💪 Level up your mental performance with other high-performing athletes www.sammartin....
-----
Despite all the training, sweat, and dedication, most athletes fail to spot unseen enemies that can undermine their hard work. These performance killers are subtle, sneaky, and can strike even the most disciplined athletes.
As a mental performance coach to pro athletes, I've seen firsthand many fall into easily avoidable traps. Sometimes these things appear as performance enhancers but surprisingly can actually become performance destroyers.
In this video, I’ll cover 4 surprising performance killers all athletes must avoid.
1. The Dangers of Sitting Too Much: How extended periods of sitting can sabotage your gains and overall health.
2. Obsessing Over Data: Why over-reliance on data can suffocate your performance.
3. Overemphasizing Technique: How focusing too much on perfect technique can hinder actual results.
4. Caring Too Much: The paradoxical trap of caring too deeply and how it leads to anxiety and poor performance.

Just finished my tryouts for my school and I made the team and I realized even when I didn't do well in 1v1s I didn't care as much bc I knew I could do much better the next time and did much more well. Now ik that if I screw up I can easily let it go and do better the next time because of what I know I'm capable of. Amazing video today 🙌
Well done 💪
I discovered your yt chanell a month ago. That was the greatest thing that happened to me. I compete in my country as a polevaulter. I've recently had issues with competeing with the same technique as in training. And also I suffered an injury which stopped my progression completely. My point is that your videos are revolutionary and really important for my future performances. Just wanted to say thank you Sam.
@@alancerny7645 love to hear this 🤝 feel free to reach out to me if ever you need further support.
I love this channel, ever since I subscribed a while ago! Sam, you do a great job, keep it up; you’re changing lives, especially mine ❤
@@rafynatorthevarietygamer1234 glad to hear 🤝 keep working hard
I agree with the over-emphasizing point because I fall victim to this sometimes, especially with how I strike a ball or how I dribble when it is better to just let your mind and body go with the flow you don't need to be the most glamours player out there especially when it is not getting you anywhere. Thank you
@@eziisreal exactly 👍
Im a winger and the thing with over complicating technique helped me very much because I was practicing just cutting in everyday but was neglecting things like positioning and movement
glad you've realised that
this was a great video, really resonated with my situation, thanks!

I train so hard individually to improve my overall performance every day then when I train with my team or even play matches it is as if I have not been training, even my coach tells me I still have a lot of work to do to the extent I get benched consistently.
I would really like to learn from you
@@OCEE755 keep watching the vids and apply what seems relevant to you
very very underrate channel
I 100% agree with the westernised data obsession! As much as performance optimisation is important, in the football world as an example, we see multiple greats from countries in Africa, south America ect where the focus is on feeling and enjoyment through playing. I think it’s important to find the balance between natural and artificial training methods especially in younger players to avoid a mechanical approach to sport and keep it fun throughout a career
💯 - too many kids in the West are drilled into boredom before they even become teenagers

fact stting to much will really mess you up , i try to always if i got too me stting to just gut up random just to move every change that i have for sure . and being over obesse with data , technique and caring to much will mess you up a lot if you obsesse i see when i am just enjoying the process and not being over restricted and want to do too much and going again what my gut is telling to do that i over care about too much and over care about teching and then looks like i am playing with 200 kg over me . care too too buch about training when i already train is just the ego trying to mess me up i did watch lot motivacional videos that made me belive that i as not doing enough but i as capable to turn it around and to listing more my gut , yoga really is the many reason that help me mentally and meditation give a try and enjoy the process it not 1 day our 4 weeks what good takes time and for some is quick and other slower but you get there .pace
@@davidpenas4719 thanks for sharing
Another banger 🔥
🤝 appreciate it
Technical over-emphasis is very common in cricket , A highly technical sport. Most young cricketers spend lots of time improving their shape while playing shots rather than training to find the gaps , improve timing and power. Also bowlers spend hours improving the beauty of their bowling action while they forget about the part where they have to pitch it in the right areas and absolutely destroy their bowling😅
Thanks for sharing - good to hear you've noticed it too!

So how long is too much sitting
Depends on the person. But you generally want to get up once every hour just to move around / stretch out where needed for a few minutes
