Jimmy Garoppolo following in Baker Mayfield's footsteps | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc - Спорт
I was pretty convinced back when the 49ers first traded for Jimmy he’d win a Super Bowl as a starter. I think he has two rings as a backup. But his release and his short-to-intermediate passing ability were phenomenal and when he reeled off five wins in a row he looked like The Man. But he throws some bone-headed picks and it seems he can’t clean that up. Baker Mayfield is smarter with the football and it’s Jimmy’s Achilles Heel. I just don’t see Jimmy having a turnaround and I’ve always been a fan.
I’m a big florio fan I bought his book but I see why he has so many haters. It’s ok to be absolutely wrong about something Mike! No one cares that you didn’t remember what college oconnel came from but you kept dragging it on about how you weren’t really wrong like geez move on you were wrong it’s no big deal.
Yeah no one is worried about any of that. They hate florio bc they hate everyone. Show me 1 person with 0 haters
He’s not reading these comments email him or reply to a tweet if you want him to see
Jimmy G. Liked His Odds of Getting a Big Ole Super Bowl Ring with them !
GONNA BE FUNNY WHEN WE GIVE HIM WHAT SF COULDNT 🎉🎉
It's over unless he plays 20 games, after Stafford blows an achilles on the 1st series, wins them all and the Super Bowl. He is 33, averages under 200 yards a game, and only has 2 seasons with more than 10 starts, other than that he is great.
Matt stafford is injury prone... that's why he chose the Rams.
Also McVay and amazing weapons in 17, 23 and 10. Plus he loves aHEM WOMEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT industry. Los Angeles just made sense
1st year ram: Stafford won superbowl
2nd year ram: injures. The whole team was
3rd year ram: went to the playoffs
@@szn1580 amazing weapons wouldn't matter if he wasn't gonna have a chance to start.
@@northernbloke6787still a solid gig
@@szn1580 that was the point. It was a good gig he could potentially start games at.
He just got exposed last year. He was always carried by the team. His playoff stats and record says it all. He played 7 games, avg 130 ypg passing only 17 times a game. so no trust in him at all by the coaches. Even throwing 17 times (almost half of a normal qb situation) he managed to have almost 1 INT a game (6 in total) to only 4 TD. From those 4 tds ZERO came in the 4th quarter of all of those games..... 49ers were winning despite of him and not because. Even though qb still the most important position winning is no a qb stat period.
Doesn't need money? How much does he make as a backup? More money than most people make in a decade. Yes, the money is still very good for riding the pine. 4.5 million base with 12 million in incentives for 1 YEAR! Wowza!
Remember last year when people spoke of how bad Baker was and that the Bucs would only win 3-4 games? And what a clever decision the Raiders made by hiring Jimmy G? Hm...
Any way to give another knock on raiders. Garoppolo didnt play well simple as that. Wish him all the luck with the Rams
Why is Florio still here?
@@Edninety dude is a know it all and can’t admit he’s ever wrong. Just like last year he was screaming left and right that McVay was retiring, he was abandoning the Rams, he quit, etc. When McVay announced that he was coming back, dude still took personal shots and had outlandish theories. That’s just a small sample size.
Once again I ask, why is Florio still here? 🤷🏾♂️😂😂
@@jakashi8856I understand having that impression even if i have a different opinion, I just wanted to point out that with all the 24/7 coverage, you'll always find bad takes on any given host that talks frequently
@@Edninety I hear ya, I’m critical of the others too. Just hate arrogance, that’s all lol
@@jakashi8856lol 90% of sports analysts are, SAS, Keyshawn, Nick, Collins, etc etc. Their very job is to argue they are right.
@@jakashi8856 Valid point though, Florio always comes across as VERY sure of his opinion^^
lol. No second act for jimmy. He’s been a bum forever. I’ll never forget how terrible he looked in that Super Bowl 😂
Well, he will have a chance to prove you right or wrong - it is almost guaranteed that Stafford will not play every game this year. If Garoppolo plays well as a backup, he will get another chance. The Rams are a good team. Winning a Super Bowl I understand is the goal, and I doubt Mayfield will ever win one. But being competitive with a chance at the Super Bowl is pretty darn good. Plenty of teams would love to say that (Arizona, NY Jets, San Diego all come to mind).
If Jimmy G played in proportion to his stunning good looks, he’d be an elite QB. Fact is, he’s not good at all.
Die hard 49ers fan Graroppolo is trash!
The same trash that helped take the niners to the Superbowl and nfc Championship game. Yes he missed some throws those games but those games were mostly lost by the Defense. He's a good system QB but he isn't trash.
@@Jayholmes518 Jimmy was carried he was zero help in the playoffs
Jimmy g sucks baker is way better
