I had a business relationship with Genevieve "Mama Natural" when I owned a company called Sweet Knee. She is the real deal. I'm so proud of how far she has come in her valuable work for mothers. I found Ina May after having a traumatic birthing experience. I wasn't able to have another baby and I always felt sad that I hadn't discovered her before. You are doing all of the best things for that precious baby. God bless!

Due in August with my first! Found you because I'm dead set on CM homeschooling and it's never too early to start educating myself, right? 😅 Planning a home birth with a CPM as well! 30 years experience and over 2,000 babies delivered! So thankful to have her. When she and her partner retire my region will experience a great loss, none of our other midwives have anywhere near that amount of experience.

Another GREAT book, especially for anyone planning a hospital birth, is "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth". It's essentially a research review on all the interventions common in hospital births. It's very easy to read and extremely thorough!

How exciting!! I had my 5th child at home in August...she was a vbac after 2 cesareans. I didn't know it was even possible until right before I got pregnant. It was such an amazing experience! Glad you found a wonderful midwife!

You'll be amazing and have a wonderful experience! I had our first baby at home, then 7 healthy, safe and peaceful home births!! Something that always encourages me, is at my baby showers, I always ask my family and friends to write an encouraging verse that has to do with birth, against fear, God's faithfulness and I love reading these during labor!

My first was a traumatic hospital birth and my 2nd was a home birth! It was such an amazing experience and I’m planning for a home birth this time around too!

So glad you mentioned eating smartly after you give birth, I see these videos and insta pictures of people pounding down a huge spread of food like sushi and burgers and all I think is good look getting that out 💩 I've had three babies my oldest is 4 and after every birth my first meal is always a bowl of cream of wheat and then I wait two hours before I eat any protein and then I go easy. So anyway I'm glad you mentioned about how to eat after birth, I think it's a good focus and no one seems to talk about it. Good luck with the delivery!!

Look into the benefits of drinking green tea vs black tea! I switched to green from being a coffee addict and it was so easy and helpful for my body. I didn't know how badly coffee was making me feel until I switched. I'm more alert now and never get caffeine cravings or headaches.

I’m due with my third in October. It’s so fun sharing a similar timeline as you and listening to your stories. Thank you for your bravery of sharing your experience with your first born. That really touched my heart. All I can say is, God’s strength is real and I see that strength in you. Wow. Much love. ❤

I had my youngest daughter 5 years ago via an un medicated vbac with a CNM also. I remember following your journey alongside mine on Instagram and how much you inspired me. You were also very influential in my decision to homeschool my 2 girls. I’m so happy for your family and to see an update from you. I think of you often! Congratulations! ❤

This was such a great video! I love Mama Natural! I take her collagen peptides, and love her book and content! Thank you for sharing!
P.S. if you wanted to share where you buy your clothes, that would be amazing! Love your style!

How fun! I have 3 girls, first was a C-section, second homebirth vbac and third was homebirth with the help of a last minute epidural (she was 11 lbs and we pushed for like 4 hours at home and I was so tired!!) homebirth is lovely, I’m sure you will love it!!!

Congrats! Thank you for sharing the books! I will definitely want to read the ones that are new to me. I’ve only read Ina May Gaskins which I love and has definitely helped me tremendously with my natural births. I had a traumatic first birth too and I agree with everything you said about finding the right midwife. I adore my midwife and found out at my 3rd’s birth a few months ago she’s retiring soon. If we are blessed with more babies I’ll be a little distraught about not having her. Prayers for a healthy mama and baby!

Loved the update Larissa!! I also had a traumatic first birth, even after doing all the research and trying a home birth!! We ended up in the hospital and it was a rough start. But by baby #3 I finally had a stay-at-home home birth 🙃
I’ve read Ina May’s book every pregnancy! It’s truly special!
Also, have you listened to the Happy Homebirth podcast? That was my favorite with my last pregnancy. You’d really like the worldview of the host. She’d have a lot of similarities to you!

So thrilled for you, Larissa! I'm due with my 3rd mid-October, and this will be my 3rd home birth, Lord willing! Ina May's book is my favorite. If you're looking for a fun pregnancy read, "Baby Catcher: Chronicles of a Modern Midwife" by Peggy Vincent is such a good one! It's a really well-written, amazing story that got me excited for birth with my first baby. :)
