspired and the final line from Burnie really nailed how emotional the year of vlogs has been. It's not the destination but the journey. I just wish the road was longer.
I wish this vlog existed when we had to make those "High School Rolemodel" essays. Not just Burnie, but so many others of that company poor in effort and hours and free time to create a company like this. Yes, they say a million times they exist because of us, but we would never have became a community with out an RT in the first place. Rooster Teeth is the dream job, not for the fun they have, but the passion for their work and their viewers. If I had to start from scratch, I think I would have worked harder to do something the way Burnie and co. did. Good show guys. Happy 2017, and to a better 2018.
*heavy sigh* It was an interesting year...
amen bro
Gonna miss the vlog. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. Thanks for the inspiration and letting us in your life.
Thank you.
Seriously. For everything from RvB in '02 to now. All of it. You are truly a hero.
Just remember everyone and this is not saying anything against Burnie as he is great and killing life but this is an edited version of his life where he can script everything to be perfect. If your life isn't perfect don't feel like you can never be Burnie. Burnie has bad days, unproductive work days, meetings that go nowhere, fights with Ashley, fights with his kids and other ordinary problems that everyone has. You won't find the perfect life that is depicted on social media no matter how far you look. Just keep working on your life and cherish the good days that don't get recorded where you love the people around you and you feel productive and happy, and remember on your sad days that if you stay positive and disciplined good days will find you soon.
To be honest the video comes off as more facade than documentary to me. And though I wouldn't consider the content literally it does have a solid message.
I think this video is very important because it does show how perfect burnies life can be.....on this one day. It shows that Burnie has been making these vlogs for a year but he chose this one day to show just some of the amazing things he's grateful to have.
Honestly I just love this video from a cinematography standpoint. There were some really cool unique shots and the whole idea of it being sort of a "detached" vlog with no narration was super interesting to me. I've never seen someone do a vlog like this really (although undoubtedly he has a lot more setup time and ability than most people). Really cool all around.
Also it kinda made me realize that, at least for the rich, we are really living in the imaginary sci-fi future in some ways. Of course most people aren't Burnie and therefore most people don't have voice-activated homes and partially self-driving cars, but it's still an interesting showcase of the fact that these things exist. Had this been shown to someone 25, 30 years ago, they'd probably think it was some sort of realistic sci-fi movie.
It actually reminded me of the Paranormal Activity series, in the way that it's "detached" with no narration. But it was obviously on a much happier note than a series about demons and ghosts... I've seen other shows do this before as well. And it's always a refreshing break from the format that you've grown accustom to.
Very nice words, considering we are in a time where edited exceptionalism is marketed as the new average which seemingly everyone needs to achieve to be considered a worthwhile human being. Being average or below, but trying to improve while also failing is just fine and okay :)
This is such a cool ending. We finally get a personal lifestyle vlog of a Burnie day!
This was an amazing series of vlogs. Burnie was truly destined for production of this magnitude. His adventures, insight, and especially the way he uses symbolism to get a point across is just incredible.
There's no possible way to end the vlog better. Thank you for such a great year of videos!
i CRIED WHEN ELLLIE STARTED SINGING AWW
Droxcy Same
It was so beautiful she could definitely make it if she tried
When the hell did Burnie become a pilot!?
Doesn't Gavin and Burnie have a bet on whether, or not Burnie will get his pilots license, before Gavin gets his drivers license?
Bay Lord considering that Gavin will literally never get his driver's license and that burnie is actively trying to get his pilots, I'm pretty sure it's not even a real bet
You don't even need $150/hr if you bargain shop and depending on the area. I finished my training 10 years ago and the plane I was renting then was $50/hr but you can still find them around here for $85-ish per hour.
It's more expensive to learn to fly her in England, so I've only got about 5 hours P2. See if we can get Gav over here, sure his BitCoin will pay for it
yeah, but that Cessna has probably got all sorts of stuff wrong with it for $105
I want my Burnie back.
I am really going to miss these vlogs. Thanks for this glimpse into the inner-workings of RT and, well, you, Burnie.
Jesus such negative comments, he's not showing off he made it there himself. He started rooster teeth with a couple other guys to get to this position don't be so cynical. Also great video great editing and ellie great singing
And then he and the other founding fathers get paid way more than any of the other harder working employees
Magic Bagel life's not fair, you'll live. Play with the hand you've been dealt.
+Magic Bagel I am confused. Do you see this as a injustice?
Magic Bagel Because of their hard work? RT didn't became a big company in a day
Remembering where they began all those years ago, and having the privelige of both contributing and watching them grow into what they are now, is something I will never regret. They earned their happiness and success, and I'm glad to see them doing so well.
I'd love it if I could download Ellie singing The Show
yep
Is that the name o that song
quincyking010 yeah
quincyking010 or at least I think it is
This has been a pleasure to watch. Thank you for bringing us into your life for the past year. I hope there is another opportunity for a vlog in the future.
Beautful composition of a video, really shows what we’re going to missing with it being the last! Thankyou for the year of the vlogs.
This was insanely amazing. I honestly really enjoyed this. Now I really don't want this to end
2018: An Austin Odyssey
I gonna miss these so much this was always a highlight in my week, thank you burnie and ellie
Thank you Burnie for sharing a bit of your life.
Genuinely the most beautiful video I've seen in years. Just a day in the life and I enjoyed it so much. Thank you Burnie for all the wonderful weekly content you brought us over this year.
Zach E please try to watch some vlogs by The Michalaks, they're wonderful
I never thought that something that wasn't sad would hit so many feels...
For some reason I'm obsessed with watching this vlog over and over again
I've never seen so much production value in a vlog series before. I'm going to miss it so much
