The first time I ever saw Until Dawn I was watching my sister play the game and she chose that option. She was so offended she killed him😭💀. She actually killed so many people that she was shocked by all the potential outcomes I managed to uncover when I played the first time.

Ur not, thats why u play multiple playthroughs. Plus the game low key wants you to get Jess and Matt killed, thats why they are absent so long ​@Chewbeaky25

If he doesn't agree the first time, and Emily gives him the flare gun, he will just keep it, he can use it later to save himself from the Wendigo in case he decides to save Emily twice.
That way Emily and Matt will have a good relationship, and Matt won't die.
