- MASSIVE Snake Spotted Mowing overgrown lawn with New Mower
I have been looking for a mower to help others in need with property cleanups and overgrown yards so I headed to the equipment store and checked out the mowers and ended up taking home a Ferris Z2. Once I returned home, before I even started mowing, I started weed eating the overgrown grass near the creek and spotted a massive snake.

Reminds me of the 5 years I used to cut the grass at my late grandpa's house. He lived on land that goes from say the road to your barn. The house sat about 3/4 of the way in. I had to cut the backyard with the push mower, and use the riding mower on the front side of the house. The riding mower was ancient and when you idled it would almost leap from idle and then I was off cutting the grass. I used to like to cut it like a baseball diamond with the crisscross pattern.

Here in the south it isn't a surprise, I carry a pistol for just such an emergency.
TONS of copperheads when we first bought the house.
Keep the grass short and give them nowhere to hide.
Never saw any snake in this video. He was running his weed eater and dropped it, and backed off, then grabbed his weed eater and continued mowing.

We just bought a new mower last year. Now I want a stand up one haha....maybe next year 😉
We have a John Deere Tractor & bushog for the fields & the woods. We back the bushog down the steeper creek banks to get them mowed. It's a lot easier that way.
We have a place in Central Ohio that was homesteaded in the early 1800's by the Studebaker family.

@@OutdoorswithErik what length did you cut your grass on I've got a John Deere zero turn and I cut my grass on a 1.5 inches don't have any weed eating to do except around my oak and cherry trees which is 9 the rest of it was sprayed with crossbow cost $80 and it is the size of the smallest round up you can buy but within two hours it starts to turn everything brown and within 7 it's to the dirt gone disappear

Well darn it, I said on your last video that I could relate to you, a couple of middle-aged, heavier guys with simple equipment, and here I see you went and got a fancy mower.
Oh well, I still enjoy your channel, and I hope you enjoy that impressive mower. I'll just stick with my tiny push mower for now, since I can't afford anything else (AND just lost my teaching job after 10 years, AND my daughter just broke her arm on the last day of school - she's 7).
Yep, life kinda sucks at the moment, so buying a nicer mower sure isn't on the list until I can pay my rent and get some medical insurance again.

Eric I love watching your videos but i just wanted to let you know that sometimes when you are weedeating in the flower beds you might want to be careful because some of the plants that grow out in the fall will be what makes the new flowers in the spring and if you cut them off in the fall there wont be any in the spring. Keep up the good work.

In stead of cutting that tree down. Just pull it out. Doesn't look like to mush root system left. Hook up the skidster to it and pull.

Question: Why didn't you purchase a sit-down mower instead of a stand-up mower with the large area you have to mow on your property? Personal preference I guess but I'm abit lazy & would want to sit down mowing...lol 😆

Impossible to get it that short lol, bumps are easier than on a zero turn. Lot easier to maneuver

love your property- my wife would constantly be yelling at me because I would never stop changing/ improving the area. first thing would be moving those big boulders to the edges, so I stopped or slowed trespassing.
