Yeah, a lot of shows I grew up with in the 2000s almost always show siblings arguing , getting on each others nerves, or just being straight up bullies (Terrence from Foster's Home being an example of this) so when I first saw A Canterlot Wedding at the age of 14 I remember thinking how nice it was to see siblings getting along.
I mostly watched MLP and Amazing World of Gumball as a kid, so I saw some of the siblings fighting sometimes, but it was always in an entertaining way rather than bullying (like on some live action shows I would see on cable...)
I gotta say, as someone who kinda fell in and out of mlp multiple times, A Canterlot Wedding-being the first episode of MLP FIM I was actually exposed to-has a very special place in my heart because of Twilight and Shining's bond. Idk I find familial bonds in general to be underrated.
I swear they know how to write good family dynamics. Yeah yeah angst builds character, but honestly I wanna see two siblings poking fun at each other or two rock sisters who have nothing in common be close, or just 2 older siblings protecting the younger one because they love her. I love mlp relationship dynamics omg they know how to write such cliche and sickly sweet relationships, but make it so pleasing to watch
11:43 The moment Twilight realized she was going to be an aunt is one of my favorite moments in this show. I know exactly how she was feeling as I went through the same experience in finding out that I was going to be a tia. One of the best memories of my life. I miss this show.
You know what I don’t get, how come Spike wasn’t with the six on hearing their news, even though, his voice was sort of heard at the end of that episode.

I think that’s why I started to get drawn to Twilight a lot more in the later seasons. I grew up with three brothers so, it’s refreshing to see this dynamic. It’s not always easy having an older brother, but you can tell that they have a great, supportive relationship. Shining Armor is a wonderful character. 😊

Consequently though I can see a big flaw i their relationship; as Twilight presented it in the song bbbff. She said they "never had a single fight" yet it's totally healthy and normal for loving siblings to fight once in a while if they don't it implies their afraid and so don't share their true feelings with each other or else they don't care enough about the other to care what they think. Nobody thinks exactly the same and has the same opinions, so when they find out someone they care about has differing thoughts arguments naturally ensue. It's even normal for siblings to call each other names it doesn't mean they love each other any less, they are just treating each other as friends and friends just do that it's called ripping. Think of how Rainbow Dash was called "Crash" when she joined the wonderbolts. they still loved her they were just treating her as an they treat themselves, and nobody is treats themselves like an easily offended baby.

But I was just pointing out that although I love them, the dynamic Twilight presents them having in her bbbff song as never fighting is totally unhealthy and unrealistic because fighting is something those who care about each other but are their own people so have differing opinions just do never fighting would only make good sense with those who have no sense of humor so are unable to laugh at themselves and their loved ones. I guess it bothers me because loving siblings might look at them and think their brother or sistrer doesn't love them just because they fight once in a while.
