Fantastic video guys. What an awesome castle. And so nice of us English to build it for you. Love the look of the cafe. 👍🏻. The town looks cool and I would swerve the steep street too tbh. Very nice drone footage Wills. Even a perfectly timed dog in shot too. 👌🏻. Beautiful sunset. Another masterpiece from you both. Be good hope to see you soon. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
Yep, thanks guys, you built loads for us!! And now Wales’s famous for them - cheers!!! We’re getting better at the drone and that lovely dog entered the shot at just the right time!! Cheers for watching and we’re looking forward to another wander with you soon. 🍻
Brilliant vlog, I also love Barmouth, it's my favourite place in Wales, Loved the castle, sunset and drone shots. I remember seeing one of the best sunsets in Barmouth many many years ago, sitting on the front lawns of the Min y Mor hotel with a pint in hand. Great video once again both.🌅👍
It’s beautiful isn’t it. We love Barmouth so much and that was a lovely sunset. We’re getting a bit better at the drone and I’m not scared we’re going to lose it every time we fly it now!!! Cheers for watching 🍻
We do have to hand it to Edward, he did build an amazing castle 🏰 🤩, even if he was English😆 . Harlech castle looks incredible, we really must visit here. Can't argue with you about those views, they have to be the best from any castle in Wales🥰🌄👌. Fantastic narration and history as always Rach, we really appreciate the research you must have to do in order to educate us lot!😆👊. Wow Pete was so impressed with the drone footage you got at the beach, just stunning🥰👌. He particularly liked the rocket shot of the dog running along the waters edge, very cool🐶🤩👍. And that sunset to finish off, perfect end to a day out. We think you achieved a lovely relaxed vibe on this video perfectly, we really enjoyed that😊👍. Have a great week guys, Shell and Pete😊👊👍
Ah thanks guys. It’s gorgeous and well worth a visit. I have to admit my research this time was to watch pinned’s video on the castle, they’re always so factual!! We’re getting better at the drone and high praise indeed from the drone master Pete!!! Cheers and have a brilliant week 🍻
Enjoyed seeing the castle ruins and hearing about it's history, Rachel and Wills. It would be fun to go back in time and experience it. As long as I get to keep my head and can come back to the AC and flush toilets when I want! 🤣🤣 Fun ruins to explore. Always a need for more whipped cream! Harlech is a lovely quaint town. Love the stone buildings. Stunning beach and dunes. Gorgeous sunset! Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks for joining us. That castle is particularly lovely, but like you we would want a flushing loo at the end of the day (not much call for AC in Wales in January! Actually for the whole year come to think of it!!). Cheers for watching and have a great week 🍻
wow wow wow what a great day out guys i absolutely loved this! such an amazing castle and beautiful town surrounding it! its a shame you couldnt try the mead 😅 you will have to visit again soon for that, some stunning beach views watching the sunset :) awesome video !!!!
So awesome to tour castles! The sunset looks beautiful too, and I love the moment around 11:00 where you can see three people walking in the reflection but not on the land as they're in shadow. You guys have such full days when you go out! 😄
Hey! Great video, Postcard & a Pint! When I visited Harlech Castle back in the day in 1985, the "Castle Hotel" was right next to it. It offered Wilsons beers from Wilsons Brewery in Manchester. Three years later, in 1988, when I popped in again, the Castle Hotel served Whitbread beers from one of the greedy "Big Six" brewers at the time. Still, it was better than today's "beer desert." Come 2035, when today's rioting and taxation madness is history, a pub, inn, or hotel will likely return to Harlech. Wales has much to recover from. Beautiful Castle. It needs restoring when genuine funding returns.
Thanks for watching and sharing your stories of Harlech. Yes, it is lacking a pub or two! Shame as it's an incredible place. We did love the crazy cafe, wool shop post office, but we'd take a real pub any day. Cheers to you 🍻
LOVE Harlech castle. Time for another visit is overdue. Thanks for taking me there and sharing your never boring commentary and valuable information. It looks tidier than in 2018. The beach is stunning indeed..... looking forward to leaving my footprints there one day! Fantastic music. Oh what a great video. Loved every minute. Almost needed the sunglasses at the end. Wow. 😎🎉🇳🇿🙋♀🇳🇱
Ah you definitely need another visit. Tidier? That’s interesting. We visited in 2020 when we could go further and the public loos at the beach were disgusting!!! We didn’t go in this visit! We got to see a stunning sunset - thanks for joining us 🍻
A spectacular view from the castle 😊 looks so nice there even if the castle is smaller than some. Lovely way to end the day on the beach 😊 beautiful sunset
Awesome castle. Who would' love that sunset on the dunes? What's this dry January you speak of??? I hope that doesn't catch on this side of the pond. It could start another bloody revolution.🤣. Have a great week guys. Until next time👍😎💞🐲🌹
Hahaha - dry January is quite the thing here along with Sober October (we failed at that one!!) Movember (guys grow a moustache!!) we’re a strange country!! Cheers for watching and we were so lucky it was such beautiful weather. Cheers 🍻
Fabulous beach! And it was worth driving to Barmouth for the sunset. The castle is very I would image at least from storybooks, round turrets and perched up on a hill with great views of the land below.
Wow. This was really well filmed & edited. Very impressed guys. The voice over was also fantastic & we loved the bits of humour. Harlech Castle is a lovely place. We visited it about 30 years ago & loved it. The views were simply amazing. Loved the drone shots on the beach as well. Enjoyed this so much we have subbed to your channel. 😊😊
Thank you so much. It’s such a stunning castle, definitely one of our favourites. Thanks so much for your kind words and welcome to Postcard and a Pint. Cheers 🍻

Hello guys! I'm always happy to enjoy your videos! For real! You keep me company while having fun and at the same time making me discover and get to know wonderful places like this. I'm falling in love with Wales! It's so quaint, dramatic, scenic, so fascinating! This location is truly amazing. I LOVE Castles....They are always so different and so incredibly fascinating! And then this has a truly enchanting and unique view. Very charming. And what a beautiful town, with its stone houses and the Church! And then....the sea! Sea and sunset are two things I can't resist! Use the drone often, you are very good! As always, I leave you my like and I embrace you with affection. Happy weekend! Renata
Ah thanks Renata. I wouldn’t say we’re great at the drone but we are getting better!!! Harlech is a beautiful castle and we were blessed with a gorgeous day to see it. You can’t beat finishing off with a good sunset in Barmouth either. Cheers 🍻
The castle looked amazing! The short walls might take some getting used to at that height, but the views seem worth it. The Wilderness cafe looked like a fun spot for a bite to eat. Great job on the drone shots!
Thanks so much for watching. It has the best views ever. The short walls didn’t bother me too much this day, I think when it’s windy it feels more precarious. That cafe was brilliant and it was fun to spend time playing with the drone on the beach. Cheers for watching 🍻
I'm so far behind, sorry about this. I love your channel, one of the very best. The castles are just amazing, my wife watches so often and I watch with her, she has told sso many people about your channel. You are both amazing, and your channel is so amazing, so professional. Your narration is just perfect, such talent. So glad I know you, have a wonderful week.
Bless your wife for spreading the Postcard and a Pint word. Say thanks from us. We’re lucky we have so many castles around. This one is particularly lovely and the old town and beach are gorgeous too. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
A very interesting and enjoyable post, GG 👏, fabulous shots and a top notch script delivered with aplomb 😁. I have been there three times but only really did the beach, though I always wanted to visit the castle, but as a child I had no say. Like deployed 👍

Cheers guys. It’s such a beauty of a castle sand we were so blessed with the weather that day. Even the postcard and a Pepsi on the beach sunset. Cheers 🍻
Breathtaking is the word for it! I so much wish I could walk those walls myself, as nervewracking as those heights might be. The views alone are just stunning! Thank you for this great tour of the site and all the wonderful history! The town looked so charming as well, and so glad you got the drone going for the beach. Looking forward to a summertime tour of the area. Well worth that extra haul to Barmouth for that sunset! Thanks for this Rach and Wills!
Thanks Susan. We were very lucky with the weather and it wasn’t windy either!! Very rare!! It was a top day out and that castle is gorgeous. Cheers for watching 🍻
Hi both, Harlech Castle is one of our favourite places not too far from home and like you said walking the top of the castle walls is quite precarious especially if there was a strong wind ! But its so lovely with the views all around and the beach is gorgeous. Loved the drone footage that you got . Sorry don't know anything about the old town washery 😃 ~ Anna 🏴👍
Thanks both, it’s gorgeous isn’t it, you’re lucky to live nearby. We were lucky it was such a lovely day and it wasn’t windy for once. Thanks for watching 🍻
@PostcardAndAPint looking at buying back in the UK this year. We will be sure to let you know when we land and check out all these amazing places in person. North Wales is so underrated!
Wow the castle is amazing! And huge! Will have to add Harlech to the list, I see it's close to Portmeirion which is also high on the list! Thanks for the inspo and good luck with dry January, halfway there now! 🚫🍺🤐
Thank you. We look forward to your videos when you come and visit!! Give us a shout when you’re over. Thanks so much for watching and cheers 🍻 (with a Pepsi!!)

Nice one guys, appreciate your tour of Harlech as other than its super steep street and castle, we didn't have time to do much more, when we visited last year! We need to go back to Wales soon! Cheers both, regards, Simon👍
Thanks so much for watching. It’s a lovely quaint town and the beach is amazing. The castle of course is incredible. We’re glad you enjoyed it and yes, come back to wales this year. Cheers 🍻
A very interesting and enjoyable vlog, Rachel and Wills. I couldn't stop singing "Men of Harlech" to myself (well mainly humming the tune as I couldn't remember all the words!). The views from the castle were stunning. It's amazing to think that the sea came right up to the castle walls back in the day. The food at the Wilderness Cafe looked really tasty and it was nice to explore the area around the castle and the beautiful beach. Fabulous drone footage and a gorgeous sunset ❤🤗
Thanks so much for watching. We do have some amazing castles in Wales. Wills kept singing men of Harlech too - he doesn’t know the words either!!! It was a top day out. Cheers 🍻
Dry January? BOO ze. Almost a first thumbs down, but of course not, always up for your amazing channel. What an awesome day this was, you fit so much in, spotted an incredible amount of great thumbnails on route of you both, ive no idea how you came up with the one you did, your so beautiful and thumbnail-able! Is that a thing? You do great thumbs and back them up with great vids too, impossible to fault! ❤ we think of Wills? we instantly think of Barmouth and Christmas! Everyone needs a bit of those in their lives each year! Great drone work, that might be coming to our channel this year, if we can fight off the bears, long distance paths, collabs and goths and punks! 😱 spoiler alert thats the next four months! Beautiful sunset, beautiful pair. Love you both ❤
Oooo are you guys getting a drone??? Exciting!! It’s taken us a while to get to grips with it and in wales it’s almost always too bloody windy! But, we’re getting the hang of it now and we did get some lovely shots that day. Wills is the thumbnail king, I just pull a stupid face when he says!! Glad we got to Barmouth at the end, it was gorgeous. Postcard and a Pepsi will be put right come February!! Cheers for watching ❤️❤️🍻
Now that is an amazing castle! Wales is now high on our bucket list and that castle's on the top of it. Spectacular drone footage too. Well done Wills and Rach.👍
A beautiful historical castle that stood the test of time. The commanding view is simply breathtaking. Like you, I wish I could travel back in time to see this castle brought to life, not the battle part though 😃
Hey you lovely pair 🙋🏻♀️ this was a great castle review, the history was fantastic! Wow what a castle! Hoping your dry January is just for RUclips 😉🤫 love you guys this was a great post! 🥰❤️ amazing drone shots and beach shots you know this already but you guys rock! Love ya

Wonderful castle and views, the narration is awesome, very respectful to the history and yet so light-hearted, you have a pure talent for this Rach! The music made such a great atmosphere during the visit! One of my favourite videos from you guys so far!
Fantastic views from the golf course but I had to go over the dunes to see the beach. Will be coming past on Wales Coastal Path .hopefully this year but golf clubs will be in the car and a pint or two will br necessary in Harlech.
The poor gold course looked well and truly sodden!! We really must crack on with the coast path! We’ve managed Chester to Llandudno!! The prettiest bits are yet to come. Cheers 🍻

Im waiting for Webby to catch up .absolutely love his vids.
Worth visiting? Depends on what you like. Harlech is the seat of a lot of history, so visiting such a place is very rewarding. Sadly, it's just a ruin, but it's in a lot better shape than some castles in the U.K. like Urquhart in Scotland. If you plan to visit any castle, be sure to read up on its history so you can appreciate it more. If you're on a castle hunt, be sure to visit Conwy, Caernarfon, Hever and some of the better-known ones for a full treat on Medieval history. Another good one is Bodiam castle in southern England. It's in decent shape and the mote has not been drained or turned into a parking lot as with Dalhousie castle. Dalhousie is a great B&B and was built in the 12th century. The breakfast is wonderful, and the castle is in great shape. There are a few more castles in the U.K. that you can stay in overnight. But very few of them are from the Medieval era. Borthwick castle near Edinburgh, Scotland is a good one for B&B.
Thanks for watching. One thing you can say about Harlech is it’s outlook is stunning. We love Conwy and Caernarfon and love the history of all of Edwards ring of castles up here in North Wales. Caernarfon is great for its extra exhibitions about the history of the castle and origins. I think our favourite, even though it’s smaller and wasn’t finished is Beaumaris. You get more of a feel of what life would have been like there. We can’t wait to have more free time to venture further to explore more as we do love a castle! Thanks for the recommendations and watching this video. Cheers 🍻
Wow, thank you so much, that is so kind of you!!!! And if you make it to North Wales, give us a shout! We’d love to show you around some of our favourite haunts. Thanks again x
It's a relatively small castle, but my God. When you look at it the word "impregnable" comes immediately to mind. Only siege could overcome it. A direct assault was impossible. It uses the surrounding topography to great effect.
Ah good ol' Eddie Longshanks. Subduer of Wales and Scotland. Sorry.. got too excited. Apparently he didn't subdue Scotland. Willy (not a penis 😁) Wallace was right. Eddie did take his life but not their freedom. Good work Scots. So, that must be a bit embarrassing for the Welsh. The Scots don't have any of Eddies' castles. Better luck keeping your independence next time Wales. Terrific castle though. It is a ripper. For a little castle it seems huge. I've been watching The Last Kingdom and it seems back in Alfred's day they made castles out of sticks and cow dung. Fast forward a few centuries and Edward seems to have castle building down pat. Very impressive. To answer your question Rach, I pose another question. Is there every any need not to have that amount of cream and marshmallows? The sanger looked great too. Sadly you can't tart up a tomato soup. Except if you add huge dollop of cream. See, there's the answer to your question right there. Are bath bombs what the Welsh used to throw at Eddie Longshanks? Lovely drone work. Really. Beautifully framed. Perfect movement. Great shot selection. Wills and Rach showing us how it should be done since Feb 2021. (Oi, anniversary coming up 🥳)
Cheers Shane, yes we were never great at keeping the English out. Was it because the Scots wear skirts, they’re more angry and a little chilly round their man bits that they fought harder (pardon the pun!). Who knows, but at least Eddie gave us some great castles. Or maybe we did fight with bath bombs!! That tomato soup was really good, best we’ve had!! Cheers for your kind words on the drone footage, we’re getting better at it and for once it wasn’t blowing a gale on the beach. Cheers for watching. 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint Yes the Welsh should've realised flashing your dangly bits would be far more scary than an impressive baritone rendition of Myfanwy 😁

@@PostcardAndAPint Postcard and a Pepsi! 😂
Great castle and lovely doc over North Wales - great shots
Thank you so much 🍻
Another very enjoyable vlog. Somewhere else to put on our visit list. Waving at you, all the way from Qatar 🇶🇦 Kate and Ruslan

Cheers 🍻
Epic castle!!! Some day I hope 🤞🏼
Definitely worth a visit. Cheers for watching 🍻
Wow wow, what a wonderful video. Thanks guys if ever in north wales would definitely visit. M&T
Thanks guys. It’s a lovely castle. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
Cheers 🍻
cool....one of our fave castles
It’s great isn’t it 🍻
Dry January?
@@PostcardAndAPint postcard and a pepsi? Brilliant, that kinda works too! Roll on February. Yes, baby steps, we’ll get one this year im sure! 👍
Now that is an amazing castle! Wales is now high on our bucket list and that castle's on the top of it. Spectacular drone footage too. Well done Wills and Rach.👍
Thank you so much. We hope you get to come and visit, we have many a fine castle. Cheers 🍻
Excellent video.
Thank you so much. It’s such a lovely place to visit. 🍻
A beautiful historical castle that stood the test of time. The commanding view is simply breathtaking. Like you, I wish I could travel back in time to see this castle brought to life, not the battle part though 😃
Thanks for watching. It is a stunner of a castle. We agree the battle parts of castle life would be tedious!! Cheers for watching 🍻
"aahhhh dry January !!" mrs Mac on it asked me to join in...nope anyway great video would love to get my drone over it
Good for you!! It’s a good reset each year and you sleep better!! Roll on Feb, thanks for watching 🍻
I love Harlech and Barmouth but as we generally stay either in Snowdonia or on Anglesey they're a bit of a treck! Great video, I so love a castle 😀
It's a stunning castle is Harlech. The beach is pretty incredible too. Cheers for watching 🍻
wow! This is awesome!!!
Thank you so much 🍻
Hey you lovely pair 🙋🏻♀️ this was a great castle review, the history was fantastic! Wow what a castle! Hoping your dry January is just for RUclips 😉🤫 love you guys this was a great post! 🥰❤️ amazing drone shots and beach shots you know this already but you guys rock! Love ya

Ah thank you. It’s such a lovely castle. You two need to get your buns down to Wales this year for sure!!! Dry Jan is going well so far!! Cheers guys ❤️❤️🍻
Wonderful castle and views, the narration is awesome, very respectful to the history and yet so light-hearted, you have a pure talent for this Rach! The music made such a great atmosphere during the visit! One of my favourite videos from you guys so far!
Ah bless you, we love getting out and about and seeing things. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers 🍻
Totally agree. You both have a great style and make it look very natural. I've shared with my friends
@@katemarie4667 That's really nice of you x
Harlech North Wales - Castle, Beach and Town Vlog - Is It Worth Visiting?
It certainly is!! Thanks for watching
Cheers 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint Ive just completed round Anglesey .stunning.especially the west side of Holy Island .but cracked my ribs trying to jump a 6ft stream and failing. Just about recovered now and back down soon for next 2 stages .Menai Bridge to Trefor as they are flat whereas after that towards Nefyn on Llyn Peninsula I need the better weather for the views. Im waiting for Webby to catch up .absolutely love his vids.
@@SmithyGolfandSmithyWalks oh wow!!! Sounds painful! Yes we watch Webby too! Looking forward to seeing more of the coast path!! 🍻
Cheers 🍻
Buying you both a pint (for after dry January). Cheers 🍻
Wow, thank you so much, that is so kind of you!!!! And if you make it to North Wales, give us a shout! We’d love to show you around some of our favourite haunts. Thanks again x
@@PostcardAndAPint will do! Enjoy x
It's a relatively small castle, but my God. When you look at it the word "impregnable" comes immediately to mind. Only siege could overcome it. A direct assault was impossible. It uses the surrounding topography to great effect.
It certainly does. It’s an incredible piece of engineering! One of our favourites for sure. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
First!
🥇 🍻🍻
