    My 03 450 will hit 45mph and I'm 265lbs. Looking to buy the 05 400 too. Used to own and still trust Honda but I'm 100% Yamaha now. Thanks for review!

    We just got a new 2022 Kodiak 450 at work to plow snow with. Nice machine but was wondering on how to engage the diff lock? I have an 02 Grizzly 660 so I’m familiar with how to engage the diff lock with Yamaha’s older system but this new Kodiak is different.. still has the red push button for regular 4WD but no slide over to the yellow button for diff lock.. I know not all Kodiak’s come with the diff lock but this one says diff lock right on it so it has it, just not sure how to engage it..

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  Год назад +1

      @AMF96 To be honest I don’t really have any experience with the new Yamaha’s just the older type like you grizzly 660. Do you have access to the owners manual? It should tell you in there.

    • @AMF96
      @AMF96 Год назад

      @@rockspowersports I’ll have to ask my boss if we have the owners manual for it. If not perhaps I can find more information online. But anyways, thanks for the reply man! Always enjoy your videos! Hope the restoration project on your old Grizzly 700 is going well!

      @@AMF96 Yeah my friend has a new kodiak 700 but his is the base model and does have the diff lock. It’s got the manual cable lever for the 4x4.
      I’ll be honest I haven’t touched the grizzly yet.. I’m still planning to have it done before spring though, so I can ride it!

    • @AMF96
      @AMF96 Год назад +1

      @@rockspowersports Not sure I’ve seen a model with a manual cable for the 4WD but I guess that would just be on the base model. Good luck with the Grizzly! Hope your able to find all the parts and everything you may need for it. Looking forward to seeing some videos of it in the future!

    • @rockspowersports

      The kodiaks are very good machines. The only down fall to this one was the lack of low range. It can still do pretty much anything you need it to, however it would be nice if they did.

      @Josh Hodgdon You can’t ever go wrong with free!
      If you check you vin # the 10th digit from the left will be your year.
      If it’s a 2000 it will be 0
      if it’s a 2001 it will be a 1 and so on.
      If it’s a 99 or older it will be a letter

      @@rockspowersports where is the vin! cant find the sticker lol

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  Год назад

      @Josh Hodgdon It won’t be a sticker, it will be stamped on the Frame. It’s hard to see if you don’t know where your looking.
      On these Yamahas if your sitting on the wheeler it will be on the left hand side, it’s stamped on the lower portion of the frame between your engine and the front A-arm.

      @@tj1lincoln182what year? Bought my wife an 03 and it's the best machine I've ever owned. Even better than newer 4 wheelers I've owned. It has the pull start too, in case your battery goes dead. I'm 6ft, 265 lbs, so not a small man. Dude, it takes me anywhere I want to go. I can't double anyone obviously but it would do good with 2 small people 😂.

      @rockspowersports  2 года назад +1

      @Nathan Taylor. This one is a 2005 kodiak 400. If yours is a kodiak 400 and has a low range it must be a 04 or older. The 2005 450’s kept the low range so maybe that’s what yours is?
